Hi Razorback

Welcome to the forum. Many years ago I was staying in a motel that had one of those vibrating beds;you put in a couple of quarters and the whole thing buzzes for a few minutes.I had a very intense experience that from what I know now could have been an OBE.However I was also doing alot of drugs at the time so it very well could have just have shook loose some stray chemicals in my brain.Who knows?!

My current thinking is that OBE vibrations aren`t physical at all. It`s simply an effect of reaching that particular mental transition that occurs when your conciousness leaves your body.Getting to that state consistently is what many of us here are working towards and I have yet to figure out a method that allows me to do it at will although it`s becoming easier with practice.Try a bunch of different things and figure out what works for you.

Let us know if you figure out a way to kick-start the vibrations. You can patent a device, give it a fancy name like Astral Induction Generator and make a bloody fortune!

I think he should make a OBE inducing Vibrating bed! aka. Jack the motel beds with a well planned operation! wipe the hotels clean! make a HUGE fortune with no spending money for parts!

lol no down to serious'ness, if you find something that works, that would be awesome, just make sure you tell me first if u make your product! heh ;) thatd be awesome.

I tell you something I DO do everytime I go try for a OBE.  I have this really nice massage thing that is the size and shape of a Caveman's Club! it heats, has like 20 different options, and I use it as a relaxation tool before I start my so-called meditation.  It works really really good if thats wut u was talking about, its not instant but REALLY helps the mistake of 80% of the people who try OBE's, which is relaxation. [:D]

My problem is staying in deep trance, its a grump trying to project in a light trance that gives you cobb web sensations! distracting!  but im learning better now since i used this(and other techniques i learned here), I wasnt ever relaxed and my ADD always screwed me up lol.

It doesn't relate in the slightest.  Being brand new, I simply placed it in the wrong forum.  I realized that right after I hit the "Post" button.  Sorry if it offends anyone.

Hi razorback,

Welcome to the Astral Pulse! [:)]

Your topic is an excellent one. I thought maybe it would be better served in our Welcome to OBE discussions forum rather than the Robert Bruce interviews forum.

Thanks for the nice introduction as well. For my part, I have also read the books you mention, and they are all excellent ones. Years ago, when my father was still alive, he had an NDE. That was when I first learned about that subject. I read everything I could back then (the 1980's) and was taken with what I read. I do agree that it is a logical step to connect aspects of that phenomena to the OBE.

There have been a number of past topics posted in our Welcome to Permanent Astral Topics forum that may interest you. I would invite your attention to several, such as: Achieving Consciousness state for Astral Phasing and Gateway Wave 1 pointers which have some excellent posts by a number of our members, such as Frank.

In the OBE area, look for the posts by Jeff Mash as well. He is very experienced with OBE and writes instuctive and thought provoking posts.

Finally, please take a look at our File Library as there are some downloads there that may interest you. We also have a Search engine that can locate older posts by member and/or topic.

Again welcome - [:)]

Hi Nick.  Thanks so much for moving this post.  I knew it was in the wrong forum right after I had sent it.  I wasn't sure how to cancel or move it so I left it alone.

Since I posted this, I have done additional reading which indicates that artificially inducing vibrations may not have any effect but I am going to try it anyway.  William Buhlman seems to think that the vibratory state is caused by one of the chakkras opening up and this is a real possibility.  If that is the case, so much for artificial vibes.  I have also read lots of the old posts by Frank, Adrian, Jeff and others and have learned a lot.  Considering that I knew almost nothing a few weeks ago, it doesn't take me long to learn a lot.  I have decided that my difficulty in achieving the proper vibrations can be in one of two areas.  1) I am not achieving the "Body Asleep-Mind Awake" state as I feel that I am. 2)I am not concentrating properly on the 'brow' or 'crown' chakkras.

One thing I am having a problem with and I am sure that each and every one of you have also had the same problem.  How do I tell if the experience is a bonifide AP/OBE or simply a Lucid Dream?  From what I have read this is a pretty fine line.  Now, I can tell you, "Nick, I found this great restaurant last night which you need to check out.  Here is the address."  You simply grab your Atlas, jump in your vehicle and go check it out.  I can't tell you that I found this great location on Astral Level #6 (example) and that you should check it out, for two reasons.  1)  I wouldn't be able to adequately describe it and give you directions.  2) You couldn't duplicate it and go there.  Bruce Moen implies that he can go to any location of his choosing basically any time he desires.  There is a place he refers to as TMI/There which is an Astral location (visualized)where they all meet around the crystal to get charged up and then they go off to the "Planning Center" or other places.  Maybe a person can get it fine tuned to always be that accurate but reading some of Frank's old posts and as good as he is/was, he was not at that level.  Seems like everytime I find out something, I find that there are another few dozen questions.

