Dear Noxerus,

Yes, you definitely have the right idea.  Sorry I was in a rush before. Here is a really good website so you can quickly brush up on Carl Jung's Shadow concept if you are interested.  It has a very good layout.

Dear Nay,

I think what Frank was getting at is that a lot of the arguements we have are I/US and THEM arguements.  Many not all arguements but many of them are due to ego.  Another big bulk of arguments are due to Shadow. People would be much happier if people could move into a WE mentality.

Here is a very good website discussing Shadow and the US and THEM phenomena.

Dear Nick,

Shadow is in reference to Carl Jung's definition of the aspect of ourselves (part of us) where we suppress emotion, store memories, events, emotions, thoughts that we do not wish to deal with...behaviour we do not wish to own and wish to deny.  The Shadow is the Guardian of the Threshold.  I will have to explain more later.  Usually Shadow is what you face first as you open yourself up.

Dear GTP,

Welcome to the forum.  I love lucid dreaming.  It is so wonderfully creative.

I am writing this while gingerbread men bake in the oven.  Mmmmm!  Sorry I guess it is kind of cruel to mention that wonderful smell but could not help myself.[;)]

Hope you have lots of fun and acquire the information you are looking for -- lots of people who would love to help just say the word.

Best Regards,

Dear kromeknight,

Wit..ch[:)]  Wit can be good or bad depending on the audience.  I usually don't write with wit unless I recieve a witty post.  So I in turn am glad you did not take my wit the wrong way.

Spice is good as long as it does not overpower the natural flavour of the food -- though I might like it to overpower the flavour of food if it was bad to start with.

As for uniqueness...as I stated before I think we can be unique but not completely separate....just connected.  Do you see what I'm getting at?

Usually I stick to the Gospels of the Apostles and avoid Paul completely.  The old testement I find a bit dated but to each his own.  As for the Gospel of Matthew it states:

Matthew 22:35-40
Then one of them, which was a lawyer, [You will note the station of the asker. He knew LAW! Very well. He would know exactly what Jesus was referring to in the answer he got because he was a son of the covenant, Jewish and knew what the instruction manual of life the torah said]  asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,  Master, which is the great commandment in the law?  Messiah said unto him, Thou shalt love Elohim (God) with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.  On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Doesn't sound like much room for US and THEM in that sounds like WE. That is what I have been writing about.  WE as apposed to US and THEM.  One can still be unique but in harmony with all other things...connected.

Hmmm! As for Jesus spending most of his time angry and annoyed....well we could have a really silly discussion[:P] about well how do you know....you weren't there... again entertaining but a little of a time waster since it is non-verifiable...so not too interested in that.  I base it on the words he left behind and his acts spoken of in the bible.

As for closing the door at the end of the day...now you are playing a very fun psychological game called....lets take this too the extreme. [:P] which is always amusing.  So thanks for the laugh. [:)]

Kromeknight did you help anyone today? [One of the questions in my orignal post]  I suppose amusing me might count but I am sure you have something better you can share with us.

Au revoir,

Dear Nay,

By objects I meant that some people strongly identify themselves by the cars they drive and the clothes they wear etc.

Wow! You have had quite the experiences.  Nothing like experience to bring wisdom into our lives.  What you said reminded me of something Carl Jung said, "We can only change ourselves, not others".  And as another wise person said...whose name I have forgotten..."We can only change two things in life: How we treat others and how we react (or better don't react) to others."  I like these saying because they put us in the driver's seat -- as you pointed out no one to blame.

Dear Nick,

Your post got me thinking of another concept which I find is true.

"What we hate most in others, is more often than not what we hate most in ourselves."

This is a biggy though in that it is even harder to identify than the I/us vs. them thing.  A great one to meditate on though.

Dear Tom,

Yes, please feel free to come back.

Heck, Nerezza is getting all soft and poetic....It's almost scary.
Nerezza is it because all that snow is gone?  Nice to get out of the cabin eh!  I know I sure felt like a new person when spring came a few weeks ago.  I don't care how big a Canadians house is.  After this winter my house felt like a tiny shack.

Nick,

Very well put.  Another thought, maybe if we all did more little (usually unnoticed or unseen) acts we wouldn't even need the big showy ones.

Thanks,

Hi Jouni,

The former is definitely the one I would want to strive for since it is enriching all round.

Merely wanted to point out that the latter (wanting to be seen as great) can occasionally cause the right things to be done for the wrong reasons.  Making right and wrong a very confusing issue.

All the best,

Dear Tisha,

It is nice to make your acquaintance.  Actually, it had very little to do with the forum.  I have a very good family life but a very unusual family situation which Goingslow is well acquainted with.  I was erasing a great deal of personal information due to this...no one in the forum noticed these large erasures (I think) because they were responses to other people's topics.  I planned to wait for certain things to fall of the front page of the board and then erase.  I did not enjoy doing this but it was important.  This was the root of my unhappiness.  I then posted something I felt was very nonpersonal and received a few strong opinions.  At this point I decided since I had erased over 200 posts (comments to others topics) I might as well erase it all.  This way I was assured a clean slate -- a rash decision accompanied by 3 lines of harsh words which I regret.

I am sure a few wondered how I could have erased so much so quickly.  Actually it was because most was erased prior to my own topic erasures.

Dear All,

Adrian sent me an email making me aware of misconceptions that I must apologize for -- hence my return.  I was shocked and sad to hear Tom left.  I did not leave because of Tom.  Two words, parole and family wishes, this is all I will say -- even saying this I am likely crossing my bounds.  I have a difficult time communicating without being extremely open.  So...it is not easy. I did not return because I did not wish to face many questions I cannot reply to.

What I said in parting to Tom was harsh but the strong opinions he presented to me were not...helpful.  Rattled I did not act as I should and normally do.  I did not expect two or was it three lines to have such impact.  I must respect words more in future.

