Okay i know there was a discussion about lucid dreams being related to astral projection a while ago but I wanted to discuss this special type of lucid dream, WILD. WILD is basically Astral Projection though right? Same technique(get to dream consciously instead of doing reality checks vs getting out consciously through rope and other methods) , very vivid, betterish recall? These seem very close to each other. How would you compare the two?(if anyone has done both) Which one do you think is a better experience?

Well, that's really the main question, isn't it?

There isn't really a specific *time* to use them... as the method/technique you do choose to use *IS* the entire thing you're doing.
For example, using the rope method... you don't just do it for a few seconds and pop out.  With the rope method, the rope is your entire focus.  Keep climbing the rope, keep focusing more and more on the action of climbing the rope.  As you progress "up" the rope, you keep deepening your awareness towards that action.  Further removing yourself from this physical reality.  Eventually your awareness will be so enthralled with the sensations of climbing the rope that it'll naturally trigger the projection reflex and you'll shift your awareness to elsewhere.

i really thought doing it for a few second when you think you are super relaxed was the idea behind the technique...wow that explains a lot, thank you!

Ignore them.

Just keep deepening your awareness away from the physical.

Ah I see. So what should be the time to start using an exit technique like the rope method? or do you have to use an exit technique to project..? Is it like deepening your awareness until you have a shift of awareness or something like that?

Hello guys I have been attempting to astral project for a while. When I am ready to project(i.e relaxed my body, took deep breaths, etc) I get to a point where I get "chills". I think thats the way of describing it. Its almost like goosebumps but not really. It just happens suddenly. I am not cold or emotionally excited when this happens so its not quite like goosebumps but it feels like it but not exactly(hair not standing up).It starts from my neck and goes all over my body. I do not know if its a sign to project or something of that sort. This has not happened once but a lot of times when I get into this deep trance like state. I basically get stuck in this point. My heartrate increases, my thoughts wander, i get the feeling I am THIS close to projecting(though I have never projected), etc. What should I be doing while this happens? What would be my next few steps to project?

Thank you guys

You might simply be misinterpreting what you THINK you're supposed to experience.
Let's see if I can't describe things a bit more concise... or as clear as I can!  :)

Actually... let me share a couple links to articles I wrote regarding two exercises, The Rundown and The Noticing Exercise.

That should keep you busy for a few minutes.  :)

Hello again, I read some of the other posts about phasing by you on unlimitedboundaries , I found this : http://www.unlimitedboundaries.ca/2010/11/25/xanths-phasing-method/

Could stretching your eyes stop movement in the eye? In the post you do say something about focusing onto the darkness,
my eyes keep drifting around my eyelids, like is that bad? Could this take me away from reaching the flashy darkness thing? ( I hope I make sense)
Thank you

I have been looking at some methods and I came across phasing so the problem is, I cant come to the flashy darkness part, where there is dark flashing and blobby darkness floating. I swear I did it once, it lasted 5 minutes and darkness was flashing but I was disturbed in the physical. Can you guys give me tips to get to that part again, the noticing darkness part? I cant do rundown things...
Thanks

For now, put aside what you "think" astral projection is about or what the key features are... they're holding you back.  :)
Ah..So just relax. Umm..Do you know what would be the best time to exit out of the body? How do I know I am ready....So many questions  :-(

Understand what you just said here.

You just couldn't get out... so you (randomly?) came to a conclusion (based upon what exactly?) that those are the sings for when your body is ready?
So you just came to a conclusion based upon not knowing anything about what you're trying to do.  See how silly that sounds?  It's like telling a rocket scientist what's wrong with his rocket when you don't even know what a rocket is.  :)

This is why working from a position of knowledge is so important.  This is why we teach people to experience the non-physical for themselves on a personal level.

On my own personal forum, we have a feature called "Destynee's Plan", where we work with you on a one-on-one basis to teach you how to project.  You might find it a bit more progressive to random posts here on the Pulse.  Click here:  www.astralacademy.com
Oh thanks for the website. I thought that the signs were a key feature for astral projection. I mean I cant just feel cozy then suddenly get up and expect to be in the astral(which I did many times and failed).I guess I will see the site.

