In Tibetan Buddhism there is something called Deity Yoga. It involves deliberately creating experiences like what you describe. There are many Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to choose from and the teacher is supposed to do the choosing. Christianity is a lot simpler until you throw in saints and angels. It sounds like your choice is clear if you want to look into how Deity Yoga works.

One time, about 5 years ago, I had a very lucid dream which I considered to be real while I was having it. In the dream, I was in heaven floating in a big, bottomless room. In the room was a huge spirit, about 3 stories high. It was God and we were talking about something, through non-verbal communication, I believe.

Back then, I didn't know what an OBE or AP was like, but now that I've been having them, I'm starting to believe some of my past experiences were indeed AP's and OBE's.

I've never told anyone this story so here it goes.

When I was in the 1st grade I experienced something that set me down a chosen path. One day during class a teacher told half of us to go into the 2nd grade classroom for recess(have no idea why). Anyway I was walking around exploring the room when I came upon a picture of Jesus. Im not sure why it caught my attention, but it was pretty freaky looking. It was jesus standing on a grey cloud and it was sort of dark in the the background. There were faint specks of light coming up through the clouds and I think there were figures far off in the background. It was sitting on the shelf connecting the chalkboard.

So there I was face to face with a picture. I went to pick it up but instead some of my fingers went through the glass. I withdrew my fingers quickly and then just as quickly, put them through again. This was too much for me to handle so I took my fingers out again and ran off screaming. Not sure what happened next so thats where that experience ends.

Flashforward 15 years or so.

During the years after putting my hand through a picture, I became a Christian pretty much by my own choice. The strange thing is, I never dreamed about Jesus or anything of a christian or religious nature at all. This is strange for me as I always have vivid dreams about things that are important it me and for something so important to be left out, it was like something was missing.

One day out of the blue I lost my faith. Not my faith that there is a God, there was no question that there was. I lost faith in a God of mercy and peace. I even asked the question I had once laughed at when asked by others,  "why do you let bad things happen?".

So it was about two months after being angry with God that I awoke one night and couldn't get back to sleep. I got up and watched tv for awhile and then went to try and fall asleep again. After sometime I managed to slowly doze off but at one point I noticed something in the blackvoid I was looking into. It was formless but it was there. I could move but I didn't want to so I just kept looking forward through closed eyes. All of a sudden I saw a glowing cross. I was happy and afraid all at once. I experienced a strange sense of happiness and felt for the first time in a long while that life was great. The vision left after about a minute and because it was gone, I got up and couldn't be bothered to go back to sleep. I stayed up for the rest of the night and thought about what I saw. I reaffirmed my loyality to God that morning.

After that vision, i've been having strange dreams involving a huge cathedral and one small chuch.

Thats about all of my experiences i've had of that nature. I'll try to think of more because I have a feeling im leaving out something.

Hi Jeni, Thanks for your reply to my post & sharing your God encounter. You are blessed! I have had  this where I have non-verbal communication. It is all thought transfer to thought transfer. I wonder what you were talking about? I am sure it was very important to you both!

Nerezza Good morning & thanks for sharing your Christ encounter. It was very interesting how your hand went through the framed picture of Jesus. To me it seems that it was meant to be planned (framed) that your soul would seek Christ. During your questioning period He was there showing you HIS cross (How Beautiful !). That we all suffer (carry crosses) and suffering = soul growth. The other dreams could mean your soul keeps connect to the source (Christ) when out of body.

Another note: I too have seen a glowing cross in the sky in a obe. It was wood but glowing from behind then it turned into a sword. Again thanks for sharing.
