I know what you're saying. I wouldn't go out of my way to attack them though, I'd only do it out of self defense unless I could utilize a better way. I'll give myself a psi-shield next time I'm projected, just in case.
yes, this is pretty much what i do.  i only enter into conflict in a worst case scenario.

QuoteIf an entity were to send me a "dream hologram" or something to distract me without my permission or my asking for it I'd feel attacked. It would enrage me if I lost the opportunity to see my higher self because of some stupid negative entity's "dream hologram" that sent me into a dream state until I woke up.
technically, this dream hologram experience didn't impede my free will.  these weren't my dreams which were alterered or affected.  it was simply the entity's own dream projected onto the astral landscape.  i personally wasn't dreaming at the time.  it wasn't my dream, but the entity's instead.  i really didn't feel threatened to any great extent, or else i would have retaliated.  the entity was responsive to my request to veil itself if it wanted to communicate with me.

QuoteStill though, I've yet to encounter a negative entity in the astral. Not saying I never will, though.
that may or may not consciously occur.  much depends upon the frequency of projections.  as mortal human beings, most of us tend to cycle between higher and lower frequencies in a similar way that the seasons of the year go through their natural cycles.  we may wish to project when we're operating at higher frequencies, and refrain from projecting when we're operating at lower frequencies.  the frequencies which we operate at are also influenced by the people whom we associate with, coupled with meditative purification practices and patterned constructive and/or destructive behaviors.

Astral Traveler and I have had a few discussions about this.  I think it might be a good way for someone to have an OBE, but if you are not use to it, to not jump in.  Research methods and effects first so you know what to expect.
most definitely.  it's not something to be taken lightly, and it requires a vast amount of discipline and knowledge to successfully perform.  much like if someone wants to become a star marathoner, weightlifter or gymnast.

QuoteI would try sleep deprivation before fasting.
that's another good method if approached healthily.

There's really nothing to be afraid of, if you know how to control your emotions that is.
very true.  emotive purification is also key.  if our emotions become corrupted with guilt and/or shame or with anger/vengeance and/or depression, then our psyches will drift into lower astral frequencies, where we may subsequently encounter lower frequency entities.  we may momentarily feel confident and comfortable in the lower frequency realms, until such time as we may become surprised at encountering a lower frequency astral entity.

Most likely. One way or another, in order to astrally project you have to first cross the threshold of physical waking consciousness. Interesting question though.
i find that it's easier for me to get into the dream state first.  then, when i realize that i'm dreaming, i may simply shut down the dream.  when the dream is shut down, one perceives directly into the astral realms.

i may additionally enter into a wake-dreaming state during sensory-deprived meditation practice.  then i just let my body fall asleep while retaining mental consciousness.  most people unfortunately wait until they're physically asleep to enter into the dream state, but i prefer to enter into the dream state while i'm still physically awake (called wake-dreaming).

Hmm. If I had an entity like that interfering with me in my astral state like that, I'd be pretty ticked. I highly value my time in the astral, and if some negative entity were to waste my time and distract me like that I'd tear him apart. I guess this is only because I haven't yet finished my objective in the astral, which is to contact my higher self. If I'd had the answers I need, I wouldn't be half as mad at that happening - I'd still be pretty angry though (EDIT: however, I wouldn't be angry if I were invulnerable to the negative energy and had enough lucidity to not be bothered by them - otherwise I'd assume that the negative being would just want to try and drain my energy and would have no choice but to destroy him if possible. I still believe that unconditional love would solve the problem immediately, but until I can sustain that state, I'll go with the second best option).
i formerly responded to such entities with psychic shields (and occasionally still do).  when i would utter a curse upon them, their astral forms would degenerate before me.  or i would exteriorize energy from my arms, causing them to flail about as if on fire.

however, a friend of mine suggested to me that if i instead uttered a blessing to negative entities, many of them might become neutral (or non-aggressive) towards me.  i've found this to be the case.  i can now detect when they are fearful of me and when they are non-aggressive.  i've just found better options for dealing with them.

when we enter into conflict with negative entities, we are then headed on a path of becoming like them.  there is a saying that says: 'those who fight against monsters will become monsters'.

i've encountered my deceased mother a couple dozen times upon the astral planes.  she has sometimes had to veil her astral form from me, because i have a natural tendency to inadvertantly utter a curse towards astral entities, which thereby damages and degenerates their astral forms.

they veil themselves for a twofold purpose.  firstly, they are protecting themselves from my retaliation if i am startled by their appearance and subsequently utter a curse upon them which degenerates their astral forms. (i've sometimes injured astral entities accidentally.)  secondly, i've requested of them that they veil themselves if they wish to communicate with me, because i may become startled by them which may cause me also to wake up.

Oh I know it's true. I've seen infinity itself. This reality we see is just a focus - like blue and yellow stripes becoming green when you back up far enough away. An "illusory" aspect of the infinite "metaverse" as you call it.
that's a very interesting and apt illustration.

Personally, the idea of going on forever scares me just as much as the idea of personal oblivion :D.
this may depend upon the quality of existence.

