Cheers Xanth i'll check that link out.

One thing I still have trouble with (aside from simulating motion) is when people say "visualise white light coming from your crown..."etc.

I cant seem to make these work.  I mean do I just simply feel the light/energy or do I visualise how it would appear from a 1st person viewpoint as I do when I visualise walking along a cliff?

Anyway, im glad you guys agree which means I'm on the right track :)

My father had it bad at one point, he found that 'suntanning', or more to the point, vitamin D helped immensely.   :)

Ah thats cool as its sunny 365 here :)

But I have things that will clear it in a few days, thats not the reason I posted - I really want to try to self heal and cure the source of the issue causing it in the first place.  Maybe its a bit far-fetched but I reckon its possible :)

Thanks for the write up synergy, but I personally just cant take those kind of websites seriously - it looks like he's trying to sell viagra!

Im no expert on dreams but they are made up primarily from your subconscious in FoC 2 - if you seen these creatures then I would suggest they are/were very likely representing some kind of fear you have/had.  The subconscious (IMO) creates these kind of things to represent unresolved fears or issues you need to deal with.  If you can project at will, I suggest just simply asking what they mean.

Thanks Testing - I have briefly looked at Reiki, will look into it more :)

What are nightshades btw? :)

Hi all,

I have had a minor case of psoriasus for about 10 years now I would say.  Its nothing major (bits on elbows and knees) and overall is not impacting my life at all.  But of course I want it gone!  I have creams and stuff from the doctor which do work but because of the fact this is minor (at the moment) I would like to use my psoriasus as an experiment in self healing and not use the creams.

I firmly beleive conditions such as these originate 100% in the mind and as such can be resolved by the mind.

The problem is, I have no idea where to start!  Can anyone suggest some steps I could take?

Many Thanks!

Happy New Year Astral Pulse!

Ok so lately I have been practicing visualisations alot as I feel this is one area which can massively help with alot of things, projecting included.  I think there is a huge amount of confusion surrounding visualisations and I hope my observations and the replies of others can help clear this up.

When I started reading about people visualising my immediate response was that there was no way I could visualise!  They describe their "visions" as very real looking, almost tangible things very similar to what you see with your physical eyes.  Again, this kind of thing seemed WAY beyond my ability.  I guess most new comers also feel this way.  The word "visualisation" I think is misleading, because the process (as far as I can tell) is not visual at all, its perceptive.  Let me explain what has been happening to me...

I started trying to visualise by imagining myself walking around my home and picking up stuff, which of course is very familiar to me so should be an easy start.  But I STILL couldnt get any strong VISUALS or anything that resembled physical existence.  Anyway I kept practicing and moving on to more detailed visualisations.  I often walk along a cliff, feel the grass and smell the air, then jump off (I am a skydiver) and freefall to the ground below, performing aerial stunts with my canopy etc - but STILL I dont get strong life-like imagery.  Then I noticed something recently, the visualisations are having an impact on me and I feel like I have another world in my head.  I can visualise anything now (although I still have trouble simulating motion) and while at the time, the imagery is not rock solid, when I think back to the visualisation it feels like a memory of something I have actually done.  I had to double take earlier today on whether a MEMORY of me riding a kayak was a dream or a visualisation - in my mind there feels no difference unless I analyse.

I personally think the key to this is realising that visualisations are NOT life like imagery, they are more like perceptions or memories of something.  When I visualise, even though I am doing it there and then, the imagery I "see" or more acurately perceive feels exactly like the imagery I get when I remember an actual event that took place.

Is this how it is for other people also?  The active visualisation appearing in perception like a memory of a real event?

I dont know if I have articulated myself properly here but I thought I would try!

c) Have had 11 to 25 OBEs.
I think I have had many more going back to childhood but at this moment I am not fully sure.  I recall them as OBE's when I look back now, but at the time I had no clue so maybe memory is messing this up.

d) When between 25 to 40 years old.
Again, I *think* ive been having OBE's all my life (ive just turned 29), particularly during childhood but my memories of them now are faded and I dont 100% know if they were OBE's or just daydreams etc.

Welcome Iamjosh.

So just to get this right, when you come to project you do some NEW?

I personally think this is ok, but please understand NEW is not a way to project, just a way to stimulate your energy body, which may or may not aid in projection.

The easiest way to practice "losing yourself" I would suggest to you would be to follow a run-down.  A run-down is basically a self-created scenario in which you imagine yourself doing something.  For example you could picture yourself walking along a beach, then walking in the water and then swimming etc - making sure you really FEEL all of your sensations.  Try to experience all of your 5 physical senses when doing this.  Basically, you need to keep your mind off of your body, which is totally the opposite of what NEW does.

In regards to your sleep pattern, everyone is different.  Lately I have been finding it better going to bed early (9-10pm) and having 6-7 hours rest then waking up and trying.  I find my body and mind in a perfect state when I do this.  However my first successes were with the Vehram System in which you wake up during the night at a pre-programmed time.  Check out www.vehram.com

There are many others more experienced than me here so hopefully they will chime in too, but this is basically what I suggest based on the information you have given :)

What do you do to project?

It seems that neither of us are completely right.

In Ultimate Journey, at page 115 (Broadway Books Ed 2000), Monroe picks up two cats (not kittens) from himself. The pages from 114 - 116 may be read to get more of the story.

So the episode is in Monroe's first and third book. :)

Ah I just checked the pages you mention and I was mixing up the cats and what he said on page 116 about the episode in book 1 where he was screaming for help as kids were on him and someone came and removed them which turns out on page 115-116 of book 3 to be cats on him but it was him who removed them - so he was both the person screaming for help AND the person who removed the children/cats. :)

It was the cat, most likely. Monroe encountered the same thing. He was OBE and small boys sat on his back. At a later time he discovered that it actually was kittens taking a stroll in the RTZ. This was stated in his two first books.

