I don't really understand why you included the first lines, but I know what you mean.

I've certainly been giving that alot of thought latley, the question "What do you want to be doing with your life, and why aren't you doing it?".
We are not truly lost, until we lose ourselves.

Lighthouse

I included the first 2 lines because it was relevent to me and my day... but I guess you're right, nobody else cares so I'll take it out.

SOOOO What would you Do?

I have thought about this a lot over the past few years and I decided that I wanted to teach my message and be a Motivational Speaker/Writer.  I want to help people to see themselves as the Perfect and Unique, as a pure expression of Love and Divine in their own right (I had a Revelation as Christians would put it a few years back and this is what I learned through that experience.)I'm well on my way to fulfilling that dream.  I really wouldn't change anything right now, I have just completed my first full length book (it's with my editor right now) and have been speaking for a few years.  I I haven't always been in this space though.

When I was in my 20's my life was filled with ups & downs and I realized that the only thing standing between myself and my dreams was my own fear of the unknown.  After the Revelation, I knew that My Being was Divine and that of everyone else was too, that we are all manifestations of perfection.  It is only our social and cultural conditioning that makes us believe otherwise.

So, If I could not fail, I would do exactly what I'm doing... making a difference in people's lives by showing them how to see their own perfection.

as ive mentioned a few other times the one thing i really wanna be is a marine biologist. Ever since i was 11 when i got certified for scuba diving ive been really interested in the ocean and marine life. ive been doing all i can to make this come true (going to marine biology camps, working at my local aquarium, etc.) even though a lot of people say im too young to know what i want to do i truely believe this is what its gonna be :P. plus my other goals in life are to have a family and some kids and live happily and stuff.. i dont really care if im rich or not as long as im happy [:)] Finally i want to do all i can to help everyone else! [:D]

Hi,

Good points.

Gosh if I had such direction when mazdaaf's age. But not to worry, as I find myself comforted in following intuitively leds feelings , which have now led me towards a truly creative and positive direction in life. A feel very blessed!

Sod peer and family pressure I say!!!

Cheers,

Mazdaaf,

When I was a kid, I wanted to be a singer... People told me that it was an unrealistic dream.  Now that I'm a Speaker, people tell me all the time that I should think about a singing career because I have such a strong voice (and in my speeches, I really fill the room with my voice sometimes without the use of a microphone) I have always loved my voice and now I know I could be a singer if I wanted.  I have no more interest in being a singer and I think I've always just wanted to use my voice in my occupation and deliver messages with it.  The messages that I deliver are much more encompassing, complete and wholistic than I could do in a song, so I'm happy with what I'm doing... I don't really feel I've given up my childhood dream... I'm still using my voice.

Hold on to your dreams.  Often times others tell us we "can't" do something because that is what they were told about their dreams... so they gave their dreams up and spend their lives searching, trying to reclaim themselves and they don't realize that they had what they needed to make themselves happy all along.  Stephen Speilberg at age 13, would sneak down to film shoots because that's what he always wanted to do... Do you think the movie ET ever would have been made if he decided to listen to that "well meaning" advice?  I don't.

That desire to be a marine biologist lives within you because it is something you will love and it is my belief that we need to figure out what we love and then figure out a way of being paid for it... not the other way around (figuring out how to make money and try to like our job)  Life's too short to do something you won't love.

And you know what?... If you find out that you don't like Marine Biology, you will have another dream that is more in line with what you really want to do (like I did... I never really liked reading music but I love reading personal development books and passing along what I've learned through my message and my voice.)

you see your talking career dreams. Yes ever since i was about 8 years old after doing a report on the flying fish i wanted to be a marine biologist. here where i live we dont have an aquarium the nearest one is almost 3 hours away.  i would volunteer there... or even work there now, but i cant. my city is planning on getting an aquarium but we cant even keep our zoo open. Chaffee zoological Gardens in fresno, california. AND THEY WANT TO GET AN AQUARIUM. i oppose but i do want one soo bad.

