I heard a very loud boom sound when I opened the door.  It was weird as the noise occurred right when I was starting to wake up.  I thought at first something in the house dropped but when I checked, everything was in place.

Not sure how to interpret this:

I have practiced astral projection for a long time.  I haven't been able to project for a while but still practice the different techniques.

Last night I had a dream I was in some sort of school (I didn't recognize it).  I was walking and saw some sort of shadows or ghosts moving away from me as I walked near them.   I came to a turn where I could continue down a hallway on the left or go through a door on the right.  I felt a really strong pulling sensation towards the left but really felt I needed to go through the door.  The pulling sensation is what I felt before when astral projecting.  I ignored the sensation and went through the door on the right.

I don't know why or how to explain it but even though the pulling sensation to the left was great, I had a really strong (willful) determination to go through the door on the right.

Any idea or interpretation on what all this means?

Lumaza - So you just concentrate on moving your fingers and keep your focus on the movement?

- How long did you practice this for until it worked for you?

Thank you for the suggestions.

Question Baro-san - If you focus on feeling yourself in a certain place, isn't more likely you would fall into a dream state?   Reason why I'm asking is I have projected before and found myself fully conscious - almost like I am when I am awake.

Problem is - I've been trying to get back to that for awhile w/o any success.  That is why I've been trying to get suggestions as to what to concentrate on in order to keep the mind awake or at least fall into a lucid dream and work from there.

I wanted to see if anyone else that has done it.

- I am good at getting myself relaxed but the point I fail to see is what to concentrate on that will keep your mind focused.  Does anyone just focus on exit techniques (ex. rope climbing, anchoring, pretend spinning)?

I would really like to get examples of what people primarily focus on when trying to keep their mind awake and focused.  Also, does anyone roll their eyes to toward the top of the head while focusing?  Does this help anyone at all.

The thing that is frustrating is all these techniques on how to exit but really nothing on what people do to focus or what to concentrate on before reaching the point of exiting.

Thank you!

I'm in the same boat you are.  I've stepped away for awhile and would really like to get back to it.  My problem is I don't have time to meditate or take a nap during the day.

Hello!

So I'm a little confused.  Do you literally tap your index and middle fingers or just slightly move them?  Also, do you just concentrate on doing that and nothing else?

Thanks!!

UPDATE: I tried this last night and got to the point where I felt slight vibrations and also what looked like a purple flash in my mind.  I guess I fell asleep then.  That was the closest I have been in a long time.

Hi,
I was wondering, how long do you spend on focusing on the eyes before shifting onto hearing?

Thank you!

This is a very interesting experience that I have only read about or have heard about via stories on youtube and other sources.  I was dreaming that I was in a server room and my two parakeets were there.  I bent over to look at them and then I woke up.  Not less then 3 minutes later...around 3:30am, my daughter runs up to me and said the birds are moving around and making a lot of noise.  I went downstairs and they looked like something startled them.   I brushed it off, went back to bed and then I was drifting and I closed my eyes and after a little while, I was able to see my dark bedroom.  Without moving my head, I looked toward my window and then I heard buzzing sounds going off in my ears.  I tried to separate but couldn't, only remote view.  I just found it fascinating that I was looking at my birds in my dream and then my daughter said they were going nuts not too long after I woke up.

Anyone else had any similar experiences with pets?

Is there any possible way to avoid or induce a state where the hypnotic jerks aren't as frequent or not as severe?
#11
Bedeekin - By the time the major jerking motion happened, she quickly turned to me and just simply asked "What are you doing?".   I didn't know how to answer but simply told her it was a muscle spasm.  I have been finding the jerking motion became more severe that the last one I had seemed to jerk my entire body but oddly enough, it didn't disturb my wife when I was sure it would.  All I know is it scared the crap out me.

Hello:

I wanted to see if I can get different views on this subject.  I am able to get myself in a trance but my body does a major "jerking" movement and I am afraid it will wake my wife but it doesn't.  Now, one time when I got that same "jerk" she did wake up and asked me what I was doing.  I really couldn't say what I was doing because even I didn't know what was happening :?  This last time when it happened, she didn't wake up so I assumed it had something to do with the trance or she was in a deep sleep.

Could anyone please share if they had similar experiences and if so, how do you control the "jerking" feeling while in a trance?

Much Thanks!

Hello,

I was wandering if anyone has any techniques or ideas on how to keep the mind awake while going to sleep at night.  Night time is the only way I can try and project as this is the only "me" time I can get without disturbances.  Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks!

I enjoy the feeling of having a heightened sense of awareness.  Its like you can feel the energy in each room, object, person or animal.  Congrats on your experience! :-)

I work a second shift position (4pm - 12am) and I got home around 12:50am.  I went to bed with the intention of projecting.  I relaxed my body and repeatedly in my mind repeated " I will astral project" and did this over and over.  Now, here comes the strange part.  I can't remember if I fell asleep or not but it seems like I opened my eyes and there was something standing over me.  It looked like a shirt bending over looking at me but nothing was there.  At the same time it is like I "sensed" a presence that did not feel good.  I don't know if I woke up or what happened but it seems like I didn't open my eyes and looked over at my clothes rack and everything seemed back to normal.  I don't know if I had some sort of hallucination while trying to AP or what.  Can anyone make any sense of this or has anyone else had a similar experience?

