Welcome to Astral Chat! / Short Film/Music Video

I am a big fan of this artist, but I'm sharing this with you all for the video more than the song.

It seems to me to be a really neat take on someone dying.  It's just cool.

Maybe you'll like the song too.....probably not, members in the chat room tell me i listen to strange music.  nevertheless, the whole vibe of this video is just really great.

quite sporadic indeed.

how do you define life?

do you mean life with conscious awareness like a human has?  probably not.

but, awareness is the animating force and energy is never destroyed, only transformed.  so you are eternal.
#1380
that's what i'm doing now.  i'm investing time in other, more traditional avenues.

all i said was it's channeled.  no judgment from me.

the whole of reality is spawned of wisdom and inspiration, everyone finds theirs where ever it is that they find it and that's fine.

everything is as it is meant to be.

there's a seth book you ought to read.  something to do with mass events or something like that.  makes a really good case for short lives.  perhaps it was the souls intention to experience two months in the womb, or it was the mother's intention to experience 2 months of a life inside her.  you know, that kind of thing.  i don't put too much stock in  channeled materials, but i have always had a soft spot for the seth books and that was a good one.

Do tell.  Is he working as a demonologist?

no.

he's just a psychic detective.  honestly he does most of his work with local and federal police agencies these days, not so much tv anymore.  but the guru bit is from this "entity" that he supposedly channels.  he has built a whole "mystery school" around it.

I take it you never attended a seminar. In the seminar setting they talk about the problems Monroe had in the beginning... accosting the local postman and sundry people strangers (deliverymen etc) to get them to climb in a chek unit to test them and build a data base... remember he always was an educational research operation... not a religion or even pretending to be a religion or something other than a non-profit research institute... so the seminar system was a natural... the institute was even pickets by a local Baptist church at one time...

I have not attended anything at TMI, though I suppose I ought to, as i've said plenty of times before I live less than an hour away from the place.  And in all honesty, my boss is probably buddy buddy with those people.  He worked with some of the people from TMI at University of Virgina in Charlottesville some years ago.  I could probably get some kind of free pass or something.

It just occurred to me that that's probably why I have a distaste for "gurus" and the like.  My boss is a tv psychic detective who has gained a bit of guru status, and as much as i like him, listening to his followers gets a bit annoying sometimes.  Makes perfect sense now.

my parents didn't fight, just my mom lol.  she's a grouchy old grump.  i love her, but she just yells for no reason.  luckily i took my dad's example, which was to just listen and do what she asked.  and now i have a good relationship, because i know how to shut up, listen and do what my lady asks.  lol.
#1389
but i don't look bad in women's clothes

Let's turn this into a couples picture thread.

Me and my very tolerant and patient lady.

And just so everyone knows, I have seen pictures of Xanth's gf, she actually exists and she's quite cute.....which is quite a contrast to goofy xanth.  lol.

now that i think of it though, i've never seen them in a picture together......hmmm...lol, jk.

lol.  nice.

i have this theory that monroe created TMI and the "focus levels" so that when he died he would have an endless supply of energy to feed off of in the astral realities that he created.  like a psychic vampire.  lol.

but in all seriousness, i always like monroe and i speak highly of him and the way he made AP more accessible to laypersons (non-occultists and non-shamans/witches).  though i do think it's odd that he never really put much practical information in his books, but chose instead to sell his "secrets" for a couple grand a pop in the form of week long workshops.  but alas, that seems to be the way many spiritual teachers head one way or another (spiritual meaning self discovery).

and frank helped me as well, even though he was long gone by the time i joined the pulse.

however.  both of these people have gained something like guru status around here, edging very closely around cult status.  it's like people pick one of these teachers and abandon all other possibility and I feel that this choice is potentially detrimental to one's practice.  but hey, it is what it is and in the mean time i can have a bit of fun with it.

and seraphis, i wouldn't say that i'm necessarily cynical.  more like abrasive with a purpose.  (that purpose being to play devil's advocate as frequently as possible.  i actually don't express my actual beliefs and opinions all the time around here.  i do sometimes, but other times i just offer a different perspective that i'm aware of, even if i wholeheartedly agree with what someone else has said.  it's good to shake it up from time to time.)

HAHAHA!!

I didn't know he took off with people's money!  That's sooooooo frickin awesome.  I guess he did learn a thing or two from Monroe.

Anyway,

You got this Slider.  Just keep at it.  Don't stick to rigidly to any particular technique or paradigm for AP, explore the options.  And you're welcome for this and any future help.

When I first started I would feel very intense energy surges through my body and especially in my heart center.  These strong sensations would sometimes even linger for days.

I found a few things that helped ease the discomfort and open the centers further.  The first is grounding.  That is really important I think.  Second was simple chakra meditations, often with crystals to help channel the energy.  And the most important was to perceive reality through different chakras regularly.  By this I mean focusing attention on a particular chakra throughout the day.  You will lose track sometimes, but when you do, just return your focus to the chakra and make it a point to perceive experiences through the energy of those centers.  It can be rather illuminating.

Saying it's only good for tax reasons I see as a materialistic point of view. If you're getting married, it should be more than just a physical thing. I'm not saying everyone should, but I don't see it as pointless.

I was only referring to marriage in the eyes of the government.  I'm all for a wedding.
#1399
Me and my woman were talking about this the other day (at a wedding reenactment) and as far as we could figure, people seem to only get married for the tax breaks and whatnot.

Legally speaking I don't see a purpose besides giving "them" another way to screw you somehow.  Spiritually I'm all for a wedding.  It's a nice affirmation of your love.  It doesn't need to be a big thing though.  I like the party though, I think that's a good idea.

My question to you Ryan is are you only talking about marriage or are you alluding to something about monogamy?

oh it's not set up by a human, it's channeled......