Then i became interested in Astronomy when i was about 11.

over the years i have wanted to be a lawyer, doctor, vet and more, but a marine biologist always stayed as well as astronomer as it came along. then i had a passion for INDIANA JONES. I wanted to be him so badly. thats when i was interested in Archeaology so interesting. then Cryptology which tags along with archeaology.

People tell me still see you have so many choices you dont know what you want to be. their right i have alot of choices but they are wrong see i HAD it all planned out.

i would be an astronomer in my own time, do archeaology when i was called for a "dive"or dig same either way , and do  cryptology wile i was at it. and then do marine biology other time. but im not sure i want to be jammed pack with all that stuff.

I like the subjects alot. and so if i could succeed and never fail i would bee all those

FreeFaller

I just thought about this.

What about the non-career dreams?
ok yeah we have dreams of what we want to be when we grow up.
WE have dreams were strange things happen(e.g an orangatang(that monkey)in your backyard that fell in love with a tree)
WE all have dreams were we can do something we wish.

IF i could always succeed and never fail you know what i would be going?

First off i would be living in water, second of all my all time favorite dreams are these:

i can fly (everybody has had a dream where they fly al least once in their life) not jump up and im off, but like there are certain requirements. i had to be high up say on a cliff then i had to jump off and fall a long way before i could fly.

if i could do that i would be ...a flying fish (which ties into my last post)[me doing the report on the flying fish]{which actually glides not flyies} see:

me living in water as in a fish not actually a fish but liek a fish
and then flying like a bird

so flying fish... if only i could i would be flying over the sierra nevade mountains over to...mazdaafs house. i would meet all people.

but you see...what wait was this thing on dreams or never failing?

i forgot... anybody catch my point?

beavis

If I couldnt fail, I'd tear holes in this physical place that lead to astral. I'd increase my power until I could fly like superman. And then I'd wake up and be ticked off it was just a dream.

Lighthouse

Beavis, What if you're dreaming now?  That you have limitations and they are just imaginary?  That you're stuck inside a dream?

Freefaller, I would say that applies to everything.  We choose our experiences and for many people a little bit older than you, they feel that they "can't" do things and are stuck because of their perceived limitations... fear holds them back from fully experiencing life.

It sounds to me like the more you explore your interests, the more things will become clear to you... trial and error.  Do what you love and things will unfold naturally for you.  It sounds like you & Mazdaaf are very close and you both have parents that encourage you to pursue your interests.

Here's something to think about... You are interested in Archaeology and SCUBA and Marine Biology... Here's a link for you : http://www.touregypt.net/featurestories/heracleum.htm

Maybe something like what these people are doing would be up your alley... or not.  You don't have to decide now... you'll be figuring out "what you want to be when you grow up" probably your whole life... I just had lunch with one of my best friends yesterday and she was telling me she still hasn't figured out what she wants to "be" when she grows up.  Life is a Journey... not a destination.

So on that journey... since it's a journey and not a destination, you can not fail... we choose our experiences, we may just choose different experiences than others would choose for us and that's what makes us all unique.

The key to being happy with your work/career is figuring out what you love to do and get someone to pay you for it.

I'm learning the same lessons, only it doesn't pertain to career, I've found that.  It pertains to my personal relationships... I just haven't figured out what I want yet.  When I do, I'll know.

If I was determined to fail, could anything keep me from success?

Heh, couldn't resist.  [:P]

Seriously though - write a good book.  :)

Many people are determined to fail, whether they are conscious of it or not.
Alice had got so much into the way of expecting nothing but out-of-the-way things to happen, that it seemed quite dull and stupid for life to go on in the common way.

I do those holosync meditation CDs and they always send e-mail newsletters talking about getting over negative things in the subconscious to acheive whatever you want in life- like the power of positive thinking- but they use positive subliminals on their CDs when you are in deep delta meditation state. This should really stick and get you into where you really believe in yourself and can finally get over all that self doubt and acheive whatever you set your mind on. I am about to make those subliminals by telephoning them onto a tape and they have some pretty cool ideas for this that sound super positive:

example:

I am a success. I can be, do and have everything I want. I see each day as a new and positive adventure. I love my work. I have unlimited personal power and I always use it for the good of all. I can do anything I put my mind to.

