I even agree to this. Yes, it is mostly fun. There's many could-have-beens that are intriguing and just fun speculating about, at least from my pov. One shouldn't take it all too seriously.

Back on topic... Yes, it can be very entertaining. Here's my personal story regarding these things:

I first got on the internet in 1999, and I came across all the fringe/conspiracy/ancient alien theories for my first time and got hooked. I became fairly active at Richard Hoagland's website/forum, where at that time he had new "discoveries" on about a weekly basis. He was finding stuff on Mars constantly - glass tunnels, pyramids, landing pads, etc. I was skeptical, yet it was still fun & exciting. After about 2 years of "smoking guns" (he used that a LOT), nothing came out of any of it. So then he has an announcement about 100% proof of civilization on Mars. He announced when he would release it and got everyone hyped up. So we were all waiting on the edge of our seat to find... stupid blurry pictures that were even proven to be manipulated. And not well at all. After a lot of hassle from the community, he admitted that it was done, though had some poor excuse, called it an accident or something.

So then I went back and looked at all the past "glass tunnels" & "pyramids" and became 100% convinced that everything he'd been feeding us for the past couple years (longer for many others) was complete crap he was making up. All those pictures went from believable to nothing.

He upset so many people that he had to discard the forum and create a new one that you had to pay for to participate. This made sure that only people who tended to agree with him could comment, and got rid of the skeptics and those willing to debate.

So it went from fun and entertaining to "hey, this guy is just manipulating us for a career". And now when I look at UFO pictures/videos, NASA stuff, and other things that people claim to be proof of something, I can look at it much more objectively. 99.9% of the time it's junk, much like my backyard spaceship. And the .1% I remain heavily skeptical of.

I do believe in non-physical beings, and even those that interact with the physical and possibly influence evolution, but not physical aliens with spaceships from physical planets. That's just myth.

I can't believe I'm letting the cat out of the bag... Please stay quiet about this until I get the government off my back.

I have a spaceship in my backyard. See how easy it is to claim this stuff?

If I had a PhD and wrote a book about how Lincoln had a ray-gun, and claimed that everyone who called me a liar was trying to suppress history or was brainwashed, I'll bet it would be easy to get a small but hardcore group of believers who would fight for my false information. Richard Hoagland is a master at it.

What I'm saying is you can invest a LOT of personal time investigating stuff that is either lies, huge misinterpretations, or completely unprovable things from thousands of years ago and not come out of it with anything positive or helpful to you or anyone else. It's just personal entertainment.

Hi,
Ever had strong vibrations?
Think carefully, maybe you just have.

That what it sounds like to me too.

My only confusion is why Ascended Masters and Gurus have told people throughout time that it takes years and years to achieve this.

I've heard "thousands of lifetimes". I think the main intention is to spur on the proper devotion & attitude towards development: "I will not give up no matter how many lifetimes it takes". Not that it will necessarily take that long (who knows?), but time doesn't matter when you're working towards an ideal.

I used to read a lot of philosophy, metaphysical material, religious stuff, etc. Those learning stages are exciting, but you HAVE to turn it into experience or it's all worthless knowledge. Experience is where it's at.

Would love to get some opinions on this !

It's made up. Not only science fiction, but a huge misinterpretation of Hindu writings.

You remembered the whole 8 hours? Were you trying to LD? What did you do during all that time? Didn't you take advantage of it? Why do you think it would be bad? Is it normal for you to have long LD's like that? Maybe it was really short and you just remember it as being long?

In regular sleep, you don't dream all night, you go through cycles that includes several moments of unconscious/dreamless sleep.

Thanks guys and girls  :-)
Stookie, I hope I didn't sound conceited, I actually haven't read much about lucid dreaming, so really for me it is all from experience .

No, I'm right on the boat with you. Direct experience is where it's all at, not theorizing and philosophizing. I completely relate. :D

In a lot of cases the discrepancies are considered "overlays", where you may be in the RTZ but your awareness has stretched and overlaps a bit of the astral as well. I've seen some weird stuff in my house (including one thing that actually happened later). If you can concentrate your awareness fully into the RTZ the discrepancies should disappear.

QuoteWhile I am here I would like to share here with you that I have noticed more and more lately I am able to consciously recognise why a scene or person/character is appearing in the dream scape and what patterns of thought or behaviour of mine has manifested that person or place in my dream experience. It has definatly enabled me to look back on my life with more clarity and understanding of how we create/manifest/perpetuate certain things and how our actions and beliefs create our experience: NOT because I read it in a book, but by direct experience and realisation.

:-D

If you're going for a conscious exit, I'm not so sure that is going to be easy to pull-off while in the army (though I could be wrong, I've never been in the army).