Thanks.

1.) Go outside and sit facing the sun.

2.) Breathe out all the air in your lungs.

3.) Immediately breathe in as fully as you can.

4.) Repeat over and over. Pace yourself so you never
feel light headed. Breathing fast is not important,
breathing deeply is.

Breathing out all your air over and over gets rid of
the air in the bottom of your lungs that just sits
there and stagnates. You can't really breathe out all
your air but if you do 90% over and over it's like a
lung colonic.

For me the vibrations I get from breathing are very strong and fill my whole body, it becomes too easy to move so to speak, if I move my arm a little it moves very quickly with little effort.

As I am a relative 'newbie' to O.B.E. and new to the forum, please be gentle with me if I ask a dumb question, post this in the wrong forum, etc.  Just remember that I am much farther down the 'Learning Curve' than most of you and all have been where I am now.

Short bio and then I will get to the subject topic.  For years, I have believed in NDE but never gave much thought to OBE.  Then about 6 or 7 weeks ago, I ran across information on OBE and I suddenly realized that if one is to believe in NDE it is only logical to believe in OBE as,in both cases, the brain is at the same relative conscious level.  Being a voracious reader, I began to devour everything in sight.  I have read Robert Bruce's "Astral Dynamics", all 3 of Robert Monroe's books, all 4 of Bruce Moen's, 2 by William Buhlman, and singles by Rosalind McKnight, Albert Taylor, and Richard Peterson.  I have a few more to read.  I said this not to brag about the feat but simply as an illustration that I am dead serious about finding out all I can about this fantastic realm to explore.  I consider myself a modern day "Rip Van Winkle" in that I have been asleep for the past 40 years while so much of this experimentation was going on.

Needless to say, having done all this reading, I have picked up many many techniques in how to achieve the OBE state.  I also learned that over the past several years, I have had many instances of what was probably spontaneous OBE's and wasn't even aware of them as such.  Many cases of floating or flying.  I simply attributed them to dreams and never noticed any vibrations or other sensations.  While I did see other people during these experiences I don't ever remember attempting to talk to any of them.  What I do (now) find strange is that none of them even noticed that I was flying or floating around.  Possibly, they were physical and I was non-physical and they didn't see me or they were also non-physical and what I was doing was common to them.  But, I never remember any of them doing it.

Having read so many books, I have been exposed to many various ways to achieve the OBE state.  I normally just attempt to do it thru relaxation, meditation, self-hypnosis.  I have read that some people can achieve this state without the vibrations but that the vibrational state is present for most people.  This is where I am having the problem.  Only once, about 3 weeks ago, have I reached this vibrational state.  There was no mistaking it.  It didn't just start small and build in intensity.  It was there.  Full force like WHAM!  Also, quite severe.  At this time I decided to lift out and was successful.  Even though I wasn't as light and buoyant as I had expected to be, I was able to float up to what I felt was 2 or 3 feet above my physical body.  I then did a 180 degree roll to see if I could see my body.  It was pitch black and I couldn't see anything.  Possibly, if I had given myself some strong commands like, "Vision now",  "clarity", "see now" etc., I could have.  I then did the reverse roll and settled back in.  Total time out was probably no more than 15 seconds.  The problem I am now having is not being able to achieve the vibrational state again.  I get to what I feel is the  proper threshhold and nothing.  That brings me to the question which I  promished you in the beginning.

Does anyone know if there has been any experimentation of creating the vibrational state artificially?  It seems at least plausible.  If the brain can be 'tricked' into various levels of activity via binaural frequencies, it seems like the body could possibly be tricked into thinking it was in the normal vibrational state if some type of vibrator was placed at the back of the neck or head.  If anyone has any knowledge along these lines, I would like to hear it.  In the meantime, for lack of anything better to do, I am going to try it.  I will let you know if it works.

Thanx.