Sleep paralysis and vibrations are not present for everyone. They are a signpost and nothing more.
Basically ignore your body and go to sleep staying aware of yourself as a concious existence in the blackness behind your eyes.
You staying aware without any bodily sensations will allow it to fall asleep leaving you free. From here experience whatever comes as safe and worth remembering.
Yeah that's what I think but when I try to astral project I just cant get out. So I came to the conclusion that the signs are for when your body is ready. Please help..I really need an OBE

Hi. So I have been trying to get an obe for some time. I feel relaxed super relaxed. Do the deep breathing, tense muscles. Wait for like 30 minutes(sometimes even an hour) and still no sign (like vibrations or sleep paralysis). But like a week ago I felt these chills going up my neck, spine, and hands. Could that be the sign? Could it be considered as tingling sensation you guys feel? I read from somewhere and here I quote:

""Q: Once I feel the tingling sensation and/or hear the high pitched whine in my head then what do I do?
A:Once you feel that, you are separated but still inside your body. It's time to stretch yourself up and out. You can either follow your arms out, or some people like to roll out like you're rolling onto the floor, and other people seem to go out feet first. It takes a lot of inner will to stretch up out of your body. The first few times you may only get an arm out. It will feel like you're walking through mud. Just keep going.""

^Is this true? Am I ready?? One more thing I need to ask is about having that chills thing back. I have been trying but no success  :-(.

It is step 5 which should do the trick; a type of cut. But, in theory, any method can work as long as desire is pushed into the unconscious i.e. forgetting. I found that effects were obtained two or three days later after using a technique without doing anything then. There is always a kind of delay in magick i found out.

Thx man. It actually worked I felt more relaxed and focused but not as much as I expected (probs the two or three day delay). I will practice with this technique more.

Breath can be used yes. You can try this:

1. Breathe in deeply while counting to seven. Make sure that both lengths match.
2. Breathe out while counting to seven. Again make sure that the lengths of both operations match.
3. Repeat 1 and 2 combined seven times.
4. Focus all your awareness in your stomach and stay there for at least five minutes.
5. Draw a line from your stomach to your forehead but not too fast.
6. Focus all your awareness in your forehead and stay there for at least five minutes.
7. Now dissipate the focused energy in your forehead over your whole body and then go to sleep.

This may help. You can feel when the time is right to shift from 4 to 5 and 6 to 7. It is also of paramount importance that you control desire. If you can control it, then this method will work, like any other method you could choose. You've got to stay focused while executing this algorithm and afterwards, you have to forget it by thinking something else while dozing off.

@Xanth lol my first thought also

Thanks man ,this will be quite hard to remember but I will try it tonight and give feedback tomorrow.

Have you considered you may have a fear of the dark?  However slight?

Nah can't be... Well I sometimes rush up the stairs at night. But nothing like being actually scared of the dark. I guess I feel cozy because the lamp is off and I can finally try to astral project.

The fact that you fall asleep with the lamp off suggests that you can relax even faster, but you're not aware of this. Seems logical that to fall asleep, one first must reach a deep state of relaxation. It's just that it happens to fast to notice any relaxed feeling.

But, maybe the frustrating feeling is based on the idea or conviction that you can't project with the lamp on. The lamp shouldn't be a problem to project, you just need to deepen the relaxation by having an intent and patience. Undo the association lamp = frustrating

Thank you so much for replying. Is there um.. a way for me to reach "a deep state of relaxation" without falling asleep so fast. The only time I can project is at night. So I am already kinda sleepy. The rest of the time I can't because my family members are a little noisy. I want to know if like a breathing to feel energized exists. So I can use the energy to focus on astral projection.

Hi! I am new here. So..I have been trying to have an obe for quite some time. And I noticed that when I leave my lamp open I can relax much faster and not fall asleep. But its disturbing for me, the light for some reason. I go to my lamp turn it off. Then I just fall asleep :| . I want to practice in the dark but I keep falling asleep. Do you guys have like a method or a way for me to stay awake and focused?
Thank you
