The question did make me laugh, but I certainly wouldn't say it's dumb!

Yes there are beings, in fact entire civilisations that exist in the astral. The big difference between us and them  is that we have both a physical and energy body (could also be described as 'mental' body), where as the denizens of the astral don't have a physical body - thy're pure energy. For this reason, they can contact us in the physical, but generally not become part of it.

I would be interested to know though if anyone here has something of an example where astral entities have lowered their energy / vibration level enough to manifest in a physical form. It may very well be possible, I'm not rally sure!

well, i've never met a material projecting entity myself (that i know of []. i've only dealt with non-physicals), but i have heard some stories directly from (respectable) people who have undergone such events. i won't say any names cause you'll either not likely know them or because they told me in confidence ^_^ (even the advanced psychics didn't want stories like that getting around because they realized it would make them look loopy to other psychics eventhough it's true [xx(]).

I'd say that one way astral beings project into the physical is by clinging to or injecting themselves into the body of someone in embodiment. To the degree that they can modulate their energy/consciousness to blend with that of their host, they can experience something of what it feels like to live and move around in these dense and rather intense bodies we have. Sometimes they influence or even dominate their host briefly in order to really get a thrill.

As far as materializing a physical body of their own, I guess it's not impossible. But it takes a lot of energy which they aren't necessarily very well equipped to gather, store and use. Kind of like me trying to materialize a car when I need to go somewhere. I'd elect to just hitch a ride instead...I think conservation of energy applies in all planes of consciousness.

I let my mind wander off a few days ago and I thought of a question that is mostly dumb (IMO).  Here it goes:  Are there beings native to the astral plane in the same manner we are material beings?  And if so, do they teach themselves material projection?
