We're discussing actually if there is a common, shared astral realm or if all we experience is only inside our minds. Then we branched into what consciousness is and how it relates to a shared outside reality (that is if there is a outside reality, if it's not ALL inside our heads)

i'm of the opinion that at a certain point, all consciousness is shared.  so it's still your mind but it's also everyone else's.

I don't know.

But I bought another one today.

you assume that anything of mind is fake.

i don't agree.  just because it may happen in the mind doesn't imply that it's not real.

in fact, i think that the "physical" is another astral realm that we are very very focused in.

yea, they talk to you.

i got my seraphenite one last year and within the first couple of hours having him I asked him what his name was and I heard a voice in my head say "Franklin".  I got another word out of him shortly after, a spanish word that i didn't recognize.  I talked to one of the readers that i work with abotu it and she said that it was the name of a place in central america that doesn't exist anymore.  she said that's why he said it in spanish instead of my language, because there is no english equivalent of that name.

to this day, i sleep with Franklin by my bed and he speaks to me in my dreams.  he suggested a particular ritual that i could do when i went to the beach this year in a dream.  he told me what color candles to bring and what other crystals to bring AND, the coolest part, he described a location on the beach where i should do the ceremony.  i had never been to that part of the beach before (we usually stay much further down the beach) but when i got there i went down to the beach the first night and as soon as i got there i saw the landmarks that franklin described.

he usually comes as a voice or as a person in my dreams.  i haven't had time to spend with my new skull yet to ask what it's name is.  i do feel like it's rather masculine though.

I mean, it was a 'new discovery' for this guy in like the 70's or something.  But from the introduction on i was less than convinced.  Something doesn't entirely sit right as a whole theory.  However, the parts are interesting and get you to think about consciousness and reality in different ways.  I'll see how I feel when I finish it.

server crashed, forum got rolled back to june or something.

if you have control over your focus enough to induce these 'visuals' when you choose, then the ability should certainly help.

shamanic journeying is really similar to what they call phasing.

My point in regards to your sister (though she is very young) is that the aspergers may indeed exacerbate the habitual denial of emotional turmoil.  There are ways to treat the shadow self, first being to acknowledge it.

I suggest doing some research on the Shadow Self, it's a concept developed by Carl Jung.  It may not be THE answer, but it can't really hurt.  I'll tell you one way I used to acknowledge my shadow, I would paint a picture and then burn it.  I was symbolically acknowledging that my artwork is just an expression of myself and not a representation of myself.  By doing this I wasn't honoring pride, but rather i was putting pride aside and telling my ego to lay off a bit.  It can be pretty distressing to destroy a piece of art that you spent hours creating.  It really was quite liberating.

you should read the book, cause i'm not doing the explanation justice.  the author gives some really good background.  he also explains very well how one could go about their day, performing many tasks on "auto-pilot".  this is how he says the bicameral man would have functioned and only in novel situations would the voice of the gods be heard.  it's a difficult thing to grasp from the perspective of the subjective consciousness we have today; it really is a whole new concept to try and perceive.  nevertheless, the point i was trying to make was that what people are perceiving as a rtz or ap or obe could well be the non-material/beyond physical 'thought-form field' created by our ever growing use of metaphor.  that's where we're going.  like i said, i'm not supporting this theory, i just thought it was an interesting idea.

i really do recommend the book though, if nothing else....it's novel.  *cue rimshot*

it's called The Origin of Consciousness in the Break Down of the Bicameral Mind by Julian Jaynes.

We've got MAX the crystal skull here this weekend at my store and his keeper Jo Ann always sells a lot of skulls she has carved and charged with MAX's energy.

Last year I got a Seraphinite skull, this year I bought a skull made of Gaia Stone, here it is:

I don't know it's name yet, but when I find out I'll edit the post.

Is your mum's husband your sister's father?

If your sister has asperger's in her genetics that could explain a lot.  People with asperger's have difficulty with social interaction.  They don't recognize the feelings of other people well so it can be hard for them to appear "sensitive" or "empathetic" which can further isolate them within themselves.  Especially when you add to it that she's a little girl who wouldn't entirely understand the dynamics of adult interactions anyway, seeing and hearing the verbal disagreements of the parents would cause immense psychic stress on her.

It is pertinent to consider the Shadow Self.  It's the unconscious part of us that makes up our weaknesses, fears, failures, etc.  This part is unconscious because it embarrasses, threatens and makes the ego feel shame, so it gets buried.  The deeper it is buried the more compressed it becomes and the greater it's projections onto your reality become.  Sometimes this even manifests as 'poltergeists' or very very real and powerful dreams.

I'm reading a book now Stillwater (The Origin of Consciousness in the Break Down of the Bicameral Mind) whose premise is that consciousness as we know it (a subjective experience through "ego") didn't exist until about 3000-5000 years ago.  before that, the author says humans had what he calls the bicameral mind which is basically a split mind.  There was the overt acting part and that person heard auditory hallucinations (as well as saw visual hallucinations) that directed him/her in their actions.  Now the overt side was incapable of introspection and therefore incapable of decision making, rather they waited until the "voice in their head" (which they experienced as the gods of mythology) told them what to do.  it's somewhat akin to a schizophrenic hearing voices that sound more real to them than the therapist they're talking too.  One of the other points made is that consciousness may be born out of language.  Our language is essentially all metaphor and that metaphor has created like a psychic field of reality.  Think about it, you are never actually describing your experience, you are creating mental metaphors that are the closest representation of the experience that you can find.  So all of our cognition takes place within this metaphor field, we never actually use consciousness in "objective" reality, rather our body and brain react to our experience and then consciousness recounts it later through metaphor.  Because the author puts the time of this developed consciousness only a few millennia ago, he says that this new subjective consciousness is still very much evolving and will continue to evolve as our language evolves (and therefore the arena of metaphor, which as you would imagine will shrink as we develop more specific words to describe our experience).

I'm not saying this is right, but it provides an interesting area to start.  If I have this relatively newly developed experience of consciousness that doesn't seem to have any objective counterpart at all (because it exists purely through what the author calls 'lexical metaphor'), but rather exists in a sort of "noosphere" or psychic metaphor field, then it doesn't seem so far off to be able to shift the focus of consciousness away from analyzing current experience or some abstract notion, to fully experiencing the metaphor of another "inner reality" as if we were experiencing our "normal objective reality".

I can go further into this, but i'll wait a bit first and see where this goes.

You have to consider the reality that you all inhabit.

Assuming your wife is christian now or at least grew up in a society that is based on christianity (which she probably did if you're from US, Canada, Europe, etc. etc.) then she probably has a worldview built on the idea of good vs. evil.  In this reality there are most definitely good entities like angels and the like and there are evil entities like demons and such.  If you add to that a very suppressed shadow self (the unconscious parts of her mind that her ego wants to deny exists, full of our weaknesses, fears, etc.) then it's not too difficult to take that next step into demons, possessions and poltergeists.  The bottom line is that as long as you and she believe that these things are not only possible but very very real then there isn't much that can be done about it.  The only real thing she can do at this point would be to call upon a helper.  The most common helper in this kind of worldview would be Archangel Michael.  She could call upon Michael to 'vanquish' the presence within her or any other helper that she feels connected to.

I'm basically saying that this is all made up in her mind due to years of psychological conditioning (which we are all subject to in one way or another, but for some people who are especially good at repressing their feelings this can be a very intense experience) and the only way to "combat" it is either to deprogram some of her beliefs (which would most likely involve giving up religion in the common sense) or use her beliefs to resolve the problem (by calling upon the 'good guys').
