AMEN! AMEN! This is the Gospel Truth. You have found the light and are spreading to others! Praise BE! We will pray for you.

It is perplexing to see how many people had been able to get out of body as a child or teenager and then 'lost' that ability later on in life. All things considered though that is really a good sign as it means that the person is a 'natural' projector and so should be able to 're-learn' the skill.
BTW One hopes that you meant to write,

Hello joneagle_28
Currently I own 2 medium sized crystals (both bought from a store for about $20. each). It is possible to 'charge' crystals and other stones with energy by leaving them out in sunlight (and there are other ways to charge crystals BTW). I get a very good 'vibe' from both crystals and feel that both are an aid in focusing during meditation and in visualizing scenes and images. Occasionally at night and with the lights off I can vaguely see a shimmering energy coming off the crystals - this sort of looks like heat energy coming off a blacktop road during a hot summer day. I'm certain that much more can be done with crystals and other stones but as yet I have not done much experimenting with them.

Hello AstralCody
Regarding those beings that your Medium friend senses or sees near you. It is possible that a spirit followed you back after an OBE. Several ghost 'hunters' have claimed that spirits followed them home after investigating haunted locations. Although this has never happened to me I believe that it has occurred to other people - both ghost hunters and people who have been out of body.
Maybe this is what happened, maybe not. Anyways bad dreams can run in cycles. As can good and epic dreams. I would not be too concerned about this Unless the bad dreams persist for the next several weeks.

Hallo piyal_14
Thanx for sharing those thrilling out of body adventures here! :-) Exceptional OBEs can occur anytime without prior warning. This has happened to me and other people have reported this as well. After weeks or months without any notable OBEs happening suddenly a person finds themselves experiencing a special, even spectacular, OBE or astral projection 'out of the blue' so to speak. It is very nice when these occur (but its too bad we cannot have these OBEs more often).

Hello
Sorry for the double post above as the modify/edit option seems to have disappeared completely from this thread.  :| :? Any way to complete this post the sticky title is "Astral Academy Helps Blind Women to OBE and See" at
http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_out_of_body_experiences/astral_academy_helps_blind_woman_to_obe_amp_see-t37853.0.html

Can a mod delete my previous post above (the second in this current set of three posts).

Thanx

Hallo bluremi
You wrote,
QuoteThat said, if I had to submit a theory on what might be testable, I'd say that trying to "remote view" physical objects that no one else has seen is probably impossible since that would require physical interaction with those objects. In order to "see" anything light needs to pass through a focusing lens and strike a surface. People who astral project aren't sending their eyeballs out into the ether, so this is very unlikely.

Excellent description of the Physical mechanics needed to visually see an object. Yet both OBE and remote viewing (RV) are nonphysical experiences. One does not see with the physical eyes during OBE or RV.
I cannot personal vouch for the validity of RV as I have never practiced it. Yet many people can RV accurately.
As for seeing while out of body please check out the sticky titled

QuotePerhaps to stave off the argument we should all just agree to use the term "Astral Travel", since in the end that's the true goal!

Yes, very good idea. I agree 100%.
Regarding lucid dreams occurring while I am in bed. That happens to me.... Never!. So where does ones' consciousness go??? To the dream plane is my best answer. That brings us to the next logical question, viz, "What is the dream plane?".
I theorize that the dream plane is basically what Carl Jung called the collective consciousness (or collective subconscious, I can't remember which). Anyways the dream plane = collective consciousness is basically a shared state of consciousness shared by all living beings on this planet. It is the sum of thoughts and feelings and so is both subjective and objective. Meaning it is both created by you and me (= subjective) but is also much larger than any one individual or group of individuals (= objective).
The dream plane differs from the astral plane (or ethereal plane).
And here is where I will stop as this is theory and conjecture so I will prevent this post from becoming dogmatic or preachy. (Except to add that during a dream or lucid dream the individual consciousness is on the dream plane while during an OBE or astral projection the consciousness is on the astral plane  8-).)

Hallo ObewanaBe
From the description that you provided I will hazard an educated guess that those Were Both OBEs. Binaural beats are a popular method of getting into the right mental state from which to go out of body. Vibrations are a common phenomenon associated with OBEs. And both experiences began with you exiting your physical body.
And, oh, BTW it DOES matter as OBEs and lucid dreams are not the same. There are similarities yet there are Very important differences between them . Many people believe that OBEs and LDs Are the same thing. That's fine, no big deal. I believe that OBEs differ from LDs in that the consciousness separates and exists outside of the physical body during an OBE. Just thought you should know that there is a big debate about this issue.

