hey, I don't have anything that can help you but your dream reminds me in a strange way of a dream I had a while back:

I was fighting/fleeing a horde of demon-like rats with fiery eyes. They were absolutely terrifying creatures and their numbers were endless but I knew somehow (in that funny way you just know things in dreams) that if I killed the Queen rat that was emersed somwhere within the horde that the rest would die as well. The battle took place in a house with a deck and I was armed with a strange weapon that shot wooden stakes. I was on the deck and all the rats were inside trying to get out at me. finally at some point they found a way out and began to pour out onto the deck. In desperation I bolted for the window of an empty room and climbing in and slammed the window shut.
Instantly the rats were upon the window, screeching and banging trying to either pry it open or simply break it through shear force of numbers. That's when I saw her: the queen rat pressed against the window, fat and wicked, learing at me with a dark treachury. I thought to myself that I could take a risk and shoot at her through the closed window and end all of this. If I missed though I would break the window and seal my fate. I decided to gamble (high stakes) and raising my gun took aim and fired....... The wooden stake flew true, straight at the qeen rat.... then bounced off the window.
The gun only loaded one stake and was far too weak to break the glass. These were thoughts that flew threw my head as I fled into an adjacent room for the rats had managed to pry the window open and were pouring in by the hundreds. I ran for the outdoors; for some reason straight for the door leading to the deck (I guess I really wanted to win this fight). As I stepped out onto the deck the a sudden revelation came to me: this is a dream. As clear as day I realised I was dreaming and can you guess what it is that I always do without fail when I realize I'm dreaming? Having all the powers of god at my disposal the first thing I always do without fail is to fly! So I did. I took off into the sky looking down at all the demon rats scampering about on the deck below and feeling a deffinate rush of both triumph and shear joy for the power to fly.
It was at this point that victory became the simplest of things. Looking at my right hand which still held the now useless stake gun I concentrated on it and watched with satisfaction as it slowly elongated and morphed into a sleak and deadly sniper rifle. Then I dove; like a wicked nightmare incarnate I brought death down upon the invading swarm.
The effect was geneocidoly accurate. For as I alighted upon the deck not a creature stirred not even a mouse (sorry had to). Walking across the deck though I saw that one of the rats had was not completely lost to the underworld yet. I picked him up and wondered at the slowly fading glow that eminated from him. Then he spoke. He spoke to me for a moment with ominous tones, saying simply: "I was born from the fires of thine eyes but never learned to feel.
That was it. That's how the dream ended. It was one of the strangest dreams I've had to date not because of anything that happened save for that dieing statement for it seemed to carry so much weight, so much importance.

Sorry for the legthy tale. I don't know if it has any relevance to your dream or not (probably not) but your dream reminded me of it for some reason.

Thanks for listening

The thing about mine though, it relates to my real life.
This " cat " that was in my dream ( which I actually own ) has a tendency to attack me minorly, for no reason.  He also scares me for that fact.

Renaisance

Yeah, I know. It just reminded me of my dream for some reason. Just thought I'd share.

Life_afterdeath

It's okay renissiance.  However, oddly enough, the house you described reminds me of mine.

Do not fear the darkness. Seize it! Transform it! Make it your own and rejoice! there is a great strength in this darkness. Run from it and it shall catch you. Hunt it and yo will be victoious

I have had a history of coming across black animals.  I've had a black ginuea pig, a black dog, two black cats, and a black rabbit.  These animals are all deceased, all but just one.  The black cat.  I have hypothesized that there is a pattern here.  None of these animals have ever existed at the same time.  They have all been part of my life at different points.  However, these animals come to be under my ownership by accidental means.  This dream I about to tell you of what may be the case, though very unlikely.

