I was being semi-serious -- as soon as I read your post, I saw miniature garden gnomes in my mind's eye... I really didn't know where that came from, so I thought it wouldn't hurt to try! But if it were that easy, I'd probably have a lot more validations on my record :p

Well, that one time I asked for help, it came!

You know... Invoking Anubis is the same as invoking Jesus Christ... What you are calling on is not necessarily the entity itself, but putting forward everything it stands for.

Overheard in the Astral: "You do not need a God, you have the power to do everything yourself, and all it takes to apply this knowledge is to accept it as fact."

Your biggest enemy is yourself.
#128
You are your higher self. Your higher self is you.

"But I'm just a human and there's only one of me in there!"

One day, you will understand.

I am massaging my crystal ball.

I see a desk.

I see miniature garden gnomes.

You have the power to face and overcome the fear... But if you think invoking an entity will help you, all you have to do is ask. You don't even need to say it out loud, just formulate it in your mind and do not let go of it.

I don't know about a subconscious fear being the biggest block, though... I've had a couple times where I was scared at the onset of vibrations, but once you're out there, you don't feel fear anymore... It's a very mellow, peaceful state to be in, usually.

Dreams and OBEs are "written to the same memory," so a memory of an OBE can be as muddy as a dream, and a dream memory can feel more vivid than anything you've ever experienced...

Don't expect your OBEs to be flawless and objective! There are two forces at work during an OBE, the part of you that wants to explore, and the part of you that wants to create. You will inevitably run into reality fluctuations if you do not turn off that part of you that has expectations, that has fears, that has doubts, that interprets everything you do.

The OBE state is extremely difficult to master, because you become in full control of tons of new things, new ways to perceive, new ways to move, to think... And you only get to try them all for about 10 minutes at a time, if you're lucky enough that your projections last that long! Imagine how long anything in the physical would take to learn if you only got 10 minutes (per week? per month?) to play around with it!

One time, I woke up but did not move, and created a digital clock in my mind's eye. I saw 4:52. When I turned on the computer to check the time, it was 4:53PM. That made waking up in the afternoon much more pleasant.

Then there's the experience I wrote about recently. I had a false awakening projection where we were being forcefully moved to a house belonging to a person named _____, a friend of my mom's. I told my sister about it the next day, and she dreamt that she was invited to that same house for the night. We don't live near these people, nor have we seen them in quite some time... So it's a striking coincidence, to say the least.

Quote from: Me on another boardThe single most important exercise is what Robert Peterson refers to as Hypnogogic play, Robert Monroe's arm technique, Edison's "rock drop."

Using any method that you like, try to walk the fine line between awake and asleep until you are able to hold onto it and stay there. The one way to do this is to fall asleep and wake up many times in quick succession, try 10 or 20 times a night for 2 weeks.

There's a variety of ways you can do this... Keep your forearm up as you fall asleep, when you doze off, it'll fall, calling you back into alertness. Listen to a tape that alternates between talking and small (20 second) periods of silence, making sure the talking parts are loud enough to wake you up. Set alarms that'll prevent you from sleeping for more than a few minutes at a time.

It'll tire you out, and that's not always compatible with a modern lifestyle, but you won't ever get anything more systematic... Your dreams will be more vivid, you'll have visions, lucid dreams, and spontaneous OBEs out the wazoo...

Raise energy and throw invisible rays of generosity at people!

You know... it's not very nice to do that, cause when money magically disappears, the clerks are the ones that get fired, or get the money taken out of their pay!

You probably have numerous lifetimes in which you were tortured, maimed, robbed of all your belongings, put into slavery, killed in a multitude of gruesome ways... As a child, an adult and an old man or woman... Perhaps even an animal.
You probably have also raped, killed, hurt or otherwise wronged people many, many times.

That's the flipside of the plane of experience... To enjoy the good, you need to know the bad. Philosophers have long considered the idea of perfect harmony, the utopia... The consensus is that it is a stalemate... The end of evolution, or the beginning of the next step.

I don't think you should focus on the black, since that's physical sight... Focus away from all physical senses, and direct your attention within.

That means your attention should be directed to that area of your mind where faint pictures appear when you use your photographic memory.