I dont recall exactly as its a while since I read the books, but I am sure that in the 3rd book "Ultimate Journey" he discovers that the children on his back were infact himself, or other parts of his higher being.  Correct me if I am wrong.

Hmmm... Maybe this is the bit that confuses me. I'm not sure when I'm actually "seeing" something in my mind's eye.

I had exactly the same problem - I think it stems from both the term "VISUALization" and the fact people use the word "see" when referring to visualization.

Blis gave the perfect analogy - when you picture something (naked or otherwise) you are visualizing.  Whenever you think about somethings appearance, you are visualizing.

Right now, think of a red ball.  Done.  That was visualizing. You probably didnt actually see it in the sense you would see it with  your physical eyes, but you PERCEIVED what it would look like.  This is visualization.

Some people certainly can "see" things clearer than others but with practice you can too, just remember its not actually seeing, but more perceiving its image, if that makes sense?

Hey I dont really have much to offer but thanks for sharing this, it was great to read.

My personal view is that maybe because they could see you they arent functional on our "physical" vibration rate and so maybe we couldnt fly there in a spaceship, but who knows?

Hey PR, you mentioned that your Fiancee, her mother and her sister all support and agree with you.  I am not sure if theres a father on the scene, but at the end of the day your fiancee, her mother and her sisters opinions are pretty much the most important so I say screw the rest.  You dont need them and certainly not worth the effort if they make you feel bad.

K what I think I will do is lay there on my back and gaze into the darkness of my closed eyes and try and imagine a different perspective image of my bedroom for which I could perhaps try and move my consciousness to.

This sounds alot like the "Body of Light" method described in many writings going back lots of years, but you can read about it in Edain McCoys book "Astral Projection for Beginners" - its a good book.  Basically she talks about creating a "body" next to where you are lying and then transferring your consciousness to it.  Practice for this involves exactly what you said - transferring consciousness to other areas.

To get an idea of what it should be like you can ask yourself, "I wonder what my next thought will be?", and wait for it... when it comes, ask it again. It's the waiting part you want. This is a good exercise for calming the mind down and improving concentration and awareness.

Hey Stookie, out of interested I tried this this morning and it worked, although I didnt realise it and had a false awakening.  This is the second time this has happened to me - the last time being when I tried to re-enter a dream upon waking.

Anyway, this is what happened - I woke up for the for my customary 5am bathroom run and went straight back to bed.  I lay down and started trying to observe my thoughts in the way you describe.  At first this was really hard as I had very noisy mind chatter for some reason but after a few moments I felt my thoughts become more solid and I was "sucked" downwards into a void and what felt like through my bed.  I was spinning around and having really strong vibration like feelings.  After a few seconds of this I opened my eyes and I was lying in my bed with my wife asking what I was doing.  I said nothing and lay back down to try this again when I suddenly realized it had already worked, which woke up up proper in my bed.

This is the second time in recent times that the same sensations have been followed by a false awakening, which is of course a projection in itself.  My question is how do you recognize false awakenings and what do you do to turn them in to a full blown projection?

The only OBE's I have had have been indirectly induced but I am excited about the whole WILD/Phasing/"Insert Cool Name Here" methods and they seem to me to exercise more control of the mind so would really like to get a handle on what to do with False Awakenings because I think I have already managed to project.

I see a lot of people suggesting trying early in the morning. How long before normaly waking up should one try? I am just curious, because after a couple of months of unsuccesful bedtime attempts, I switched to waking up earlier and trying then, but I can't hit the proper timing as I get up late in the morning, about 10:30-11 PM. And also do you stay up for some time or the moment you are awake, you go straight to AP attempt?

I work strange hours which are far from regular, but to keep my body "sane" I always got up with my wife at 7am when she got ready for work.  Lately I have been working late nights so when she wakes me I have been basically farting then rolling over to go back to sleep - I am finding that this time is great for dream control and attempting lucidity and also attempting to project.  So if you can, when you wake up for a pee before your normal waking time (or you could set an alarm but I find loud alarms bring me to a state which is slightly too alert, natural waking works best for me), give this a try.  Doing it this way cuts out the whole relaxation part of the process and massively decreases the effort you need to put in to obtain the correct mind state for projection or lucid dreaming because your body is still technically in "sleep mode" with Alpha brainwaves (I think) and is likely to have you straight back in REM sleep if you do fall back to sleep.  By lying back down at this point and keeping your mind focused on something such as noticing or jumping back into your last dream etc I think you will have more success than trying at night or indeed during the day.

I did some research and found that it's called "Exploding head syndrome" At wiki they say. Quote "These loud noises are a common feature of out-of-body experiences. In surveys, as many as 85% of respondents indicate perception of them during the onset of such experiences" Interesting! Further comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, for all of my experiences with RTZ OBEs I have heard an extreme roaring sound up until I "click" to non-physical focus.  The first time I nearly excrement myself it was far louder than I expected!

Apparently no one from the pulse should go to "Dream Viewers" forum unless you are strictly talking about LD and think AP is the silliest thing anyone ever thought of because science says so.

Oh, I put this here because that's how they treated Fresco when he went there to further discuss this experience.
Hey all, its been a while :)

Yeah I had the same experience - bunch of close minded idiots:

Stookie I seen you mention in the chat IRC that that you had employed some new methods in your meditation.  Just wondering if you would share?
