Thanks very much indeed for your comments so far.

I would just like to say that these articles that are extracts from the teachings of Silver Birch, are presented as they were at the time, and of course are only a fraction of the material that Silver Birch presented over many years.

The reason the Silver Birch articles appear on The Astral Pulse, is simply in keeping with our constant mission to offer as much material as we possibly can, on all of the subjects that we encompass here - which are many and diverse - it is ultimately for each and every single person to decide on the relevance of this information to themselves as individuals, and in the context of their own progression.

These particular articles and discussions are presented in the context of this "Spiritual Development" forum, and which exists to discuss these things.

It is to be expected that there will be a diverse range of views on these Spiritual works, the same applies for just about every other subject presented on all of these forums.  All anyone can do is to make the information available, and the rest is up to the people who read it.

I would just like to make one final observation - the expression "Afterlife" might possibly be more aptly quoted as "after physical life", but there is an assumption that this might already be understood and accepted in the context of the people reading these works, who, after all, are doing so from this material, physical plane of existence.

Please keep these discussions ongoing, everyone's opinion is equally respected here.

That is correct - the "Home" option is currently set to the forums home and not the site home. the reason for this is that the vast majority of returning visitors are using the forums day in and day out, and accordingly recognise "Home" as the forums home - people do not want to be launched out of the forums to the main web site.

It is a simple matter to alter this, and if the request were there we could certainly consider it.

Don't forget salad foods as well!

You don't have to cook veggies. There is a huge variety of cold salad type foods available these days of course - very quick and tasty with plenty of Olive Oil.

I definitely agree on the chilli hot and spicy foods as well - the hotter and chillier the better!

The reason for this is that new posts are detected by cookies and not just the user who posted it. So when you next access the site. it will compare cookies and decide which posts have been seen and which have not.

I am sure the problems you experiencing are not general - I have not noticed any such problems, and we also have over 500 members using various browsers - IE6 being by far the most popular, and as you will see from the bugs forum very few problems are reported here - or by email for that matter.

I would seem that Netscape 6 has various issues with Javascript incompatibility (and other things), but I have to take the view that as IE 6 is completely free to download, that is what the forums are designed for.

As for the forums platform - as you will have noticed,  we provide much more than a basic BBS - and most importantly it is all SQL Server based which is extremely important beyond all other considerations. PHP is one of these open source things I believe, and like all open source products (e.g. Linux)has no single source of accountability if there are bugs and so on. I would never contemplate using Perl and/or CGI  for anything on my servers. We also have to use ASP to talk to SQL both for existing and future features.

I am not sure why your PC is behaving like it is, but it might be worth trying another PC and Web browser if you have access to one for comparison.

You will have realised by now that OBE is a much more common occurence than most people would think - indeed many dismiss it completely. Here at the Astral Pulse you can discuss the entire area of OBE, the Astral etc. with people who have been pursuing Astral exploration for many years.

I would suggest that you consider yourself fortunate to be presented with this OBE ability, and to learn as much as you can from your experiences.

I can relate to the single parent situation - I am a full time single father with three sons aged 11, 10 and 9 years old, and also have alot to cram into each day including running The Astral Pulse. What about the use of modern digital cameras which seem to be able to capture images of subtler bodies and energies  - e.g. orbs? I assume that the ability of digital cameras to do this is due, in part at least, to the speed and resolution involved, and the capture in digital memory rather than photographic film format?

In addition to the word "intelligence, you might equally add "abilities" and/or "spirituality", and you might further add "for the good of mankind"

The point Einstein makes in his quote seems to be quite simple - whenever a person emerges who is clearly, to the people around him or generally more advanced than the average person, or has more to offer mankind, or is highly publicly spiritual etc., then sadly the inclination of the masses is sometimes to ridicule that person and/or attack them in one way or the other. Sai Baba might be one such example from what has been said here about him, the person 2000 years or so ago known as Christ could well have been another - I am quite sure the list is very lengthy indeed over the centuries.

One would hope that mankind would derive inspiration from such great people, and endeavour tp aspire to their status, but alas, the reality is often very different in that some people find it more convenient to be negative and destructive about genuinely great people and leaders and of their intentions.

I know almost nothing about Sai Baba aside from what Robert describes here, I merely wanted to quote Einstein in this context.

Since I first responsed to this very thread, there has been around a further 200 new postings, including 57 in the OBE forum alone.

The average number of postings per week since the Astral Pulse started is round 50, so clearly, the fact we are up to 200 now is a big uptrend.

I am not aware of any other forum on any subject with that level of participation, much less one on subjects such as these.

Also - member numbers are increasing rapidly. Again a reality.

The fact is - these forums have never been so busy!

There are unfortunately people with browser and PC challenged access. Netscape is a definite problem, but as it is a small minority of users, most of whom can download MS IE 6 for free, then we will not be restricting ourselves to the capabilities of Netscape in the future.