Look away from the computer screen and try to think of a red apple... If you did it correctly, your eyes should have looked to the top/top right automatically, and you should have seen a faint glimpse of a red apple in the back of your head.

If you want to prolong the time pictures appear for, think of a more complex, continuous scene. Your mind will not display "idle moments" until you are in much deeper trance, so keeping it moving is the way to go when you're still awake. Simulate the passing of time, and let your imagination suck you in. It's easier to focus on something you've created than the random pictures that come up while you're falling asleep.

As for eyes twitching, someone posted a good cure here a few months ago... Basically, every 2-3 breaths, open your eyes for a half second, a bit as though you were "reverse-blinking." I don't know why it works, it just does!

Kiwi, you seem to have alot of them, I'm assuming you have alot of experience with them? Care to share any story with us? Any tips on how to use it safely? I bought a book on that, but it hasn't arrive yet, won't untill another 4 days.

AstralVibe

Actually that's just one board, you have the box's top cover at the top, the support for the pointer on the right, and the actual board on the left.

My sister and cousin got it for me as a joke, because they know I'm into that stuff, but I haven't used it... To be honest I probably won't, simply because there are just too many "horror stories" ; as Stookie mentioned, candles blowing out and the like... Perhaps I will try later, when I feel confident I can protect from whatever comes through, or guarantee that nothing bad will come through... Until then, I don't think it's a reasonable thing to try.

With projection and the like, you are very unlikely to get harmed... That's why it doesn't scare me at all... But with ouija or even automatic writing, you just never know what might happen. You're creating a gateway or attachment point in the physical, pretty much an open invitation for a haunting.

Hey, I have a cool ability you could benefit from, it's called "using a dictionary" ; it's really awesome!

Where did you get these CD's from? Can you download off the net or do you have to buy?

They're commercial products... So you can probably pirate them, but that's highly illegal, of course.

Anyway, binaural beats might not be necessary... I suspect that simply having a voice talk to you while you fall asleep is enough... Google for free hypnosis tapes, anything should do really...

Well, interesting... Something I didn't include since it contains the name of a person was that the landlord said the apartment we were moved into belonged to someone called _____. This person is a friend of my mom's, and her daughter is a friend of my sister's. I haven't seen them in about 3 or 4 years, give or take.. And I don't exactly think of them every day!

Today, I asked my sister if she dreamt of me, and she said no. I said "I dreamt we were being moved into an apartment belonging to ____."

She froze and looked at me as if she had just seen a ghost. "I dreamt that they invited me over for dinner!"

Ahh... Coincidences, coincidences... Not a striking validation, but it's only a matter of time  8-)

Well, I projected again yesterday... Nothing too unusual, just got vibrations, tried to get up about 10 times before I finally found myself standing in the middle of my room... I jumped through the door with my two fists in front of me, kind of like Superman, except I was running... I could have flown, but I was too happy that I didn't crash my head into the door :D

I ran down the hall, and to my surprise, the front door was open... I looked out and the elevator had been replaced with a utility closet, with a bunch of buckets, brooms and cleaning products. Made sense, anyway, since the elevator has been out of order for a week now...

So I looked away and said "Clarity now! I want to see reality!" then I turned around, and the closet was still there... "Damn... What do I do now?"

Instead of looking for the secrets of the universe or making the most of the experience, I simply walked back to my room.

I snapped back to my body, and woke up... Much to my surprise, though, I was paralyzed from the head down... It had nothing to do with the usual sleep paralysis where you can turn around in your body and move at least a little while the vibrations happen... I was physically unable to move, and completely numb, but I could still feel certain parts of my body, like my face...

So I called out for help, and my sister came into the room.

"What are you doing, we're leaving soon, get up!"

"I can't, I'm completely paralyzed!"

"What? Really?"

"No, I'm just here pretending I can't move, what the hell do you think??"

"Relax! Think I should call a doctor?"

"NO!"

I hate going to the doctor so much that it cured my paralysis! At that point I just got up... Only to find that my whole right side was still extremely numb and painful... The right side of my face, the right arm, the right leg... It's like I only had control of half of me and had to drag this dead weight... I just couldn't walk properly. At this point I had no idea I was still "in-dream" ; there was just no way the question would have crossed my mind, it was too real.

