The get up technique has rarely ever worked  for me, so I feel your frustration. I usually just feel as though I'm stuck in most or all places. Keep trying.

Non physical reality.

I like to use that term a lot because you don't have to get specific as to what type of non physical reality experience it is. Hang around with us for a bit and you'll find we're familiar with many forms of NPR.  :-D

Actually, coming from someone who's been there and done that for the past five years, I'll give you insight on my own personal experiences.

I have used binaural beats and isochronic tones almost every day for years now, and here's what I've gathered:

1. I have never felt intoxicated or elevated to a point where I'd call it a "high" 2. Usually, most it will do is relax me. 3. Many people find they're more effective when in deep meditation. But, if you're in deep meditation, you're just going to cancel a lot of things out around you 4. I don't know what goes on with my brain waves. I know that when I listen to a binaural beat, it will make me tired or will excite me for a good minute. The excitement is paralleled to a cup of coffee to perk me up and the mellowing out is compared to taking a valerian or st. john's wort. Very subtle. All in all, all on their own, they will not produce mind blowing, earth shattering results. I wouldn't go into this expecting that. After all, we already produce these brain waves: Theta, alpha, delta, beta. Listening to them isn't going to make us spontaneously OBE.

I guess what I'm trying to tell you is to master meditation, first. If they aid you in meditation, then cool. I find that theta waves and mantra chanting (especially of OM) will relax me and will mellow me out, extremely. But that's all it's doing. It's going to give you a little push, perhaps, in the right direction, but it won't take you there without most of the effort being on your part.

Also, to answer your question. For me, my favorite tunes are theta and alpha isochronic pulses. I also dabble in the higher hz ranges that are in the 100s. They sound like a loud buzzing but they calm my mind.

I believe that one of the goals of life should be to seek your inner self for this sort of proof. Seeing is believing. Try to see.

Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Re: AP v. LD
March 16, 2013, 20:58:31
All of the above are in NPR but the level of awareness varies for each one and it also varies on you.  Day dreaming --> dreaming --> lucid dreaming --> astral consciousness. Now, they all fall under NPR, however, but your awareness in each one is what varies.

I'm going to give the weirdest analogy of all time so just stay with me for a moment.  Imagine that there is a thin glass wall between your consciousness and the NPR. Now, imagine that glass being covered completely with dirt. You can't see through the glass.  Now, imagine that you're rubbing away the dirt. Now, there is less of a haze between your consciousness and the astral. As you rub more and more away (obviously, this is my metaphor for raising awareness. ), you get a bigger glimpse of what is on the other side.

Now, here's another analogy I have for dreaming and lucid dreaming vs the astral. Imagine that you're in a house and that house represents your dream. Outside of the house is the astral. Inside of the house is your own little subconscious playground and dream scenario. Now, go open the front door. Now, you are still in the house (dream) but you are looking at the outside (astral), but, since you're still dreaming, you are hereby lucid. Lucid dreaming. If you choose to step outside of the threshold, then tada, you have just launched yourself into full astral consciousness. Congratulations.

From someone who has astrally projected out of a lucid dream half a dozen times, knows what the shift from lucid consciousness to astral consciousness feels like. From all of my experiences, I have come down to this conclusion and this conclusion alone: The astral is so multilayered, like an onion, that most people just can't wrap their minds around it. It's all part of the same whole but it's so scattered. It's large enough for anything and everything to exist. Dream, lucid dream, false awakening, full astral consciousness... I mean, come on, it's all so apples and oranges, here. You can make your dream go from lucid to real with effort. Why? BECAUSE YOU ARE ALREADY THERE. When you truly want to step over that threshold, you will.

Well, any strong sensation that you feel in a chakra is likely a sign that energy blocks are being lifted.  :-)

We all have energy blockages. Clearing them is what feels AMAZING. At least for me.

Usually, when I'm in meditation and focusing on opening my third eye, I'll start feeling like a pair of hands started to massage my forehead. I'll also feel any tension there or soreness just melt away. I almost always have a mild headache in my forehead going on due to sinus problems. The third eye (pineal gland) is buried up there somewhere, near the sinus cavity. Sometimes, a tylenol won't help me nearly as much as just meditating on clearing any energy blockages in my forehead.