PC's have to be VERY underpowered not to work properly with these forums. My own PC is very far from being the latest I assure you.
I think that lack of RAM will cause the slowest response times - 128MB+ is certainly advisable - they put that on graphics cards these days!

I personally don't  think an Elemental/Elementary is the answer to this - although of course they can be useful providing you instruct them when to dissolve themselves after completing their task, or after a certain time, otherwise they can start doing their own thing and might cause mischief  http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>

The shield I was referring to would be a Magically created shield, and which could operate at physical, Astral (Soul) and Mental (Spirit) levels or any combination thereof. The MPR would probably raise the necessary Magical energy, but you then need to use it effectively to create and maintain a shield.  The LBRP in my opinion would be more of a spontaneous defense thing against entities, although I am sure if performed regularly it would effect some protection - but probably not against direct psychic attack from another person.

As for the Karmic side of things - it is surely a matter for each person to decide for themselves,  we are all responsible for our own Karma.  I think that reflecting energy back to the originator would be acceptable I would think, providing it was simply deflecting the energy back in the same form as it arrived. The originator is then responsible for their own actions. I am of the view that any attempt to add power to the reflected energy, in order to cause incremental harm, would be the same as a psychic attack, and would be not be Karmically acceptable.

But as I said - we are all responsible for our own Karma.

I believe you make a good point here.

While people talk about possessions and other attacks by various entities collectively known as "negs", we should never forget that psychic attacks can and often do originate from the physical plane by, e.g. black magicians and others up to no good. This is even more the case recently with the availability of these so called "Radionics" devices, which anyone can abuse if they so desire.

It also depends upon your definition of a "psychic attack". In my view, any attempt to subvert the free will of another person, e.g. to make a member of the opposite sex attracted to the person attempting this, is a psychic attack.

The most powerful defense is to create a psychic defense shield which not only deflects attacks, but also warns you of the occurence of such an attack as it happens, providing the option identifying its source, of deciding what to do about it on a case by case basis.

The thing NOT to do is to pro-actively retaliate (in my opinion of course) - in other words launch a seperate counter attack. Reflecting dark energy directed at you though is a different matter.  We should (again in my opinion) work FOR the light and not against the dark. The forces including those of Karma will always prevail in order to bring about balance.

It is not encumbent on OBE capable people to prove anything at all to anyone - because they are not disputing anything, and they know OBE is a fact, not speculation. It is science that is skeptical, because OBE is, for the most part, outside of their sphere of understanding, which for the most part is within the physical universe. Accordingly, the burden of proof that OBE and other dimensions of reality does not really exist is with them, if that is what they prefer to believe.

That is not to say that these facts should not be made readily available to all those who seek the truth - indeed - that is the main mission of The Astral Pulse. But at the final analysis - those that genuinely seek the truth will find the truth, regardless of what the scientists and skeptics have to say.

I would just like to add that some, but by no means all, attacks of varying severities, might be due to the resolving of current or past life Karma.

Past life Karma might well be difficult to identify, especially when, otherwise seemongly innocent, nice every day people are being attacked or possessed.

It is doubtful however whether possessions or attacks on children or babies are a result of past life Karma I would suggest - because at that age, and stage of their maturity, they would not likely be equipped to understand the Karmic lesson being served, and would accordingly not be equipped  to resolve it. In those cases, your ideas might be more relevant possibly.

There has been an exponential increase in activity all round as you can see.

Considering we started this from scratch in February, and it was only recently that I sent a message noting 1000 posts in the OBE forum and 3000 messages - well now it is 1600 posts in the OBE forum and 5000 messages - considering the subjects being discussed here - that can't be bad. New members are coming on board fast as well.

Robert's new book will be launched soon, and he will hopefully be on the Art Bell show again. Also - the new main web site is nearly finished as well!

I do realise the new forums are slower, but they are many times the size of the basic forums, and have provided many more useful features that people are using all the time.

The web browser and screen resolution survey highlights the fact that Netscape is a has been - - just as well considering it doesn't work well with these foums - much slower than IE and can't cope with the Javascript.

PC speed is important, but my own main PC is an old Pentium II with 128MB RAM and small hard disk, and it runs the forums great at 1024x768 and IE 6.

The number at the foot of each page is the time it takes for the server to generate that page from the database. The main forums page takes about 1 second, and most of the other pages around a quarter of a second - and that is not slow! The difference in display speed is the browser and PC.

Considering IE 6 is free, I see no reason not to use it - and only the oldest PC's should have any real problem with the new forums - and we simply cannot restrict the features and service to a small minority.

Thanks - I am aware of this problem.

Basically, for some reason, on the first of the month, it has inverted the date format, and confused USA with UK dates. So 01/05/2000 (1st May) has become 05/012002 (5th January) - as usual - these things are not easy to fix!

I think the dates are correct in the database, so when the code is fixed, everything should sort itself out again.