This or  similar affirmations will be recorded in my voice subliminally behind the meditation sound track. I can imagine this sort of thing could help in reprogramming people with a negative self image. I mean like all my bad experiences and habits are just subliminals/mantras running deep in the subconscious possibly from previous lives or whatever.

I read that before the 4th birthday kids are always in Delta waves so you can't remember much of what happens before then as you only go into delta waves in a deep trance or in deep sleep. Between 4 and 7 years old you stay at theta waves which is dream state or light trance. Just think if my mother always called me an idiot and failure at 2 years old it would be damned hard to overcome that as it would be forgotten in deep subconscious and etched in stone there so that it would become reality.

So reprogramming needs really deep and serious work. It does not really matter what one does externally. This is just showing what you have changed internally.

Oh yeah, by the way, as a kid I wanted to be a writer(3rd grade) and then a nuclear physicist(4th grade) and later at 13 or so for a while a priest. I think my spiritual hobbies and intellectual hobbies are sort of fulfilling all those dreams in a way and they are even expanding my horizons from year to year.
A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds.
There's more than one way to skin a cat.

Lighthouse

Galactic,

I was going to do that at one point... my suggestion, get a mixer, you can get one for like $100.00 at Radio Shack.  you can record those messages so that they are mixed with your music and just below conscious audibilty level so you concscious mind can't detect the messages but you subconscious mind gets it.

I agree, positive affirmations on a subliminal CD are the way to go... They do the work with very minimal effort. I think evreyone should have them permanently in their cd player.

Lighthouse, in a way we are dreaming now. I posted a thread about it a while back. The problem is the other people dont know it and THEY limit me here.

I believe this "physical reality" is all an illusion.  I also believe that the only person who can limit us is ourselves.  You limit you... Other people are your mirrors to see what you perceive as your own limitations.  You create the Universe as you want to see it, we are merely in your life to show you your own beliefs.  If you don't like the way you expereice the world, you need to change your outlook.

(I know I may be getting really out there for some... so my apologies to those of you who are like "WHAT the F&*% is she talking about.")

I think "physical reality" is real in some way. The illusion is that we usually cant see whats around it, and the many places like it close to it that we can go to physically.

I say other people limit me because the only way to prevent that is to die. I could choose to die, but while I'm here, they mostly control the laws of physics.

mazdaaf

i totally agree to Lighthouse-- at first i would get annoyed when no one would believe me about psi and stuff until i realized that if that is how they want to live then thats their choice not mine. After all the AP experiances ive had i have a whole new view on what is really real and such. So now i dont care what others believe becasue thats their point of view and not mine. I've also learend that nothing is impossible if you try hard enough, which is something a lot of people disbelieve. Maybe if everyone looked at the world in a different way, things that seem impossible will be possible.

also- yeah freefaller and i are freakishly simular-- and im really happy to have parents that encurage me to do what i really love instead of saying "be a doctor or a lawyer" or "no u cant do that, stop dreaming". Although a lot of people do discourage me, i just use that to help me reach my goal. Sometimes a little anger can make you work to ur fullest and help you get what you need to get done. [;)]

If anything is possible and only I limit myself, why cant I levitate heavy things? I know its possible, but maybe impossible for me right now. Even when I ignore that and refuse to see anything but what I intend to happen, all I see is the stuff shaking a little in the real time zone.

Lighthouse

People have levitated before, particularly by Saints and the like; here are a few links.

I am not associated with any of these web sights, however as you see, there is plenty of information out there that says it can be done therefore you can indeed do it.

You don't believe you can do it so therefore you can't.

If there were no chance that you could possibly FAIL, what would you do?

It is THIS seed that is planted in you, this desire that can bring out your true nature and your life purpose, your true happiness.  A dream is merely a glimpse of your full potential.

Another way of saying it is: If you could Only succeed, what would you do?

What is stopping us all from living our dreams?  I'm hoping we can work together to help each other recognize our own special gifts, give support and encouragement to do it.