Curious question here. What tone, exactly, did you make, if you had to guess? I know this may be hard to describe so you can just forget it if you honestly can't answer or pin point it on the scale. I have heard before that every chakra is affiliated with a certain musical note. Supposedly, chanting these will help open the chakras. If a guide told you that there's a certain tone out there to help you go OBE longer, that wouldn't surprise me one bit considering we are very highly influenced by sound.

Sold.

I'm gonna read this handbook, now. My mother, being over protective, reminded me that I'm prone to migraines and should use with caution.  Aside from that, though, I've never had a seizure and aren't on any weird meds. Now that I know it has a two year warranty, I can breathe, now. I have read many reviews on the Procyon mind machine (my second choice) and some people claimed that not only did some of the lights stop working after a while, but that customer support was virtually non-existent and never responded. There's nothing that I hate more than a pricy item that malfunctions and has snobby customer support that completely ignores their clients. The Procyon does look cool, though, for a cheaper alternative, and has brilliant reviews on Amazon except for the ones that say customer support stinks and that it has programming and system problems. That's the mind machine I was going to buy with the wad of cash I already had before my mother offered to chip in. Out of sheer curiosity, though, the Procyon is definitely something I'd get if I ever have 300 bucks burning a hole in my pocket. I am genuinely curious as to what the differences in these mind machines are. They say the Voyager and Mind's Eye are good. Then, they say the Procyon is REALLY good. And, compared to that, the Laxman is supposedly leagues above all of those. It just makes me want to collect some of them to know for myself. I think that after the Laxman, I will splurge on the Procyon sometime in the next few years out of sheer curiosity. Heck, maybe I'll start my own little mind machine collection.

Back to the Laxman, after I receive it, tinker with it, and figure out how to get custom content on there, I will definitely PM you to see what you have. I also plan on doing a youtube review of it because I've found no Laxman reviews on Youtube except for maybe two, and neither were in English. I'm already planning on making a youtube account for stuff like talking about personal astral experiences, lucid dreaming, sleep paralysis, cleansing the pineal gland, and all of that hippie new age stuff.  :-P Whenever I find a product that can legitimately enhance meditation or if I feel it's expanding my consciousness, I just get so excited I could burst. I never expect anything to be an easy button that I can just push and get instant results. But, it would be nice to have a little extra push to push you out of that NPR door so you don't have to try so hard.

Before we sold our Galaxy Voyager mind machine, I did try it out twice. I was fairly young and not too familiar with half of what I know, now. I remember thinking "Woah... the lights are bright" and after a while, it sort of started to feel like I was floating and was just being carried on a journey where I got some nice visuals pop into my head. I believe, too, that there's something to the whole DMT and light connection. It seems that no matter which mind machine it is, no matter how cheaply built or well built, people all get an altered state of mind from having LED lights flashing in their eyes.

Technically, this isn't that out there of a theory, considering sunlight is known to be good for the pineal gland. This probably mimics the sun's influence on the pineal gland except it really kicks it up a notch in potency. I can't wait to see if my dreams will become more vivid or if my visuals will become intense near phasing. All those would be signs that DMT is indeed being released more than it regularly is. I've already been working on taking supplements and drinking lots of lemon water to chelate the pineal gland. My results with clarity of consciousness have tripled since before I started this regime. If this machine does its job, then I'm truly going to have a blast and party with my active pineal gland.  :-D

The Laxman was definitely calling out to me, as well. I saw it, I read the reviews, and I just knew that some day, some how, that thing was going to be MINE. I didn't have the extra $300 + shipping to pay for it at the current moment but I was seriously considering ebaying some of my personal assets just to get it. I was still wary about it because for $600, that thing better last.

I keep looking around the web for info on warranties and all that but can't really find anything. I think I'd have to go to the company directly and ask them about it. I sorta just want to know that if the thing malfunctions or straight up doesn't work, that they would do something about it.

