JustSomeTris,
Sounds like your making progress. Keep going. [:)]

I have been doing a lot of work on dream recall the last 2 months and getting slowly more lucid dreams or half lucid dreams occasionally with lots of strange sensations and confusing turns for example where I am in a dream in a dream trying to visualize or control things as if I were really awake and doing a lucidity/OBE technique.

After a while I stopped trying too hard to get lucid and relaxed and it just sort of comes of itself.

I hope this will be your experience as well.

The more you remember your dreams the easier it gets to become lucid and the more time in the lucid state the easier it gets to manipulate the environment(flight/going through solid objects, etc.) I am just hoping to be able to get beyond simple mechanical control to going somewhere special on purpose or seeing someone I know or checking out the past or future or maybe an astral plane or the universe.

Hi, Tris.

I don't think your experience had anything to do with lucid dreaming. I think you were falling into trance. You probably felt like you were bigger than usual or that your body isn't quite in place. And that's a good thing. You're making progress but I don't think it will help with lucid dreaming.

If you want to have lucid dreams you should program yourself to check reality while dreaming, if you aren't already doing that.

Wish you luck!

So far so good!

Initial trance and pre-pre-projection sensations.

If you were able to say "I'm falling asleep. I'll be lucid" you're on a solid path to OBE and lucid dreaming. Most people spend years getting to that point.
Keep at it.

I have experienced that a couple of times myself (vibrations). I try to jump into a dream while vibrating so I can have an amazing LD experience.  Sometimes they just go away and sometimes they bring me into a LD experience.

Sounds like progress to me that you are making.  Good luck and keep up the good work.

I agree that your experience should not be considered to be "lucid dreaming" or even a necessary part of the lucid dreaming experience.  You quite simply were almost in a trance state. We have to differentiate, because being in a trance state has broader implications than being in a lucid dream state.  You can do many different things from a trance state, and no one really knows all the abilities available from this state.  The abilities could include:  astral projection or obe, lucid dreaming, channeling (if you believe in such a thing), telepathy, remote viewing, and on and on and on and on.   Lucid dreaming, to me, is quite specific.

I said that your experience may not even be necessary for lucid dreaming, because many of us often enter lucid dreams without being awake.  It sounds like you were obviously awake.  If your goal is only to lucid dream, you should follow the "tried and true" methods that eveyone talks about.  Trust me, they do work.  However, if you believe that you can repeat your experience you could be open to experiencing a more broad range of ESP.

I've personally gone through both routes.  I find that entering trance states and then other ESP states is quite a task when compared to lucid dreaming.  Lucid dreaming is suprisingly easy (and very rewarding) when you strictly follow the procedures as outlined by more experienced lucid dreamers.

That's my two cents.

G'day all, new member here, I don't post alot but last night something happened i have to post.

I stayed up till about 3am so i was pretty tired. When I went to bed I was laying there and I drifted off to sleep, I dont remember dreaming for that part but I awoke at this point and this is where it got weird. I think I semi awoke my consious but my body was still asleep. All was dark and I felt alot of pressure around me, I started to sink into sleep and I remember thinking "Yes, I'm going to be lucid when the dream happens" but I only sunk a little further then I woke up.

Sorry if it's not really specific, I didn't write it down becuase immediatly after I tried for it to happen again, but i just had a normal dream.

ALmost lucid dream? Begginging of AP?