Then I left my room and went outside where I met the landlord. He told me that we were being moved to another apartment temporarily. In that other apartment they put me in, my mom and dad were there, my dad said hi and gave me this secret handshake thing which ends with both persons hitting their fists together.

Then he says "Hey... Are you okay? You look like you have no strength in your arm!"

"No, I'm perfectly fine."

"Okay, do it again"

He sticks out his fist and I try to hit it... But my arm just won't move...

"See?"

"I told you I'm perfectly fine!"

"Yeah, I know, I was just kidding!"

And he just walks away..

Then, people come into the apartment, which apparently has a back door leading outside even though it's on the fourth floor... They all seem to be of indian origin, they're dressed in very classy tuxedos and party dresses. For some reason, they had to walk through our house to get to a party. This older lady comes in with a white fur coat and jewelry all over. She looks at me like "who the hell is that?" and I just freeze for a minute, not knowing what to say. "Oh right, you're just coming through, go right ahead"

She looks at my dad and says "Hey... What happened with the January rent, you guys were pretty late!"

My dad responds, "Yeah, I know, we had a little trouble. But here, let me make an advance payment for February." He takes a large wad of green bills out of his pocket and gives some of it to her... It's a lot of bills but they're all 1 dollar bills... I look at the money for a while, trying to count how much he gave her... I see a $5 bill in there... 12 dollars? For the rent? What?

That was my cue... I wake up, and I'm in my room. Turns out I was just crushing my right arm in my sleep.

"Booyah! Not paraplegic!"

I got this for christmas:

Ooh, ages 8 and up, it glows in the dark :d

Anyway, how do you know that it's not simply a misprinted board... If I were a ghost, I wouldn't reverse a picture, I'd throw chairs around the room and burn the house down :p

Something you can try is put the image in an editor like photoshop and change the brightness/contrast. Because with a black and white picture, no matter what font color you choose, it'll clash -- if it's light, it'll be hard to read against the white parts, and if it's dark, it'll be hard to read against the black parts.

I wouldn't say it was a full-fledged OBE, but I have experienced similar things. You fell asleep but remained alert because of the tape -- so you reached medium trance where dreams become vivid real-time pictures.

Interestingly enough, Robert Monroe was working on sleep-learning tapes before he started having spontaneous OBEs every night. He wrote about it without giving it much thought, but I am positive that there is a link between the two.

The tapes force you to remain alert so that you may listen, but you are in a passive, extremely relaxed state. The transition into the trance state is rarely felt, just like you can never really pinpoint the moment you actually fell asleep. So here you are listening to the tape, but you don't know you're asleep, because you're perfectly aware of your surroundings.

It's good because it showed you a glimpse of how easy it is, you just let go, and it happens.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Re: Legal Question

If enough people think the same way, you can start a petition... The only way the law will help is through a lawsuit, but who will follow you into legal action over uniforms?

The problem is really on a human level, if you present your case well and it has only positive effects on the company as a whole, and enough people support your point of view, there's no reason for them to refuse.

They may be bureaucrats, they're still human beings -- exploit that flaw!

There's only one other which is the third book in the trilogy... You're missing out!

And about loosh, I'm not sure that it's actually love, I think it's more along the lines of willpower... Anything that triggers a strong instinct, a powerful need to act, creates this driving energy that basically prevents the universe from ever going stale... And without planes of experience like the one we're on right now, there would be no drive to keep existing. Every action has an impact that causes this energy to be released, whether it is positive or negative.

Well, the problem is they might give you sleep medicine with the anesthetics, or the anesthetics will have an effect that puts you to sleep, so it might not work... But what I recommend is doing a visualization as soon as they start to kick in... Just imagine a scenario and pretend you're not on the operating table but in a totally different environment. You can also try a classic exit method, like the ROPE, or imagine that you're swaying up and down...

It's all automatic, as soon as the body loses its sensations, it'll look for sensations within, all you have to do is create them and you'll be in deep trance in no time... Just remember to stay focused and remain "in the now" ; it's very easy to just drift off and go unconscious.

Why are you guys giving such complicated answers?

Yes, you can visit heaven. End of story :p

I had a false awakening in the bus when I was 13, I dreamt that I was getting off the bus... Needless to say, I missed my stop :-(
