Aside from Shamanic ritual (because they do a lot to achieve the proper state of mind with their plant ally, they put in the practice, they don't just take drugs and hope it turns out to be "significant") the only productive use of hallucinogens I know of is someone like John C Lily who had to develop the flotation tank to be able to separate enough to utilize the drug.

Hi PR: Interestingly enough I have a set of stones that are supposed to be stones that affect the chakras...i.e... one for each chakra and I designed a throat band with a pocket to contain the stone... I stopped using them last year... but, I might try that and possibly obtain a crystal/gemstone do you have a name for the stone...?

S.

Blue Lace Agate, Lapis Lazuli, Blue Calcite, Blue Obsidian, any medium to light blue stone really.

Above all else they recognize all of reality as Brahman.  Call it what you will, worship whatever incarnation you please, but the bottom line is that we are all Brahman.  Brahman is Atman and Atman is Brahman.

It's not that they are disregarding the religion of others, they're just saying that all is one.  We may have many names for god, but to a hindu, god is god.

word to that horacios

i don't know how you feel about this, but you could put a light blue crystal/gemstone on your throat when you practice.

because you're not actually "out of your body".

people see themselves because they expect to subconsciously.

you are consciously looking for yourself because subconsciously you probably don't entirely believe that your body should be laying there sleeping and so you don't see anything.

i have never seen my body left behind, even though i have expected to.  who knows though, maybe it's the other way around.

Hinduism is a word that describes union with the divine.  In India you see distinctions based on the gods and goddesses that people choose to worship.  However, if you speak to Hindus they will tell you that to a Hindu, everyone is Hindu.  You can call yourself a Christian, Muslim, Wiccan, Jew, Zoroastrian, Sikh, Buddhist, Taoist, whatever, doesn't matter, you're a Hindu.

i don't have any monroe/focus based answers for you, but i do have some good ol' metaphysical development knowledge to lay down.

it is interesting that you are confronted with a screen like that because that is a common technique for clairvoyant development.  typically when training to access clairvoyant abilities or intuitive visualization, you will visualize a movie screen in your mind's eye and project onto it the subject of your task.  for example, if i wanted to see the energy/aura of a person to determine their health and what areas of their body may need healing, i would create my screen (often with a pole of some sort coming out of the bottom and going into "the ground" as a means of grounding out my bias) in any fashion i prefer and then project an image of the person onto it.  i might project a silhouette of the person so as to reduce the complexity of the image to make it easier to identify their energy. then i would focus my attention to "seeing" the energy surrounding the person, taking time to notice what color it is, if there are any spots that are less vibrant than others, etc.  From this I can collect information about the weak areas of the person's body.

i know you are trying to move beyond this experience, but i highly suggest taking advantage of this mind state, it can be a very beneficial state for you.  next time you get to this point, try to focus on the screen, maybe project something that you're curious about onto it.  this will also give you good practice in nonverbal communication.  you can't just say what you want to see on the screen, but you can project an intention, a feeling, onto it and interpret the changes that you witness.

i understand that you may not trust me, but i wouldn't smite someone based on personal disagreements, of which we have many.  but just because our personalities and philosophies don't mix well doesn't mean that i think that makes your opinion less valuable than mine, therefore i don't smite you Nay.  but it's cool.

and you're right, we were trying to show the fallibility of the karma system by arbitrarily applauding.

that's a very descriptive nickname.

do you find that you often define yourself by your religious affiliation?

i'm not muslim though.  i don't know what the rate of muslim members is, it doesn't come up often.  it seems that many members are of "alternative" faiths.  you know, things like paganism, undefined spirituality, agnostic, atheist, etc.

there are some christian members and i would assume that there are at least some muslim members.

it worked for me.  neat.

dank,

i like to visualize myself either falling down a bottomless pit or riding a rollercoaster from the moon to the earth.  i usually use the roller coaster one cause i can make it take as long as i need too.

just so you know, i have NEVER smote you.  not once.

in fact, i have applauded you quite a bit over time.

mostly because i randomly applaud, which is what we all decided to do some time ago when we brought this up before.

and, you're more than welcome to come to the IRC chat anytime, we'd love to have you.  we've been getting a lot of new folks in there and it's always nice to have experienced persons there to help people in need.