Hello Ihavewings
A Very interesting OBE, thanx for sharing it. Chances are it was Not God or some deity being that gave a stupid answer to your question, rather some low level trickster entity trying to fool you.
Being able to summon any astral creature most probably is an innate ability. I'm not sure about all those visions that they were showing, however. Some seemed to be too dark and apocalyptic for my tastes. (LOL  :-o)

Hallo Todd
You asked,
QuoteHas projection evolved or devolved?

Great question. I too have read several of Robert Crookall's books. These are unique in that he was not promoting a specific 'how to' get out of the body method but rather recorded and analyzed hundreds of OBEs and NDEs (mostly written down between the late 1800s and 1960).
Most of those OBEs were of the 'classical' variety where the person got out of his or her physical body (usually spontaneously, not deliberately), floated about inside their bedroom, saw their own physical body (and often the physical body of their spouse or another family member) and then sometimes 'travelled' to another physical world location and viewed the events happening there.
Today it seems that there are many more types of OBEs. This includes Phasing and mental projections. Also many more OBEs are deliberately induced by a specific method (although many first time OBEers do have spontaneous projections).
Also more and more OBE reports include visits to far flung astral realms that have no physical world counterpart. (I have been to a few of those realms myself BTW.)
So, all in all, it would seem that, yes, many modern OBEs differ substantially from those that occurred fifty years ago. Is this evolution or devolution?? Quite hard to say as one can only rely on the accounts of the people who experienced the OBEs. If pressed to answer the evolution or devolution question I would vote (cautiously) on the side of evolution. The one thing that does seem certain is that OBEs Are changing over time.

Hello Simo
Perhaps a better question to ask is, "What incongruities should I look for in a dream to help me become lucid?" Because if you can notice such inconsistencies as huge objects like luxury liners becoming bigger or smaller then that can trigger lucidity. This has worked for me many times (although I still miss MANY such obvious clues).

Your user name is familiar, are a member of the spiritualforums.com site? I was a member there before that site went down for about 2 months. Then all members were required to re-register so I never got around to doing that. But I still 'lurk' there occasionally.

Yes, it appears that you Did manage to have a full OBE. Congrats Are in order!  :-D The steps that you performed to get OOB (out of body) can be performed Every time because you have found an OBE induction method that really works..

Greetings everyone
My OBEs do indeed end with "then I woke up".
OBEs and LDs are both nonphysical experiences. Yet not all OBEs happen during sleep. There are many cases of people reporting OBEs during normal waking consciousness (often during stressful situations). Also most NDEs have an OBE 'component' where people often observe what others are doing and saying nearby even though, in some cases, the NDEer/OBEer is Clinically Dead!. So, IMO these exceptions to the "OBEs occur while sleeping rule" clearly point to the fact that OBEs and LDs are separate experiences.

BTW Bedeekin Good to see you here! The 'old' crowd from astralviewers has scattered into cyber space and I rarely get contact with any of them.

Cheers  :-D

From the description that you provided it appears that you had the beginnings of an OBE. However you may not have entirely separated from the physical body so may have had only a partial projection (where part of the subtle astral body is still attached to the physical). If such a situation happens again it will be possible to deliberately go into a full OBE by (mentally) rolling the astral body apart and away from the physical body.

Good luck  :-)

Wow!, quite the intro. Thanx for sharing all that. I can empathize somewhat as my father was very religious (Presbyterian) but (fortunately) I turned away from organized religion in my teen years and so spared myself a lot of mental and spiritual grief. I hope that you Will find some answers here.

Sincerely  :-)

Perhaps the greatest asset when attempting to get out of body is Patience. Try not to get frustrated, keep at it and hopefully the first OBE Will happen.

Good Luck  :-)

Greetings ManOnTheMoon and welcome.
To answer your question here are three books that I have read and would recommend to anybody.
1) "Journeys Out of the Body" by Robert Monroe (as well as his other two books BTW).
2) "Astral Dynamics" by Robert Bruce. (He also has a website of the same name.)
3) "Astral Projection" by Oliver Fox.