HOLY CRAP :-o  I had this exact same experience beginning this month.  I felt like 200 pound weights were attached all over my body and it took quite a bit of effort to walk and get out of bed.

I have to admit this has probably been the best technique I've tried yet.  It really gave me something to focus on and within a matter of minutes (or what seemed like minutes), my body felt really heavy and my left arm felt light and I started seeing flashes.  I think I became close but it was really impressive how fast it worked.

Hello!

I wanted to get opinions on what people concentrate on:

1. What you concentrate on when trying to relax your body.

2. Any specific mantra's you use?

3. What technique(s) have you been most successful with?

The reason why I'm asking these is I have been away from AP for awhile and I'm trying to get back into it but for some reason either my mind set or my heart has not been in it or I keep thinking of some bad experiences I had with AP.  There have been a couple of times where I know I was out of body, but I felt as though something prevented me from speaking and from moving. :-(

Any advice on how I can reincorporate myself into this would be great!

Much Thanks!!

After checking some websites on the Ganzfeld technique - thank you for the tip by the way - I came across some articles relating to astral projecting in front of a mirror.  They say trying to project in front of a mirror "shakes" the astral bodyl to the point where you can separate, almost like you have your eyes closed.

It sounds very interesting to play with however!

Hello:

I've been playing with various energy raising techniques.  I look directly at myself in the mirror and I see what looks like a green aura over me.  It is like I go into a trance state and I see my face change into like a ghost shape and I start to feel what seems like goose bumps or electricity flowing through my body.

NOW...do I find the face changing disturbing...yes :-o  However, the electricity feeling is familiar, almost when I projected before and this all happened with my eyes open.  I feel as though I have better concentration and focus with my eyes open then I do when they are shut.  Would it be possible to astral project with the eyes open?

Thanks!

Now that I think about it.. I believe I did fall asleep but waking up into my astral body.  Recording my experiences, it seems I've used some sort of affirmation or meditation technique.  Which makes sense since it appears these techniques quite the mind before projecting but your unconsciousness keeps aware to the fact you want to project.  Other times, when I managed to stay awake, I heard the whooshing noise or my senses heighten.

Its very interesting between the two different ways of projecting.

While relaxing and going to sleep, I used the EGYPTO mantra.  I was expecting to keep myself awake and have my body go numb but I fell asleep.  However, I fell into a dream state and I was sleeping at my parents place in one of the spare bedrooms.  I could feel myself lifting from my body and in the dream I knew I was projecting.  I wrote awhile back about the energy feeling (like static electricity) and the same feeling happened.  This happened three times again only in dreaming.  It was bizarre.  One thing I realized that during my journey and discovery of AP is the amount of concentration and feeling you must put into it before achieving success.  Basically if your hearts not in it, it is NOT going to work.

Happy Journeys!! :-)

Has anyone ever experienced leaving the body w/o vibrations?

It seems like all the experiences I've had, I did not have the vibrations but when I did leave my body, I felt like a surge of energy around my body.  Almost like static electricity only w/o the clothing sticking to you.

I would feel myself lift from my body and only feel the transition from flesh to energy.  IT was the best feeling ever. :-)

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / SUCCESS!

Hello:

I wanted to tell of my experience I had last night!

I projected 3 times :-o

Just to start off, I was not feeling good and was up the night before because my daughter was also sick.

It was around 4am when I got up with my daughter and got her back to sleep.  I laid down and just concentrated on "I am going out of body" and then I was able to see the stand next to my bed but there was something that looked like a snow globe on it and when I reached out to it, my hand went through it (NOTE: No snow globe was there originally).  I then rolled over on the side of the bed and I heard a loud 'whooshing' noise like the ocean and I got up.  I could feel the floor and I felt like I did in the physical.  I walked up stairs and opened the door.  I think at this point I lost control and fell into a dream state.  I did the exact same thing 2 more times and again I heard the 'whooshing' noise and was out of body.  It was neat, I never felt piece like I did out of body.  The experience lasted only a short time and I didn't try anything like flying or walking through walls because I felt I wasn't ready for that yet but wanted to get myself together first and feelings so next time I know what to expect.

Can anybody suggest how to keep oneself from falling into a dream state?

Thanks!

Last night I tried relaxation techniques and then mantras.  Three unusual occurrences happened to me.

1. I felt as though my body went completely numb while concentrating on the mantra.  It felt like I had 100 pound weights on my body.  I
could move but couldn't get past this.

2. I felt a brief gust of air coming from my window..even though it was closed and I did make sure there were no breezes coming through.

3. I heard what sounded like the ocean in my ears.  It was almost like taking a seashell and holding it up to your ear.

Unfortunately I didn't project but my head felt like it was swimming like I was almost loose but just couldn't detach.

The interesting part is I almost feel like my senses sort of heightened.  I was more aware and alert almsost.

Please feel free to comment if this has happened to you or if you have any suggestions on the heaviness aspect.
Thank you!