Quote from: interception on November 24, 2008, 07:18:22Completely unprovable off course, but yeah, I also want to believe in infinity.
i consider it more of a mathematical probability.  for me, the theory solves more problems than it creates, as opposed to so many other theories about creation, etc.

QuoteIt is.... comforting, somehow. Like the game can never be over.
we look for that comfort, perhaps due to the need for psychological security or self-preservation.  wondering if these needs are eternal is another matter altogether.
#109
i think that it differs from person to person.

i believe that the metaverse is infinitely eternal and etenally infinite.

1. infinite macroverse: the idea that the macroverse is infinitely large, extending forever and ever, without beginning or end points.  there are no outer walls of the metaverse (although the metaverse is composed of an infinite number of universes).  the metaverse has no beginning or ending.

2. infinite microverse: the idea that a microverse is infinitely small, extending forever and ever.  in other words, the smallest molecules are composed of infinitely smaller particles that go on forever and ever.  there is no smallest particle that isn't composed of even smaller particles.

most of my astral projections occur right before i wake up versus right after falling asleep.

we have at least two chances to consciously astral project when we sleep:

1. right when we go to sleep

2. right when we wake up

again, most of my experiences occur when i'm waking up as opposed to when i'm falling asleep.

there are even times when i gain consciousness right in the middle of a sleep period, only to find myself already out-of-body.  this may occur in several waves during a sleep period.
#112
to consciously astral project, you have to cause your psyche to be awake while your body is fully asleep.  the body (as opposed to the psyche) must fall right below the sleep threshold versus remaining right above the sleep threshold.  it's essentially the opposite of meditation where a person tries to stay physically awake while relaxing the psyche.

sleep deprivation and/or fasting may be the most effective method to get your psyche into a wake-dreaming state (ideally coupled with sensory deprivation for amplification purposes), afterwhich the body will eventually fall into a very deep sleep.  it's okay to physically fall asleep if your psyche remains very active.  you want your psyche as active as possible with your body as passive as possible.  again, it's the exact opposite of meditation where people try to relax the psyche but stay physically awake.

1. sleep paralysis is a natural part of astral projection.  the only way to avoid it would be to avoid astral projection also, if that's what makes you feel the most comfortable.  however, if you prefer to pursue astral projection, you will then have to combat the fear involved with sleep paralysis instead of sleep paralysis itself.  this is entirely up to you, and it's not my place to persuade or dissuade you.

i still experience sleep paralysis from time to time during my astral projections, but it's not something that i really fear anymore.  think of it this way.  the physical body has to go into a state of sleep paralysis before we can astral project.  we can't very well be out-of-body and moving around in-the-body at the same time, although we may still experience dual sensation at times if the energy body is still half-way in the physical body.  it sounds to me like you will have to combat your fear of sleep paralysis as opposed to the sleep paralysis itself, if you still wish to astral project.

2. unwelcome entities can be avoided by staying away from mystical experience altogether, or if one wishes to pursue mystical experience, purification of the psyche is then necessary to attain higher dimensional frequencies, wherein one will not be subject to nightmare-type mystical experiences or exposure to invasive lower entities.  this involves cleansing of the psyche in the sub-realms of thought, emotion and conscience.

The first book about AP that I ever read was by Carrington and Muldoon. I forgot what it was called though.
that may be the book that i just mentioned.  it's called 'the projection of the astral body', although they had a follow-up book too with a different title.  i'm not sure which one you read.

Interesting. I had originally assumed it was probably the angel who sent you the imagery.
no, the angelic being engaged in non-interference, as if to simply make me visually alert to his existence.

QuoteSo this dark robed being wasn't really a bad guy?
no, he was a bad guy.  very corrupt.  but i don't necessarily believe that inciting conflict is ideal to wholistic unity of the various species.  if i were to enter into conflict with him, then it would have caused me to circulate negative energies.

Quote from: Alan McDougall on October 21, 2008, 11:23:38If you really interested in remove viewing you might be interested that this phenomenon is much more pronounced when one is very mentally tired or has gone without sleep for a fairly protracted time. Why this is I have no idea

I have vivid dreams almost every night now and when I check the internet the exact same event is described in some news paper etc.
sleep deprivation induces wake-dreaming (dreaming while physically awake) as well as lucid dreaming (while asleep).  sensory deprivation (of sight and sound) in a context of meditation amplifies wake-dreaming, by clearing out external visual and audible stimuli which otherwise cloud out conscious dream sensitivity.  if we are sleep-deprived, our brain will begin dreaming while we are awake instead.

Oh. I see.