If you can LD with a decent amount of clarity, turning it into a "proper" AP is probably going to be your easiest bet. The hard part is already done (non-physical awareness). Seriously, use your LD skills as your launchpad. You're pretty much AP'ing already.

Other than that, all I can say is take a break while in the army and come back to it fresh later. Or use the next few years to just meditate (no AP attempts)... hone your mind, concentration, thinking habits, etc. If you do that in earnest for a few years, you're going to have incredible meditation skills that will make AP MUCH more simple later.

That is the thing, it feels like there is sooooooo much and so little answers.

Be content with not knowing all the answers, because you won't ever be satisfied. Otherwise you'll get overwhelmed and depressed. You have to enjoy the moment, time doesn't really exist, all that exists is in front of you right now. Once you find the "now" you'll realize you have everything you need right "now".
#163
I've wanted to try one for years
#164
There's nothing wrong with saying "maybe there is a god, maybe not" or "maybe AP is just an LD, maybe not". You don't have to make a firm decision one way or another. There's something to agnosticism.

Trance is a state of consciousness, not a feeling. There can be feelings associated with it, but trance itself is not located in a certain part of the body, though relaxation can be. I would guess that you're not properly relaxed, which is why you're not deep enough into trance. Maybe you should spend more time with relaxation techniques, especially for the head. Once your body is relaxed enough and sensory input slows down, then your trance should deepen.
#166
Before I began meditation I never experienced anything out of the ordinary either. Most people don't and have no reason to believe in anything more than the physical, so there must be something special about us that draws us towards it :) .

Good vibes headed your way.
#167
Think to yourself "I wonder what my next thought will be?". Then observe. When a thought comes up, start over. The magic place is the gap between the thoughts when all you're doing is observing. The better you get at it, the bigger the gap will get until you can "be" in it.

I wouldn't worry too much about what might have happened... either way, it happened, and it's a pretty normal occurrence when attempting AP. No confusion is necessary. If you try to make sense out of everything that happens during this stuff you're going to go crazy.

But hey, you're making progress. :) Clicking out is a good sign, and now you know you just need to tighten the thread that connects your unconscious and conscious mind together. It's a tricky mental balancing act.

If you're wanting to use meditation as a springboard to AP, I would suggest learning to access another state of consciousness through meditation first. Make this your goal. When you're sure you're in another state of consciousness (not in a vague way, but a very definite knowing) and can hold it, rest in it, enjoy it repeatably (not just once or twice)... then move onto other things. Or who knows, they'll probably come to you first.

I hesitate suggesting a technique because I don't know much about you and don't want to put you in the wrong direction. There are many out there... I suggest using your intuition to feel out what is good for you. If you're good at visualization, a visualization method might work good for you. If not, something like breath awareness may be better.

A suggestion: decide how your going to meditate before you start, choose your method or exercise, the steps that will lead up to that, and stick to it. Do not change your mind after you started, and if you notice yourself drifting away, come right back to it as though you didn't miss a beat. I also suggest sticking with your chosen technique for a several weeks before even thinking of trying something else. It's not just about being able to meditate, it takes time to train your mind to adapt to it, so you can't give up too soon. :)

I spent years yearning for what I used to consider to be "normal", though my perception has changed over time and I realized that there is no "normal" and I had an incorrect perception of things to begin with. It's good to be able to accept change in both the world and perception of it.

Ahhhh, ok.

I have done some laser cutting for furniture designs, it is great fun... you can do all sorts of things that you could never do by hand really... "laser precision" is not an exaggeration!

Yep. The irony of what I'm doing is I spend hours drawing everything by hand, scan it in, and then let the engraver cut it in less than 30 minutes. I made a jigsaw puzzle several years back where I used the laser engraver to cut out all the pieces. There's a lot of neat things you can do, though it's primarily used for real business. I need to find a way to merge art and business...

i can never think i whant to kick the ball or i whant to go in that building when im lucid i just do. its like im on auto pilot.

You have to muster up the proper intent, and if your awareness isn't all there, intent can be very hard to muster. But I find that once intent is firmly placed, the action effortlessly flows. (I know, this is a lot easier said than done).

...but i can easily get constant "tingles" and the "pulling" sensation, as if my insides are being pulled out. But it dissipates quickly and even more so after subsequent attempts.

These types of sensations are common when entering trance and are often mistaken for separation symptoms. If anything, they're an indication that you are just starting to get somewhere and need to deepen your trance. As you go deeper, you'll lose even more connection with your body and those things will pass and the real symptoms will start to happen.

ForestDean said it pretty well.

It's our relationship to technology that we need to keep in check. A smart phone doesn't steal your soul, you willingly hand it over in the contract.