I'm sorry Nay.  I've been having some stressful times these past couple of days and I have felt a plethora of emotions that have nothing to do with this conversation.  so, rather than respond out of the anger and sadness that have been the overall theme of my life the past couple days, i decided i would do better to not respond at all.  perhaps once i've handled my current problems and have once again become centered, we can continue.  but until then, i'm not going to get into a philosophical discussion on morality with you.  it won't be productive for us or the forum.

i humbly concede and remove myself from any further discussion until i decide that i am capable of continuing said discussion with a clear and level head.

It's true, that's how they treat attention disorders.

There's a really high rate of abuse.  People do what Zadokite suggested and get all kinds of high.

*sigh*

just because some people are spiritually deluded, doesn't mean my point isn't valid.

to clarify, here's my point.

enlightenment, if it's anything, is beyond human comprehension.  it's some abstract term to describe something that "spiritual adepts" have supposedly experienced.  but to even begin to assume that mere humans can possibly comprehend transcendence of perception beyond the bounds of our human experience is just plain silly.  ask a zen master what enlightenment is and they will tell you that you are stupid for even asking.  defining and aspiring to achieve enlightenment is counterproductive.  it's not something you attain, it's something you are and you are it right now.  so, in a sense, discussing that word and talking about it like it's something you can have or be is exactly the same as scaring someone with the threat of eternal suffering unless they are morally just.

being compassionate to other human beings isn't a question of morality though.  morality is just another way that people are tricked into deeper and deeper duality.  nothing is black and white, everything is gray.  but, if you are genuinely compassionate towards other people then you can help create an integrated society where we all work together towards achieving a human utopia.  you don't need to bring arbitrary morality into it, that's just gonna muck things up.

so if you hold enlightenment as some pinnacle of spiritual achievement or the goal that you aspire to or even consider the word to represent the experience at all, then you are a hopelessly deluded case.

I don't know if this is clear, but i'm basically tell you all that there are no rules, nothing is definite.  there is no answer, there is no question.  there is only your subjective experience and you get to decide what that is and what meaning it has for you.  don't ask other people because their experience is theirs not yours and so it is useless to you.  you will never learn to find the source of your being if you constantly turn to the watered down opinions of other people.  everything is possible, just try.

enlightenment is a scam to make people behave morally.

I mean, smileys are how you maintain good favor amongst the forum even though you're the most passive aggressive person here.

So, if I throw enough smileys out there everyone should love me too right?

  :-)  :-) :-)

"bitches love smileys faces"

i'm quite friendly.   :-)  <--see

nevermind then.

i used to have rundown based on that game that some people have liked.

a pyramid is an amplification device.  it is frequently used in energy work of all kinds.

i suggest asking google about Sacred Geometry, Platonic Solids and Pyramid Mathematics (particularly the great pyramids at giza, very neat).

binurals do not induce sleep paralysis.

they alter brainwave patterns, that's it.

you have to make use of those altered patterns.

but totally practice visualization and meditation every day.  you should only practice AP a couple times a week.  if you AP every day it will drain you big time and as CFT said, it will mess with your sleep patterns and you can accidentally create habitual programs in your brain that prevent you from succeeding.

You have indeed joined the wrong forum O Judgmental One!

jk  :-D

But the OP's revelations are somewhat common knowledge in a place like this.  And we all know that common knowledge is just that, common (meaning a shortcut that becomes assumed just because everyone else assumes it to be true).  So I guess we ought to have just said "duh".  But then the OP wraps it all up with some stats on the christ figure (or the godman, or horus, or whomever) and links to zeitgeist, one of the most played out movies ever made.  The OP sounds like a New Age Poster Child, which is fine, but you can't expect us to take it very seriously.

just saying.

you ever play MYST grzazek?