I'm not too worried because one lady on youtube has a much, much cheaper sound and light machine that's still kicking after a decade. Same one my mom and I used to have - the Galaxy Voyager. We paid about $200 bucks and it worked fine for about four years, we just decided to sell it. I'd tell you how it was but I was a lot younger when we bought it and my mom wouldn't let me touch it much. So, for something that's $400 more, I expect the thing to last for at least 20 years if one lady's $200 Voyager has been kicking for a decade.

All in all, I know it sounds completely weird, but I do feel a strong connection with the Laxman, as well. It's just screaming "Buy me, buy me" at me. My worst fear, of course, is that I'm going to get it, fall in love with it, and have it malfunction or glitch and not be able to get it fixed.  :-P However, I'm an optimist, and this is supposedly top notch and looks sturdy enough to me. Plus, anything made in Germany or Europe is typically a plus.

Well, I've been admiring this baby from afar from several months now. Been reading about the Laxman, thinking about it, even having dreams about it, and I've been obsessively reading reviews and info on it.

I NEVER ever thought I would actually own one. I was ready to just face the music or settle for a much cheaper/less effective alternative, when the universe gave me an unexpected twist.

I was hanging out at my mom's today, on my laptop, and I was looking at info about the Laxman. She sneaked up behind me and startled me. She asked me what I was reading about, and I showed her a few pictures of the Laxman and a few reviews.

She stared at me for a good minute, and then she said the most unexpected thing...

"I'll pay for half the cost, honey. Here's $300."

I was completely dumfounded. This statement, coming from a woman who wouldn't let me have an extra $100 because I wanted a prom dress that was too expensive, a few years ago. I looked at her all funny and asked her if she was feeling okay... I was curious as to why she was so eager to help me fund this thing.

She then burst out laughing and told me that I left my laptop open here on a Laxman page, once, and that she read all about the Laxman and was dying to try it out, herself, since she's also into meditation, spirituality, and mind altering devices. She used to have a much cheaper light machine that she sold six years ago because she was just looking for something "better". She told me there was just no way she was going to pay the whole $600 for the Laxman. She did her own research on it and was hoping that I'd buy it myself or would co-pay for it, with her. Ahahaha. She told me when it gets here, we're sharing it and that the terms and conditions are that she can steal it from me whenever she likes.  :-P God, I love my mommy. She's just too funny.

So, we placed an order for one and I am literally jumping up and down and bouncing off the walls with happiness. I will review it as best as I can, when I get it. Despite all of the fabulous reviews that I've seen on it (both here on the pulse and elsewhere), I honestly still have no idea what to expect. I think that it's one of those things that needs to be experienced rather than translated into words. I know the thing is going to shine bright lights at me and has an MP3 player, but I don't think I've wrapped my mind around how awesome it's going to actually be.

When I get it, I'm planning on reviewing all of the different settings and functions. Expect a huge wall of text detailing every inch of this baby when it gets here. I'm so happy that I'm positively bursting. It's funny that the one thing I really have honestly and genuinely wished for and wanted for months now has not only fallen into my lap quite cheaply (considering the actual cost), but that my mother is apparently exactly like me and has been drooling over it, as well.

ChopstickFox nailed it on the head better than I could have.  :-)

ChopstickFox - I've finally settled on an avatar that I like - this one. I have a tad bit of an OCD problem and found issues with a lot of my avatars when this place converted them into a smaller size. Oh, and I have this lazy eye of doom that I'm slightly self conscious about. Just... don't ask. It's OCD.  I'm done changing it for now, I promise.  :-D

So, anyhow, lets say daydreams are always NP but they can go from having 20% clarity to 40% and so on, right, until the daydream becomes more in focus. If I don't hold on to the day dream, for example, and don't feed it energetically, it will trickle away and will fall apart. If I keep thinking of nothing but one thing but a while, though, the vividness of it will eventually increase.

And... this is sort of like having one foot in PR and one in NPR? Daydreams are the things I really know least about, oddly enough. I always thought it was just a compilation of images in our minds. I just recently learned of the notion that they are projections, as well.