By the way, what was in the that dream hologram from the robed one? And which robed one was it, the angelic one or the dark one?
the dark-robed one projected an interesting dream image as he was sitting beside me.  i was in my physical body at the time, but still sensitive to astral entities in a context of clairvoyance/clairaudience (astral seeing/hearing).

i was laying on my frontroom couch and could see into my kitchen, via astral vision and hearing. the entity sitting next to me (clothed and hooded with a dark robe) projected the image of an additional door adjoined to the kitchen.  the door was locked, but it was locked open as opposed to closed.  a fierce wind was violently moving the door, attempting to slam the door shut, with the door loudly knocked about by the wind.  however, since the lock of the door was locked open (much like if you were to lock the padlock of your door while the door was still open as opposed to closed), the violent wind couldn't cause the door to close completely.  (sometimes, if we leave a window open and a door open at the same time, the wind will actually burst through the house and slam the door shut.  however, this astral door affixed to the kitchen wall couldn't be slammed shut, because it was locked open.)

anyway, with all of that said, the symbolism was that the portalway of my psyche to the astral realms is locked open and cannot be shut, in contrast to most people who may have astral experiences but later fall away from them.

Yeh but i'm not asking about with lucid dreams (with respect) but in the conscious astral. TY.
the lucid dream state and astral consciousness are very much tied together, insofar as the lucid dream state can act as a portalway to astral consciousness, if one can become conscious of the dream and shut it down while it's occuring.  often, we may subconsciously astral project while simultaneously engaged in lucid dreaming, with the evidences of levitational floating sensations, flying, telepathy, etc..  however, we may not necessarily cognitively realize that we're projecting at the time, because our astral projection is veiled by dream imageries.

notwithstanding, we may come into contact with astral entities while lucidly dreaming, although not necesarily realizing it.  there were a few times when astral entities climbed into bed with me, wherein i felt tactile contact, but my psyche was projecting a veil of lucid dream material which obscured my astral sight.

apart from lucid dreaming, there was also one time when an astral entity (female) applied sexual touch to me, but her hand partially passed through my body with limited sensation.  you might imagine an extreme feather touch which passed through the body itself.  pleasure occured not only above the skin, but within the internal organs themselves.

there are a number of different theories about this which involve pro-creation on the astral planes.  for example, some believe that astral entities can pro-create and birth children together in the afterlife realm, even though they're not existing within our own physical dimension.  however, others believe that sexual pro-creation is strictly for physically living human beings, and sexuality can only occur within our immediate physical dimension.

(1) Can the astral punish or reward the non-astral and can you give me an example of how the astral can do that?

If the astral is in contact with the non-astral they can do either just by manifestation; in other words, if you are not at the point of realizing the astral while you are awake and you try to reach the astral, it will punish you.  In your dreams, you are protected because you are not in the physical, you are in the mental.
typically, astral entities lack the capacity to manifest physical effects, just as physical beings often lack a bridge to the astral realms.  in other words, astral entities don't generally physically materialize where everyone can see them.

however, astrally sensitive people sometimes open a portalway between the physical and astral realms.  in this context, actions can be performed which either help or harm beings in one direction or another.  we may help or harm astral entities or they may help or harm us, although we can also develop protective defenses (psychic shields) or potentially attune ourselves to higher frequency dimensions (as with inter-dimensional travel).

i'm being a bit general, but does this make sense?

I dunno. The astral is weird. Just the other day I projected to some place wearing some kind of shawl for no reason (I projected to several places that night, and later on I wasn't wearing it), so I'm guessing that the astral body has very little correlation to the physical.  :|
yeah, stuff like that is pretty common.  i don't fully understand it all.

maybe the occasional lucid dream, but sexual arousal often merely increases the heartbeat and wakes one up.  these things are more of a distraction than anything else.  not typically good for astral projecting.  when we astral project, it's best to leave these distractions behind.

Quote from: MinstruelZ on November 23, 2008, 22:29:22I'm not overly concerned about the vibes. More curious than anything else. Anyone else not usually experience vibes?
it's a funny thing, but over 25 years the vibes have basically gone away.  granted, i usually project several times in the middle of a sleep period or when i'm waking up.

when i first started projecting when i was younger, i felt these vibes because i tried projecting before going to sleep.  or it may even be that i don't notice them anymore, i'm not sure.  i would sometimes hear a sound that sounded like blood flowing through my head (or like hearing underwater) for a few seconds when descending into sleep.  sometimes it's like you can hear your own heart beating, if you're sensitive enough of your physical body.

i often feel energy flowing through my torso and limbs like an energy cloud, but i would get this while fully awake too.  this may not be what you're talking about though.

this might all depend on how you're defining 'vibes'.  are you talking about energy or sounds or what?

What kind of fluctuations? What exactly did you change into, or what changes did you see?
i saw myself along lower and higher frequencies to some degree.  more sickly looking (as if unnaturally aged with a skeletal-type image super-imposed) if my psyche was cluttered with lower frequency thoughts, but more vibrant (youthful with a shiny white aura) if my psyche was more purified at the time.  these fluctuations are also thought to manifest in varying degrees of bodily health.

typically (90% of the time), i just looked like my physical body does though, although my age appearance and bodyweight would occasionally seem to fluctuate for some reason.  does that make sense?  it's a little hard to describe.

howerver, the beings which i encountered seemed to fluctuate more wildly in appearance types, as briefly mentioned in the OP.

they looked like the room that i was sleeping in, whether my bedroom or my frontroom on the couch.  nothing special.

Awesome, I've always wanted to meet a higher frequency being. What were the places that you met these entities?
physically?  whereever i was sleeping.  beyond that, it's open to speculation.
