Long time no post.  ::waves::

Hm... hopefully I'll be able to explain what I'm asking in a way that makes at least some sense, because I'm not sure I fully understand the concepts involved myself.

Recent circumstances have led me to believe that when two people are close enough, for long enough, their respective influences (energies?) merge in a sense, until a balance is reached.  Well, if both people are relatively positive and well adjusted, this can be a good thing... their positive influences and strength will reflect and magnify each other.  But if one of them is really negative, unstable, dependent, etc... not so much.  The more negative person may derive some benefit from such an arrangement and be somewhat "lifted up," but meanwhile the positive person is being pulled down and held at a level that probably isn't entirely healthy.

I myself just got out of a similar situation a few months ago, and for many reasons, am now looking into making sure this person's influence is eliminated from my life, and mine from theirs, at every possible level, for the sake of my own well being.  I think I have a pretty decent understanding of how this can be done internally, and have had good results with my methods, though I'd still be open to suggestions.  What I'm wondering about is whether these influences can remain in/on physical objects that were associated with the relationship, and if so, how that influence can be gotten rid of without necessarily getting rid of or destroying the object.  Most stuff I do plan on destroying because it'll be easier, but other things I'd kinda like to not just toss out, like a printer and a digital camera, heh.

So yeah, I'm curious as to whether this is even a valid concern at all... this isn't really my area of expertise, so for all I know these things might not even work that way.  And, if it is, what can be done about it.

Thanks in advance.  :)

In my quest to AP, I ended up on the same side-quest most of us experience -- that of dealing with mental blocks, false associations and fear.

For me, one of the biggest blocks has been the fact that my body goes into panic mode at the first hint of trance or exit symptoms.  The reason for this is the context in which I've felt them in the past.  When I was younger and had to have an operation, I had an odd experience with the anaesthesia that I now think was an artificially induced deep trance.  As I was going out, suddenly I felt a full body cold numbness and a dramatic falling sensation all at once.  Of course when you're ten years old and already heavily sedated and thus not thinking clearly anyway, the only conclusion I could reach before I was out completely was "holy <bleep>, I'm dying!"  That association has stuck with me ever since.  I've always thought that if I could overcome that, I'd be one step ahead of the game because I already know what the sensations are and how to mentally duplicate them... but I've never had much luck knowing how to even approach it.  Until now.

I've been reading a lot of Bruce Moen's material lately, and I've already read just about all of Robert Bruce's.  What finally came to me was a combination of Bruce's tactile imaging and Moen's technique for changing or eliminating beliefs (link).

I start by doing Bruce's full body relaxation technique and some NEW to get myself in a relaxed meditative state.  I then bring up mental images representing the two things whose association I'm trying to break -- in this case the first was me on the op table, and the second was a combination of picturing myself feeling the sensations and actually feeling them.  I then picture these two concepts connected by cords that meet in the middle and plug into each other, like an extension cord.  I feel myself taking hold of these cords and physically unplugging them, and let the operation image fade away.  I then bring up a third image that is to be the new association -- in this case I used the image and sensations of myself flying free, like in those flying dreams that are so much fun, as a fitting symbol of the freedom I'm seeking via AP.  I finish the whole process by plugging the old concept into the new image.

I've only been experimenting with this, as well as the changing and eliminating of beliefs for a few days, but it really appears to be working.  I can now mentally reproduce those sensations without the old feelings arising.  I've also been addressing other sources of fear with these methods... and whereas I could formerly produce a slight sensation of fear just by imagining them, now there's nothing there where said fear used to be.

I'm posting in hopes that others could benefit from this, and even expand on it and compare notes.  I definitely plan on playing with it a lot more myself.

Welcome to Astral Projection Experiences! / Orb = me?

heck, if you've read any of robert monroe's books, you might consider that you are yet to appear as a red orb before your parents.  Like, it's happened to them, but you are yet to travel through time as the red orb, so it hasn't happened for you yet.

Hm, a few minutes after I posted that, I was reading some related material, some of which made mention of the book "A Wrinkle in Time."  Right then, I got a spam IM from a screenname that was something like "CharlesMeg."  For those who don't know, Charles and Meg are two of the main characters in that book.  Spookiness.  Heh.

