NEW = New Energy Ways.

It's an energy stimulation technique developed by Robert Bruce. You can find one version of his NEW stuff on this website.
I need a signature that isn't stupid. :/

I had my first lucid dreams when I began working on NEW.  I also retain dream memory much better on nights that I do NEW before sleep.

I cannot comment on New, Mark, but I can tell you about how I used to never remember my dreams and today I remember at least one dream per night, often two and even three (usually toward the morning sleep cycles).

I understand that you have a journal and are probably auto suggesting yourself before going to bed, etc... In addition to all that I also use herbs (tea) and it seems to work: take some infusion of tea of the following herbs (one or more of these): chamomille, lemon blam (mellissa), catnip (=catmint), passion flower (passiflora), vervain (vervena), hops, valerian,...

Chamomille, catnip, passion flower, .. are weak soothing and sedative, good to relax and have a good night sleep. Valerian is stronger and even used by physician.

As to the memory you can make a sleep pillow (fill in a little pillow with herbs) with rosemay and mugworth (artemisia vulgaris). You can also just smell the rosemary, or some burn it, or I even make a tea out of it (though you might want to add some other herb with it, since it is not that tasty).

This should help you to sleep better, and it is usually after 5-6 hour of sleep that you will remember your dreams, so usually the morning dreams are the dream we remember, though often we can wake up in the middle of the night and remember a (vivid) dream. Rosemary is notorious for improving memory in general.

There are also tips to remember dreams, such as:
- when you start waking up don't move, just lay still and try to get back to the sensation of sleep and dream.
- try to remember only one little piece of hint from your dream and then work your way back to the whole dream from that little piece (you might want to do some checks such as did I dream of an animal? a toilet? a car? a family member? etc... make a list if you wish).

Good luck, and have nice dreams! [|)]

I also find using a little help can make a difference in the quality & rememberance of dreams.  In my case, I find that I always get pleasant dreams when I sleep with green colored stones like jade or malachite.

NEW says that it will increase the lucidity and vividness of your dreams, but nobody has really raved on about it with regards to their dream patterns.Is NEW the ultimate tool for increasing dream recall etc or is it more sided towards OBE`s and AP`s? I`d like to here from people who lucid dream and follow the NEW system to see if I`m likely to get major benefits from it, I have serious trouble relaxing and will probably never manage to concioussly project because of this medical condition, but i have had 2 lucid dreams which lasted about 10 seconds each, so I know I am capable of doing that at least and think I`m going to follow the dream route and try projection from a lucid dream.I never remember my dreams though,hence I never have anything to write into my journal [:(!]
