Dude,

i have a book called "A guide to Kriya Yoga Practice" by Roy Eugene Davis. It's basically a no bulls*** manual for Kriya Yoga practioners written by a guy who is a student in a long lineage of teachers who go back to Mahavatar Babaji, the guy who revived the Kriya Yoga teachings during the 19th century. Maybe it's what yer looking for.

I have been initiated into it, but do not follow all the guidelines faithfully. So basically what I have to say to you will be of little or no value.

i think I'm going to go back to drinking.

thanks for the info chupacabra, could u tell me if kriya is easy or hard to get to grips with?

sorry so late on replying. honestly the only part of it I practice regularly is the meditation and sometime backslide on that too. I have this messed up belief that if I were to follow it fully I would become some boring old hermit/ascetic who would really miss having a big fat juicy steak every now and then. I can't really comment on whether it is difficult to get hold of, because i have not fully embraced it. It seems  the only things you need are some serious self-discipline and fervent desire, but that's easier said than done.

Watch this post, I'm adding links! Chupacabra (or anyone else for that matter), tell us if any of these pages are wrong if you do look at them.

First off, using Google I did a "Kriya Yoga" search and I got one of the most detailed search results I have ever seen. Secondly some quick looks at the first few search hits:

http://www.kriya.org - Main Page Layout [:D][:D] - Seems there is little info regarding self-instruction here, just classes, but it's a nice design I guess.

http://www.yogakriya.org - Main Page Layout [:D][:D] - Has some nice info regarding what Kriology is, but it looks a little class heavy too.

http://www.kriyayoga.com - Basic Everything Up for Grabs Layout [:D][:D][:D] - Floating hearts, very cool page! Seems there is enough info here to read for months! Wow...even multiple languages!

http://www.yoganiketan.net/main.htm - Portal Layout [:D][:D] - Pretty Good for long trips, with PDF format free online books. Lots of scrolling required. The good thing is there seems to be extensive history and biography information.

http://www.babaji.ca/english - I Already Think I know What You Want Layout [:D][:D] - If you absolutely need a conference to go to, here you go! I've never heard of this Babaji before this page, but she looks like she's very well respected! There seems to be little actual technique info, but there is enough to get by on for basic questions and a general overview of Kriya.

http://www.yogananda-srf.org/index.html - Modified Portal Layout [:D][:D] - Good info regarding books and basic lists for following that I could see. It seems there's more info further in but with the other sites available I had no reason to go further than 3 or 4 clicks.

http://www.self-realization.com/kriyayoga.htm - Information Only Layout [:D] - It seems Yogananda from the direct above url has a fan or 2! This seems to scream derivative info to me, so I will assume as such. It's a good printout page for quick reference though!

The last url on the first search page was in German, so I won't go there. It seemed to look like another seminar type setup though so... Anyways, I hope these quick reviews are good enough. Let me know!
I come prepared...with COOKIES! No, you can't have one!

I was initiated over 20 years ago but it seemed to be more of a breathing exercise than a meditation, but i would not discourage you from trying it if you want to explore it. Yogananda/SRF is probably the best resoures in the US.
In the world in general and in this nation
May not even the names disease, famine, war, and suffering be heard.
May virtuous qualities, merit, and prosperity greatly increase
And may continuous good fortune and subline well-being perfectly arise.