In this dream I had, I was with this black cat.  Things were normal.  I was petting it and paying attention to it as I usually do.  Somehow, a thought hit me in the dream that scared me.  It scared me because of its likelyness.  Some voice in my dream told me that there is a dark soul that is drawn to ME, which is being reborn through numerous animals.  Its dark nature causes the animal that it is born into to have dark colored fur at birth.  Every time the soul becomes mature enough to remember its purpose, the animal dies.  After this, the soul must be reborn into another, and must change fate to find its way to me.  Not until this dark soul gets to me will the line of black animals end.

After the voice told me this, I became very fearful, dropping the cat.  The cat then began to mock me, sickly.  It's meow became deep and bellowful.  Its eyes finallly showed the dark, gruesome character that it beared.  This scared the living hell out of me.

Not long after this point in the dream, the voice had reached me once again.  It told me of a secret that only I had ever been told before.  The dark soul(s), which the animals that keep finding their way to my life are part of, have a secret lettering.  It is a lettering that relays ideas...as well as emotion.  I have named this lettering, "The lettering of hate."  It can be seen only by those who recognize it.  Its composition resembles that of normal words, but with a different shape.  The voice in the dream tried to explain this to me.  It is like scrambled bits of words, mixed up in swirls.  They are very hard to sort out.  Some of it makes hardly any sense to someone who sees it, since the lettering can be upsidedown, sidways, or backwards.  However, these bits of lettering are everywhere, and should be feared when seen.

Also, the voice told me of a location in Europe that is the source of the evil.  It is a four-storey structure in the side of a mountain, with spiritual doors that represent a new breed of dark soul.  The names of the top two, as well as the bottom were very odd names that I can't recall, but I recall the third.  So altogether, the structure appeared like this.

1. The top section

2. The lower section

3. The midriff

4. Bottom doors.

This structure, as described by the voice, is very large.  At least 150 feet high.  The midriff section is composed of a sandy floor.  It resembles a small desert environment.  The bottom represents the purest of evil.  The top two, I cannot remember what the voice said they resemble.

When I woke up from this dream, I was terrified.  In my room, it was pure darkness, all except my computer monitor which was still on.  For me, this created an ominous room where this dream felt like it would continue on.  I got up as quick as I could, turning on a light, being glad it was over.  Leaving this dream was like exiting from a true, dark realm.

Although this was a dream, it could have meant something.  The subconscious does not usually relay thoughts this well.  What was the voice I was hearing?  I'm not quite certain of that.  I surely hope that I don't see any "lettering of hate" though.  For this will show me the truth and validity of the dream, so I will dread the day I see any.  I'm confused about what I should think of all this?  Has anyone heard anything similar?

Wow those are some scary dreams.
I just remember a dream that i had a couple of years ago.
I was walking thru this dark road until i got to this dark place with bunch of rocks every were, they were a couple of feet high. I had chains around my hands, and feet. There were other people like that too. Then i saw th devil. he had like some type of leash to hit us. He was hitting me and the other people too. I was relly scared until my grandmother came, she is a very religious person and she had a necklace with jesus crucified. I felt not scared and i started to run. then like i always do in a nightmare i switch my dreamlto another. or i try to wake myself up but i just wake up in another dream. sometimes i do wake up. Then when i switched to another dream i was in a white room. then i saw a black virgen, jesus mother.
Then  i woke up.
i used to get a lot of scary but i mean scary dreams.
When i was little and it was dark in the house i went down to the kitchen and when i was going up i said to myself devil you cant catch me and i started running up the stairs. i used to do that all the time. But since now i am more mature and i dont believe in the devily i dont do that anymore.
Well i wished a had more time but i am in school and the period its almost over,.
See thou family later![:P]

Soulfire

I know this is not going to be a real popular opinion on this site, but I don't believe "evil" exists.  When I was younger, I believed in it (that's how I was raised).  I even saw demons a few times during spontaneous astral projections and had many experiences I could only describe as being encounters with "pure evil".  Now this probably has readers saying, well that is really DUMB Soulfire if you have SEEN and experienced evil and demons yourself, and yet you say you don't believe in them?

