Howdy Tre,
I can definitely relate to some degree. I made a post a while back where I experienced tunnels/visions (it was quite full-on) and Im fairly sure I awoke to these things rather than them appearing slowly. Perhaps your mind falls asleep trying to induce this and your astral body/dream mind remembers you were trying to get the effect and wakes you up in the middle of it?? If that makes any sense. Itd be good if there were some technique that accomplished this with a good chance of success, itd mean you wouldn't have to try and relax, because youd be asleep, and you wouldnt have to stop thinking because youre... asleep :D
I guess going OBE during a lucid dream is along these lines. Pity Ive never had/remembered a lucid dream.

Cheers

Welcome Tre232,

I have awakened to very strong OBE sensations in the past and rolled over on one side and set the process rolling.  My feeling is that you were very close.  I work til midnight and get to sleep late.  I play around with OBE techniques until I either OBE, fall asleep (which usually happens)or get tired of trying. I have not been too concerned with accidentally falling asleep in the past because I often wake up with sensations. Sometimes the sensations don't produce anything and I still come up empty.

Whenever you're in sleep paralysis if you relax and do deep breaths you'll OBE every time.

Last night i relaxed, got myself into a trance, and tried to see if i could have my first OBE.  After about 1 1/2 hours of relaxing and trying i was having no luck.  Everytime i started to feel mild vibrations comming on i would do something stupid and think about my body or my mind would start running about something else. I had to get up and goto work in 4 hours so i said ok i'll try this tomorrow again, like i've been doin every day for the past few weeks.  So i went to sleep like usual. Strange part was that about an hour after i went to sleep i woke up, and as soon as i was conscious i realized i was having very very strong vibrations (They might have been what woke me up). My body was somewhat paralyzed and i had needle like sensations all over it and some other strange feelings.  I had to get some sleep for work so i didn't attempt an exit method because i knew i couldn't stay awake because i'd never get up for work in 2 hours.

I found this very strange in that i have gotten vibrations before but only after a long time of meditation and never as strong as last night. I wish i didn't have to get up so early so i could have tried to achieve my first OBE.  What i was wondering is has this happend to anyone else on here?  Where u just wake up in the middle of sleepin and your whole body is vibrating?  Is that normal i haven't heard of such a thing from anyone else.  I have heard of when waking up trying to focus on it then the vibrations come and OBE shortly after but at least those persons were TRYING to make something happen.  I wasn't TRYING to do anything at this time.  Although i was an hour or 2 earlier.

Thanks for your comments,

Tre