I never try to come as being really insightful. Mostly, I'm just glad if I don't come off as a complete loon half the time. Basically, I read a lot. I read books, I read stuff on the internet, I talk to people, and I research. I research and I muse about stuff a lot. I was reading about the importance of diet in correlation to clarity and decided to make some regime changes in my diet and up the intake of healthy stuff. My dreams became more vivid, I got more clarity in consciousness, etc. and those were the results I got. I tell people about my own personal experiences, but most just scoff and tell me I'm being posh and new agey.

Also, when I slip in my diet and go on massive junk food and sugar binges, I will notice a fog creep over my clarity. I make a shake every day. If you want to disguise veggies, just toss a ton of fruit in there. I also add flax seed and almonds to mine and blend.

In all honesty, it's very hard to eat food that's completely unprocessed and without all the excess sugar, and even chemicals. There's stuff in food we shouldn't even be consuming, sometimes. It really stinks but oh well. If you wanna change that, your only option is to go 100% organic.

I know all about non-physical pain...

If it's non-physical though, I believe the pain may indeed be due to energy blockages, as mentioned above. I've talked about having non-physical pain during SP.
#38
Death... haha... so true and yet so morbid.

I was thinking sleep. Technically, we all go NPR when we sleep. I almost see sleep as a mini death. In death, consciousness leaves the body. In sleep, consciousness also leaves the body. The body and its attachment to mind is what typically hinders full spiritual awareness during this time. The point is to cancel the body out and keep the mind awake. The body is just a corpse, at this point. Don't even associate with it or you may be drawn back. Just try hard to become aware of yourself as being a being that exists outside of your body. Whether you're in a LD, or in SP, in meditation, trance, or in the astral already, just focus on one thing: separating consciousness from body, and gaining control of awareness.

Just sail away. Sail away, sail away, sail away...  :-D I'm an Enya fan, yeah.

I suppose that should be something to remember. Trial and error, after a while, just starts feeling like the fuzzy end of the lolli pop. Gets all frustrating. But even frustration is a much needed mental mechanism, I suppose.
#40
I wanna try to AP to the Giza Plateau. I don't know why but I just have a feeling it's an astral hot spot. I wanna meet someone there, get a name or email, and see if it's legit. Yeah, I have big experiments planned in the future. Lots of trial and error so far... tis sad.  :-P
#41
Oh gosh, reality checks aren't a bad idea. You don't wanna end up like that crazy chick off of Inception.
#42
Do they sound like bells, tuning forks, or kinda like crystal singing bowls in a high pitch? Because that's what it's like for me. It almost sounds heavenly, in a way.
#43
I confess, I do love cheeseburgers and pepperoni pizza... a lot  :-D

I bought veggie burgers made with corn, soy protein, peppers, etc. and they are so very delicious. The best veggie burger I've ever had in my life. But, it's just not as good, if you're a meat lover.

I balance it out with a lot of raw fruits and veggies and greens, but, I always eventually give in to junk food. I just try to limit it. Chilli cheese fries are my weakness... I refuse to live in a world without having them once in a while. When I eat "bad", though, I just up the intake of healthy stuff the next day.

I call it the balancing of food karma. Yep, made that up off the top of my head. Hahah.

Man, the mere mention of showtunes songs gets them stuck in my head all day. Nice...

I have this theory. No one has to follow my theories or believe them by any means. I may be so off the mark on a lot of what I believe. Point is, I'm just sharing some of my theories, based on what I've experienced.

I think that, just like with this dimension, the lower/middle/higher astral regions have an ether-like material that gives things density. It forms the "material" and "matter" like stuff.

I believe that for us to transcend the laws of physics, we need to get to a higher vibration or just believe we can do it. There are some planes in OBE that are so close to waking reality, that you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Laws of physics and gravity seem to apply, here. When I have false awakenings, I will literally feel the bed sheets beneath me, or will feel myself physically stumbling out of bed. But none of it is really real. I will sometimes project and will carry on with my business, thinking I'm in waking reality, but will find many things to be too unusual or out of place. Once, I went astral and I climbed a tree, tried to jump off of it and tried to fly (I flapped my arms and everything), but I just fell to the ground. I didn't bounce off the ground like off a trampoline (as some people have reported happening), but it didn't hurt, either. I just got back up and carried on. In other experiences, though, I'll be able to fly with ease. It's all about YOUR mindset. If you want to go through a walk, concentrate every ounce of your energy into going through that wall. Want it. Want it like no one's business. Try not to force it, either. Just... let things be.

