In Roberts book astral projection I think he says that once out of the body he moves outside if at night he picks the farthest star, planet,or galexy he can focus on and flys twards it at the fastest speed possable this usually causes a blur and a reality shift and he usually ends up in the astral plain. You should get his book if you don't have it its full of usefull info. Good Luck and happy flying

The real-time zone is not so easy to stay in, I've read. How do you do it?

If you set up a picture of something and illuminate it so that it is clearly reflected in a mirror you can go into the reflection. Approach your setup and with a clear mind go into the mirror as though it were not the mirror but rather the place you have reflected in it. Robert Bruce called it "virtual reality projection" in his writings. Actually, moving through any reflective surface can have this effect.

To go into higher planes you must have higher energies in your main chakras. Meditation and practice with energy work will help you with this.

I can't give you advice from personal experience; I always want to be in the real time zone so I have never tried to go anywhere else. But I am always happy to comment anyway! Based on my reading various authors:

What makes sense to me intuitively is to ask for a non-physical helper next time you are out. I understand that this is supposed to work, but that how it manifests is hard to predict. Maybe just a feeling or an impression, or maybe a fully formed person.  However, believe your request will be answered. Then I guess it is up to you what to do with it - whether to ask it to take you somewhere or to let it decide what might be best.

I did ask for a helper once in a real time projection - and I saw some sort of energy and a person. (So there were then three of us there.) THe person, in the experience, was deceeased recently. I got his name, but I am having trouble figuring out how to verify it.

Anyway, I never left the real time zone. Maybe that was an opportunity for me to go visit where ever this departed soul was going.  But I have my own belief issues, so I didn't do that.

try it, I am curious if it will work for you.

Q for everyone - is a landscape that doesn't have a physical counterpart always an astral level? Or could it still be real time with some sort of overlay of personal imagination?

Having no actual clue I'll offer  this http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_wink.gif" border=0>
I think I read somewhere (actually now that I think of it several places) that the result of going into a picture is figmentary world created by the subconscious. It probably exists in the RTZ but is completely imaginary regardless of the real world existence of what the images is about.

Monroe said (he is no longer living) that he was able to affect physical objects while out of body. I heard that he was able to pinch one of his friends and that he accidentally caused a big bruise, which was not his intention.

this works for a friend of mine, who has been a practitioner for almost 30 years:

Imagine an in-between kind of place.  For instance, a mirror (as stated previously), a doorway, or a bridge.  Know that your destination is on the other side.  Go there.

good luck!

Sometimes flying is easy, sometimes it's a strife. There's this weird thing that happens at times when I try to fly up high fast - I can manage to go up about 2 - 3 meters and then something pulls me backwards, keeping me from going anywhere. I haven't been able to fly really fast for some time, at least not under my control. When I happen to go somewhere really fast it feels as if I'm being taken. For instance, one of these days I wished to see a sunset while projecting, and I was immediatly 'dragged' to a place where the sun was setting.

I can't really control the extent to wich I remain in the real time zone. They say you need a good supply of etheric matter in other to remain there. I've noticed that nearby my physical body I can stay in real time, and as I wihdraw from it I 'slip' into the astral dimension. That 'slip' is not perceived, I just get to see MUCH more thought-forms than real physical structures.
But I wonder, if maybe you could create some subjective way to keep your astral body receiving etheric matter from your physical/etheric body then you could remain in real time regardless on how far you go. I never tried this, but you could visualize and densify your silver cord, or imagine that your energy body expands so much that it embraces all the universe. The etheric body is also known as energy body.

Oh, I remember doing the virtual reality projection once. I was probably floating in real time just a little above my physical body, everything seemed so normal that I thought I was having an hallucination (wich is quite usual also), I saw this image reflected on the tv screen, it was the bedroom of a house where I lived a couple of years ago. I didn't think much, just naturally entered into that image and ended up in my old bedroom.

The idea of walking through a mirror is always interesting. Once I did this by pretending the mirror was made of water. This is also one of the many tests you can make to check your lucidity level. You can also try to walk through a wall, and increase the brightness of the place where you are (e.g.: change night into day).

Regarding the energy work, I've been doing the energy breathing exercise suggested by Robert Bruce => breath in brightly coloured energy and breath out murky grey air.

I read it can be a problem to call out for unknown spirits. How was your experience with that guide? Do you still see him?

Only once I remember having someone else by my side during a projection. I suddenly was brought to this place, a community in the mountains, surrounded by a forest. It was the best experience I've ever had. Flying above the forest I could breath the cool air, feel it touch my face and get into my lungs giving me life. There were birds singing in the woods, it was amazing, the person by my side was showing me all that, I only understood. I couldn't see who it was, there was just this presence and the feeling, it was very peaceful. When it was over I completly forgot who I was... forgot I had a body, forgot I had a physical life, forgot everything, I had seen everything I could possibly have wanted to see and nothing else was important anymore.
It took some time to get in touch with my body again, I was floating in the infinite blackness and I could see pink figures passing by, a pink moon, pink bird, pink star, and suddenly again I was brought back to my body, as if someone had taken me for a walk and then put me back to my cradle. The sensation was that of being born again. I felt as if a wave had washed my soul and then gone.
I almost cry when I remember this! ;)

Thanks for all the replies.

Hi,

I've been developing my skills of astral projection for almost 2 years now.
Usually I get into trance during the sleep and create the sensation of leaving the body. The method I use the most is to spin around, after doing this for a while I notice myself floating away from bed, or already standing in the middle of my bedroom. I can also induce my legs to start floating and then I follow the motion with the rest of the body, shoving myself out. Another thing that I used to do was to visualize and feel myself standing up and walking towards my bedroom door and soon the images would appear in front of me.

All of these ways to exit get me into a real time projection. I have learned that during the trance 'to think = to do; to make', and all I have to do is to think of it happening to make it happen.

Now I'm willing to have different experiences with astral projection. To spin and float around in my bedroom became some kind of an out of body routine. It's not boring, things don't always look the same when I fly out through the window, but I'm always somewhat close to the physical plane. And I believe it is a waste of time to have a projection to my bedroom if I could start it from somewhere else.

Before I found out I could create the sensation of leaving the body I would just stop all thoughts and listen to the sounds of the trance (waterfalls, rain, wind, melodies), or try to visualize some landscape. My friend said I should visualize something and start living it, this rarely worked for me. The images eventually appeared and they were never like what I had imagined, it was cool anyways. I've also had some great experiences listening to the sounds, or just letting it happen without any interference on my part.

Does anyone know anything else I could concentrate during the trance in order to project to a different place, higher realms?

I was in trance today and tried not to interfere with the process, I felt the vibrations and moved my eyes upwards like Robert Bruce says and it did increase the vibrations. I started seeing a rose, it was moving in circles around my view then it suddenly flourished, I didn't get to leave the body. It was really nice by the way.

It seems that most great experiences happen when we just let them happen. Like Robert Bruce said once while meditating he heard a pure note playing, he concentrated on it and was guided to a meeting with deceased relatives.

I would like to receive some comments, please. Do you people remember what you did or how you did it when you had a very good experience?

Thank you.
