it's not in the media because it's considered paranormal.  it's not used by the government (overtly) because it is not supported by their God, 'Science'.    

even the paranormal branches that are "mainstream" think we're nutters. 

any socially normal scientist thinks we're just making this stuff up.

but, out here in the 'real' world, the world of self exploration and revelation, a lot of people know about OBE. 

I figured this out the other day.  The Purple Flame meditation that NoY teaches seems to ground you in the projection and energizes you if you do it before you project and once you're out of the body.

Breathe In White light, pulling it up from your feet through your body.
Breathe Out and see a purple flame coming out of the crown chakra and enveloping the body.

That helped me a lot in the projection.

why don't you all just pop onto a jet and come visit that actual TMI.

when i projected the other day i felt my kitten (Guppy Von Guppenburg III) lay down on my leg.  i didn't feel it in my "astral leg".  i felt it in my physical leg while my mind was focused on the astral, and i was simultaneously aware of both.  i would have thought that something like that would bring me back to my body instantly, but it didn't, it just happened and my astral adventure didn't miss a beat.

seems like this is a good time of year for projectors.  quite a few people have been successful over the fall and now winter. 

I just got over a 10 month dry spell.

The first couple months I was physically incapable because of health issues. 

Unfortunately I neglected to get back to my practice when i was able.

This made it a lot harder when I did try to get back into it.

What I noticed the other day when I projected was that I have been way too mentally active when I've been trying lately.

So my success the other day was because I was sleepy.  I was ready for a nap and actually fell asleep for about 20 minutes then woke up with vibrations.  I think that going to sleep to take a nap with a strong intention to project is the ticket.

yea, that's definitely a common relaxation technique.  i think i learned it the first time in high school psychology.

I used that breathing/relaxation technique yesterday.  It was helpful, though it's a common technique I think.

But you reminded me of it, so thanks, I owe the end of my dry spell to you howard.

one could speculate that any visionary experience in the bible is an astral experience.

there is also mention of bi-location in the bible.

i'm trying to get the time to start an "Astral History" thread so that people will understand that astral projection has been around for a long time and lots of people who say it's wrong/bad now, did it in the past (people as in a group, not individuals).

actually addict, astral sex is a big topic in general.  mostly because it's not anything like physical sex, but also because people tend to be oversexed these days, what with advertising and porn and whatnot.

sex is kind of a crude word for it though, it's so much more than what we think of as sex (in the physical).  it's a merging of being.

at the same time though, astral sex can inhibit people from really exploring the OBE environments.  like John Magnus.  he has some repressed sexual stuff that he couldn't seem to get over when he projected.  it took him a while to finally move past it and explore. 

i recently read "Astral Travel" by Gavin and (don't remember the woman's name) Frost.  they propose using sex as a "necessity" to motivate a conscious exit.

But that's really a lie everyone, because Xanth does energy work a couple times a week.  He does Aikido.  That's all about working with energy, even if they don't overtly say that.

i was just curious about how that habit was developed.  I can't really think of any scenario where that is the preferred typing method.

maybe you can properly attract that future.  maybe you're really powerful and don't even know it.

Yea, I have a recurring dream that involves me and my cousin running from a cartoon character:



Him, but he's an alien in the dream (i guess aliens go bump in the night also).  He has an ax and i always wake up remembering one specific scene where my cousin and i are running across the deck on his old house.  it's night time and the flood light on his house is shining on the deck.  the sky is black, no stars are visible.  i am terrified.  i am normally a child version of me, but a few times i have been other ages (my cousin is always a child).  there is more to the dream than that scene, but in the years between this recurrence i forget everything but that one scene and the knowing that there is more there.  i have never had what i thought was a full blown lucid dream, but these dreams have always been startlingly real, so maybe i was lucid dreaming or something close to it. 

but why would you do that in the first place?

lol.  cognitive dissonance is one of my favorite phrases in school, especially when i'm talking to professors.  i like to point their's out to them.   

but the tenshi also mentioned all perspectives being true, so maybe all truth is true (i suppose that all falsity is false too?), even if cognitively these truths don't match up with eachother.  the paradox oOOOOoOooOo.  that's what makes metaphysics fun.