I get kind of slightly annoyed when people tell me to just do the mind-over-matter stuff and expect results to materialize and manifest on their own.  :-P I'm not Yoda. I mean, it's great if you have Yoda mind skills, but some people just can't channel their inner guru and make stuff just poof, happen.

I've been telling people for a while now, in my real life, that: 1) Fluoride is bad for you 2) We need vitamins and supplements because processed food strips many minerals/vitamins out 3) Eat lots of veggies, fruits, make sure to get some citric acid, and drink LOTS of water. 4) Meat is okay if not overdone. Balance it out with greens. Anything of the color green is pretty much excellent for the body and the spirit.

A year and a half ago, I cut out caffeine and alcohol. I minimized sugar, although I am aware that many products (mostly processed) are full of sugar. C'est la vie. But, I upped my intake of raw veggies and fruits, and started drinking more water and coconut water. I started adding lemon to my water, making wheatgrass smoothies, eating kelp, etc.

I started taking vitamins, particularly iodine, boron, and MSM. I'm not even talking about high doses here, this is all stuff the body can deal with and is meant to deal with. Many multivitamins have all three of those already in there. I got off the fluoride tooth paste and only drink filtered water, now.

The combination of everything I was doing took me out of my funk where my imagination and dreams went bye bye. Basically, I got into this funk where I stopped being able to visualize and I stopped dreaming. As someone who used to have LDs, SP, and was on the astral, this broke my heart. So, I heard that being more healthy could connect mind and spirit, and balance stuff out, making things all zen.

Slowly but surely, I started getting visuals again. I started dreaming. I started getting lucid dreams, and vivid dreams 1-3 times a night. Before that, I went through a period of over a year where I could recall maybe 5 dreams per three to four months. Then, suddenly, after my new healthy lifestyle, I was able to have full dream recall. I started having false awakenings, sleep paralysis all the time, and lucid dreams that blew me away.

You can tell me the mind over matter stuff all you want. My mind is telling me there IS a connection to spirit and body, and diet plays a huge role in it. After all, we are what we eat. In a matter of speaking.

This makes me wanna open up a stock account to see how many people would turn my head into something cool. THAT IS AWESOME!  :-D A pixie, correct? A pretty pixie, at that. I love mythological creatures. Fairies, leprechauns, gnomes, etc. I wanna see if I can turn myself into something weird using stock photos. Hmm... that can be my next project.

Kinda glad you were joking, I would look funny in an animation.

Nothing surprises me anymore. I've been on the internet too long and have learned to take everything as I read it, haha. One guy emailed me, saying he used my head to make some bizarre photoshop edits. Of course, this was on deviantart. That place is full of the most interesting people.

I try to follow a pretty healthy diet, and I also take certain supplements. They've really helped with my clarity of consciousness. I have a whole thread about how bad fluoride is and about the vitamins I take and how they have affected my clarity in dreams and while OBE, drastically. I should have also stated that I eat a lot of greens, fruits, drink a lotta coconut water, and am a health conscious person.

Diet and the physical are connected to spirit, in my opinion. I just sense it's so. Our bodies are vessels and toxins and other things build up that should NEVER have been placed there in the first place. Luckily, there are ways of cleansing out some bad things, unwanted junk, and many other things that should not be there. One way is to eat a lot of greens and raw veggies and fruits. Lots of water. Adding raw lemon juice to water is also something to look into.

All in all, you're on the right track.  :-)

When in altered states, I have come up with my own pop songs because they would literally just start playing automatically as if someone turned the radio on. Only thing is, none of these songs existed before they played in my head. I spontaneously composed them at the snap of a finger. Of course, you could say they existed because they manifested in my head. I have a decent memory and will sometimes find myself singing or humming songs that no one else knows about because only I've heard them.  :-P