Well let me point out that back when I saw and experienced these thigns, I DID believe in evil...very strongly in fact.  As my beliefs changed, and I started understanding why "people" sometimes do things that we often LABEL as evil actions...I slowly began to change my beliefs (this happened progressively over many years).  I now believe that our beliefs create our experience, including the existance of good and evil.  If we believe anything exists, then it will exist in our experience.

Now regardless of whether you agree with me or not about the nature of so-called evil, here is what I ask you to consider:

When I stopped believing in evil, I also stopped seeing and experiencing evil.  I (slowly) began to stop seeing "Demons" and really creepy things that used to happen in my life (and dreams).  I also stopped having extended feelings of depression and other unexplained intense negative emotions that I always used to believe were "neg attacks" directed against me.  I know other people who have stopped believing in evil who report similar experiences as their beliefs change.  Maybe it is worth considering the possibility that when we experience these types of "evil" manifestations, that it is actually just our belief in evil that is actually creating them.  All I can say for sure is that my own personal daily experience of life has become a lot more beautiful since I stopped believing in evil.  Maybe yours would too?

In response to soulfire and the existance of evil. In some ways I agree with you and in others I do not. while certain things are "labeled" as evil so in fact is everything we know in the entire universe. Emotions and actions and items are all in the long run subject to labels. Despite the fact that these things are labeled it does not diminish in any way the reality and existance of the object. ie if you were to take something such as a jar, the word jar is in itself a label but if you were to take away the label it would not cause the jars existance to be eradicated. it would still be the same object it was before simply minus our association and analysis of it. the same can be said for evil. Evil is simply a type of energy, one that exists at a different frequency than that of good. True the words good and evil are labels and could just as easily be flipped: good being called evil and evil being called good (this already happens mind you) but they are still there and the nature of these things is in no way impacted by the label. the only thing affected by the label is our perspective.

You make it sound irrelevant. That's everything we have! :D

I would take this dream seriously. I know people who have been
taken over by sprits who were up to no good. They even tried to
make the victim commit suicide.

This could be just a schizophrenic type nightmare. Or it could be a
real warning. I would say that having that cat in your life is not
a good thing. There have been too many black animals.

You need to ask around for a psychic of known reputation. You have
some big questions to explore. One is, what is really with this
cat? Is it just a cat, or not.? I don't think it is just a cat. I
have known some mean cats. One attacked another young cat because
this newcomer was getting more attention than she was. But that is
mild compared to what you might be dealing with.

Another question is, what attracted this spirit to you? People with
positive outlooks do not attract negative spirits. What is the
fascination? Do you have a hidden dark side? Or a good side that
this spirit does not like?

Another question is, what in the world will you do with this cat?
Having it in the house wit you is not good. That means it is
succeeding with its plans and getting to you. If you have it put
down, where will the spirit go next? To do what? Can you
communicate with it in some unusual way? Find out anything?
What does it mean when the cat attacks you? What is that all about?

Also, your fear is not good. That may be part of it, to try to make
you afraid. Your fear is rational. But there is a need for
defiance, command, authority. It is your life, and you control what
gets into it. How do you confront the cat? I don't know, but maybe
with your thoughts and your speech. You will need help, someone who
can deal with this. You don't know how powerful the creature is.
Being able to make the fur come out black would be powerful. That
is a genetic intervention. Spirits can sometimes do that, produce
birthmarks from a previous life. Or impose their previous
appearance over what is expected from genetics.

Maybe a psychic can see the cat's aura. I remember reading about
someone who was told by everyone who could see auras, that his aura
was black.

To Irreal: While our perspective isn't irrelivant it still does not change the nature of the beast. whether we call evil by one label or abother, whether we call it evil or cheese it does not change the nature of what it is. If you throw a brick through somones window it doesn't matter how you preceive the action because the affect is still the same. Perspective affects only our reality but there is still the reality that everyone else lives in.