I hope this forum flourishes and all of you do well.  I now have a literary agent who has agreed to work with me.  The key word is "work". So I will be very busy.  I can post but must be careful to avoid mentioning anyone but myself.  Tough when no one is an island and no experience strictly about self.

Deepest Regards,

Dear Goingslow,

Sorry for leaving the title on.  Also I can't delete topics without them moving to the top of the board unfortunately.  Sorry if it irritated you, I am sure there will be many people who are angry.  C'est la vie.  I had a great deal of very personal information on the board and felt it could be misused not by you but by a few. After all this is public domain.  Sorry again.  I know several will be angry but this I cannot change.  Take care.  I will not be back again.  Just wanted to finish cleaning stuff up.

Dear Tom,

You never ever sang a single song in your head obviously. [This answers your question]. Thanks for the digs you erased and edited after I erased this post. I now understand why your teachers do not explain things to you. Oh yes! And one last thing.  Thank you for those endless private messages about why it was useless to spend time talking to someone on this messageboard.  You have a lot to learn Tom I do not envy you.

Dear Fyrenze,

Frank is writing a 101 course as we speak but it will not be posted for a little while (I think).  In the mean time here is a link on Focus levels.  Beyond this just go to Astral Consciousness and start reading Franks posts.  You can also do a Search in Astral Pulse using keywords like each level.

Links:

You might like the brainwave stuff to help you with your meditation. I know you were asking about this is the Spiritual Development Forum.
It is a series of audio 'voyages' that you can purchase.

Dear No Leaf Clover,

This is not about intelligence. It is about the education system and how the education system is setup.  That is all.

Why do these things really bother you?  Why do you see yourself as US or THEM. It is all WE together in this world.  Isn't it?

Getting swept up in US and THEM type discussions or even arguements is generally an exercise in defensive reaction that wastes valuable energy and only leaves most feeling tense or badly.[:(] If you see something you do not like then do something about it in your realm of influence i.e. your children.  I know I have a globe for my child and teach her things I feel our education system is weak on.

Dear Adrian,

Thank you for taking the time to explain this.  For a presumably clear seeing person it took a lot for me to see this one.  All joking aside.  This has happened only a few times to me so I do not consider myself a clairvoyant really.

Many thanks,

Dear Adrian,

Thanks very much for answering my post.

So is a remote viewer a clairvoyant who does not see images?  Why do they not see images?  Is it because their astral sight (while in body) is not awakened?

Many Thanks,

For anyone interested in this topic you can use these links to get the ISBN numbers and/or titles for these books and then get them through your library:

Two good books to get started with for dream analysis are:
(1) http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0452011868/104-0914138-7414316?vi=glance

(2) "The Meaning in Dreams and Dreaming"  ISBN 0-8065-0095-6
I think this book is out of print but libraries should have it.

A good starter website is:
http://www.mythsdreamssymbols.com/shadow.html
http://www.mythsdreamssymbols.com/index2.html

An excellent Shadow book is:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1573227358/104-0914138-7414316?vi=glance
http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/1573227358/028-8411380-8519757

Other books that are not quite as good:
http://www.powells.com/cgi-bin/biblio?inkey=7-087477618x-0

http://www.powells.com/cgi-bin/biblio?inkey=65-0062504312-1

Note: Shamanism is really into shadow work as well.

When I was working on Shadow I was using Johnson's book but it is very Christian oriented and a bit too heavy on the religious side so I was hesitant to post it.  I think Debbie Ford's book (above) will be much more palitable and enjoyable.

Dear Goingslow,

Heck we are only human but it takes a bit more than being just human to apologize. I think everyone can respect someone who has the courage to say sorry. I would like to get all MUSHY on you and give you a big hug but some guys hate that so...how about a few smily faces[:)][:)][:)].

Dear Goingslow,

I guess my perspective is that when new people are arriving at the forum they feel a bit insecure.  I certainly did.  I think we want to provide a nice environment for new people and we don't want them feeling like they cannot share for fear of ridicule.

People who have been at the forum longer could likely pick on each other without it really bothering them.  It really helps when you know each other.  I think it was David who pointed that out.

I know there is a lot of ridicule in this world and that we need to get use to this but I think a lot of us sort of wanted to have a more open, less defensive atmosphere in order to explore things that normally are not explored anywhere else.

I don't think you have to feel like you must fit into a cookie cutter mold.  You most certainly do not have to believe even a small percentage of what is posted.  You can pick and chose and question and most importantly think and ask us to think. But as another person has said...It is not so much what one says but how one says it or asks it.  This is especially important with new comers.  Even if they are looking at other posts where ridicule is occurring they may feel less inclined to ask questions they very much want to ask.

A balance needs to be struck and I don't think it would be an easy one to make as administrator.  I do like the questions you ask and enjoy answering your posts.  However, I can also understand why some people might feel a bit defensive with how you ask.  So you are right we are asking for a small change (but not a cookie cutter one where you have to agree in order to be accepted).  More just to be sensitive to other peoples feelings when you don't accept something or disagree.

Deepest Respect,

Hi There Shawn!

WELL...I think everyone is allowed to make Opps!s  I mean look at me! Talk about Opps!s I keep saying I am leaving the board for a while and what happens....I am right back here.  I don't intend to lie but it just happens. Pathetic Eh![:I] I guess I find this is a great place to decompress with all the hell breaking loose out there.

I guess we just want to avoid the Britney Speirs syndrome.  How many times does she say, "Opps! I did it again in that song?"[:P]

I really like your point of not retaliating.  That is very wise advice I think and I REALLY liked your advice about including people.  This is very, very wise.[:D]

Very best regards from the girl that just can't escape Astral Pulse,
