It's not the same thing as daydreaming. Basically what I've experienced is somewhere in between daydreaming and a real dream in terms of vividness. This link has a decent explanation of it. http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_permanent_astral_topics/active_imagination_techniques_carl_jung-t32634.0.html

Hey everyone,

I came here a while back trying to figure out how best to label something I've practiced since childhood. It plays out like an OBE but the actual experience seems to be closer to what Jung called Active Imagination. I checked and there is a post about it in another section of this forum. If I am in the "real world" in these experiences I occasionally find characters representing Jungian archetypes. If I'm in other worlds, these seem to operate on their own laws for the most part. I've been "visiting" one since childhood which has evolved over the years into a very complex and intricate world. A couple times these have turned into full OBEs but that is a tiny fraction. I'm curious, does anyone else here practice Active Imagination, and what do you think the relationship between that and phasing/OBEs is, if any at all?

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Any Metalheads?

Are there any heavy metal fans here? Some of my favorite bands include Epica, Nightwish, Therion, Amon Amarth, Emperor, Dissection, Immortal, Dimmu Borgir, Fleshgod Apocalypse, and far too many others to really list here.

In the only world I have been in enough to really know not that I've seen personally. The most common economic system I've seen isn't socialism but its not quite capitalism either. It's more like mercantilism. Some countries are more strict in controlling their economies than others but in general most governments there keep tight control over the economy, particularly international trade. I impressed one kingdom enough where they made me an advisor while I can visit and later co-king, but that's another story, but I've been able to reform the system a little which has benefited the kingdom but its hard to fundamentally change how people think about the economy and the role of government. Imagine trying to explain capitalism or socialism to a society that has never heard of either.

That being said, I'm curious how one country will turn out. During a period of extended instability a particularly violent man seized power and executed the rest of the nobility to ensure no one could challenge him. He was eventually overthrown by a popular uprising and they still have a monarchy, when they are actually stable, but they have come from non-noble backgrounds so I'm curious if that will change their ideology at all.

Aside from that some areas are tribal or even in complete anarchy. But those are generally very far away from the kingdoms I mentioned above. That's not to say there aren't socialist systems in other worlds, we are talking about infinite possibilities. There are likely socialist societies, Ayn Rand inspired capitalist ones, and everything in between and things we probably have never thought of.

I have never read anything that indicated that other people have experienced this but when I project to the world I usually visit I tend to get involved in the government of the different countries in that world. Granted I work in politics so maybe that's just what I naturally gravitate towards but I was curious if anyone else had similar experiences. In the world I typically go to monarchy is the norm, despite the countries having modern, even in some cases futuristic technology, democracy just isn't a concept and I've tried to explain it but most people there just can't wrap their heads around it. The political intrigue in the royal courts is always interesting.

So I asked around both online and also friends who know about things like this and everyone agrees it was a projection. So, cool.
#8
Interesting. I have been doing it more recently considering I've been sick and I might have to continue and see what happens.

Thanks. I still do that every once in a while but I've never really known anyone else who could do it or any way to really explain it. Its a good way to relieve stress and it is usually interesting to explore and interact with the worlds I visit whether it is real or not.

Thank you for the reply, although I'm not sure what you mean. Was it a kind of OBE? Was it not? Something else entirely?

When I was a kid I figured out how to go into a kind of meditative state where I felt like I was outside my body. The vividness of the experience was somewhere between a daydream and a regular dream and everything seemed to have a mind if it's own, with my interactions with it having unintended consequences. It wasn't the same as astral projection, I've experienced that since then and they are different. Was this a type of OBE or just the overactive imagination of a kid?

A few months ago I was extremely tense and stressed out about various issues. One day all of my classes were cancelled and I decided to check out my university's meditation room. I'm still not entirely sure why I did this, I didn't have much previous experience with meditation but when I meditated I felt like I was in communion with God, I could feel his love and his infinite nature. It was probably one of the most incredible experiences of my life. Afterwords, as I walked out of the meditation room I understood the illusionary nature of the world and particularly the institutions of mankind. And I felt at peace with myself and the universe for the first time in my life. Before that, no matter what I did I have always had at least a little anxiety and I always felt trapped in a vague way. After the experience, I found that organized religion could not adequately explain my experience, although its almost impossible for me to explain it. I tried meditation techniques from all over the world including Catholic meditation and Vippasana Buddhist meditation, but now I feel cut off from God and I feel just as "trapped" as I did before. but now I also feel somewhat detached from the material world. have anyone experienced anything like this?

are you sure that the city wasn't in the RTZ? It sounds like it could possibly be a city that was abandoned after a disaster like this one http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pripyat,_Ukraine

Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Mental projection
February 20, 2011, 13:50:39
I was reading things on the forum and on the page describing Astral Pulse Island and mental projection was mentioned. After reading more about it I realized that I have been doing this since 4th grade. I instinctively knew how to do it somehow. I have recently been mentally projecting again and I confirmed its reality, I was in class one day and layed my head down. I decided to project to another class and when I got there I saw someone who wasn't in school for weeks. I couldn't believe it until I walked by the classroom a while later and saw her come out. Does anyone else here practice mental projection? and if you do have you ever confirmed anything you've seen?

I was not aware that I was dreaming, but when I was projecting I knew that I had seperated from my body.
#17
In the dream I attempted to project and I ended up in another world that didn't look like any place I have ever visited in the RTZ. But when the projection ended I came back into the dream

A few months ago I had a dream where I projected. It seems like alot of people here believe that dreams are a form of OBEs. So have I projected or was it just a dream?

Hey, I know several people who have chronic illnesses and I was wondering if it is possible to discover a way to heal them in the astral plane. maybe the Akashic records has something that might help, or possibly asking God for his help.