I think this is the same as the Unity Church, it is also the church I attend.  The message Unity teaches is that we all are divine beings... period.  It teaches messages that are designed to awaken the Christ Consciousness within each of us.  It is a church but It is not really a religion as we understand religions... it is more like a spiritual movement.  it encourages people to find their own path to Christ Consciousness within its teachings.  Here's the one I attend. www.unitylife.org there is also an association of Unity Churches which I think is at www.unity.org.

I think you just gotta keep telling yourself that it's safe until you believe it.

Hey there!

For what its worth, I woke up a couple of years ago with a dark black figure at the bottom of my bed. I came to the conclusion (with some other truly unnerving data from the incident) that it was my resident neg, and the reason I was able to see it was because it was getting ready to do something. I woke because, IMO, my body felt this thing in my room, materialising or whatever, and decided I really should best not be sleeping.
In your case, however, I doubt the things you are seeing are bearing down on you with hostile intent - have you ever experienced proper attacks? I suspect, however, you woke up for similar reasons to me. Your mind/boby sensed the presence of something else around you - on some of the occasions. You were able to see them probably because, straight after we wake up, we often have real time sight still going strong ie seeing into the near astral. I have a friend who, like you, sometimes wakes up to see things like spiders etc in his room, of various sizes. The advice I gave him was not to worry - if they aint hurting you, best leave them alone and see them as a kind of point of interest. If you started waking up on a regular basis and seeing scary stuff, that would be a different matter, but I dont think thats the case here.
Well, that covers "some" of the things you have seen! The flowers incident, probably a close spirit (someone deceased, a familiar type, etc) woke you up and used your temporary real time sight to show you a bunch of flowers and temporary real time hearing to speak to you. Or if it/they were more skilled they could probably implant them into your own mind or use some more powerful technique (but since this is occuring as part of a pattern, I doubt it). I also strongly doubt your own subconscious mind would wake you up and give you such a message - it would almost certainly come through in a dream instead, and wouldn't have been so....normal! Be totally bizarre if that was a creation of your own subconscious IMO.
The bright glow in your room, again your mind waking you up and real time sight. Probably picking up on some local energy field or event (human or natural, I dunno, would probably say natural but intuition says human.....meh!).
The weird eye......um!!!!!! Well its obviously symbolic of the third eye.....err I thought the lotus flower was supposed to represent the crown chakra but I am not sure about that. Anyway this is a blatent referance to your anja chakra (third eye). I would say that because you've been doing NEW your energy body is becoming more powerful and active and, as a consequence, your anja chakra is becoming more and more active also. You might well start seeing more things as you wake up, and in general.....although where this one came from, I couldn't say! I would, however, assume the source to be the same one as gave you the flowers! Probably like saying "hey! You're doing well, keep it up! Your anja is looking real sweet!" or similar [;)]. If this is the case you can also say whoever sent the message has a good knowledge of the human energy body, know anyone dead like that?

So nooo, dont worry about this stuff! Your room aint becoming a zoo! - I mean, how many real spiders do you see on average every day? And how many astral spiders??? I would guess more of the former, right??!
Personally, if I were you, I would be more chuffed than concerned! Think of it this way - you've got a nice spirit out there that likes you and gives you interesting message to wake up to occasionally (you could try and make further contact, but dont jump to any conclusions....). AND you have natural psychic skills. AND your NEW practices are bearing unusual fruit. Pukka!!!!![:D]

hope this helps..

Well, first of all we must take into account the random movement of energy in the universe, such is the case in diffusion, where molecules spread in a timely fashion.  There would have to be something to permenantly hold this massive energy in.  There are probably billons of souls that would love to get their hands on this extra energy from every place in the universe.  So it would have to be secure and only let those who you truly wanted to access it access it.  Im not sure if you would be able to set a spell to make energy constantly form a barrier somewhere and collect energy to put in it, so if this would not be the case then you would have to rely on some third-party source such as other souls on the astral plane to constantly watch and maintain it.  If spirits would be willing to do this task then Im sure something of this sort could be accomplished where they'd contribute and store this energy safely and keep it away from other forces, good or evil.  Another thing is that this area might get unwanted attention because of other lower lifeforms on the astral would be attracted to all of this strong and powerful energy, and could possibly start joining forces to try and have access to it.  I don't think this idea would really have much logical purpose as souls wouldn't want to maintain this for a long time for no benefit of their own.  It is a very interesting thought though.
