I think you have given yourself your own answer! If not already done please read the Waking Paralysis section of the Treatise On OOBE http://www.astralpulse.com/guides/oobe/oobe_8.htm#1 or check out Paralysis and the projected double in Astral Dynamics if you have a copy.

One of the 1st times I had a sleep paralysis feedback loop with the projected double the living be-Jesus was scared out of me! So I really do respect how you may be feeling!

In my case I felt as if I was beset by an ominous black amorphous shape flying around the room trying to get into me or at me. At the same time I was totally frozen and was feeling an extreme sense of dread. When I was eventually able to move around I felt very unsteady on my feet and still not at ease at all.

Interestingly I had a sleep paralysis event about 4 weeks ago. Although this time I still felt the dis-ease, I found that by recognising what had occurred fair and square I was able to steady my nerves much more quickly!  

Please be comforted that the 'shook up' feeling will dissipate over a few hours if not over the day ahead. Perhaps go for a refreshing walk to enable you to let it go and ground yourself! There is absolutely no need to worry about it to be honest!

Take it you are not referring to Astral Pulse?

Had a quick look at the English part of the site and it's English link. This sort of cheap psychology has been around since the dark ages. These sort of cons are usually a means to sell some vastly expensive course or book, and are usually not worth the postage stamps on the wrapper they would come packed in. I'd say you are right about the manipulation, and what you are sensing are simply greed and power (abusive)!

Probably best avoided.

If you are using Reiki then you are attuning with a source of Universal energy and you would not be using your own energy up. Hay fever like symptoms could have a multitude of causes. Yet the feeling tired at night is quite natural and a good indication that the healing is being effective.

Personally I can't say for sure that I have experienced void like areas.

Although on occasion I have awareness of similar in deep meditation, and had still felt aas if in body, but this is more likened to feeling as if one is inside a very expansive shell or cocoon like structure. On the other hand I have classic tunnel type experiences in the past (although it has been a long time), but would have to trawl through memory to be able to rekindle in words what they were like.

One I can recollect (although fuzzy at best, but thanks for kick starting my old brain cells) was following a candle or point of light type mediation. This was something I had been practicing in my teens back in the mid/late 70's, and I had been pleased to be able to maintain the visualisation exercise without aid in my minds eye for a number of minutes at any given time.

I remember retiring one evening after meditation and noticed that the point of light had returned in my minds eye. A decided to focus on this and noticed with intrigue that it had begun to expand and form into a cone structure. As my attention focused on this I felt as if I was putting my head through a ships porthole, or perhaps imagine one of those daft cones people use to stop their dogs scratching themselves. I can't recollect if there were vibrations before this or not and there were again classic rushing wind sensations as I transitioned almost seamlessly through into a wide undulating endless tunnel. Although the point of light still appeared tantalisingly ahead! The colours as far as I remember were everything from areas of silvery grey to myriad sparkling shapes and lights. I do remember stopping at one point and looking as if to my right – as I did so another area appeared to open up onto a view of the Earth, and immediately after that I was suddenly sucked into a maelstrom which felt quite orientating... although on reflection this may have been an astral wind event as described in Astral Dynamics!

I am sorry to say that I can't remember much after that, and I have to trust that my memory is correct (at least in part), and that I am not fantasising this based on what I have subsequently read.

Hi Adam,

Well just having a gold star does not make me any sort of expert. I'm just as much a learner on the Journey as anyone else here! Although I have had a few experiences and found comparing my own to the ones shared by the good forum users here to be of great value. I suppose we all attempt to build a mind map of our little parts of reality – so good luck on perfecting your theories in turn.

The chapter on Spiritual Energy Restoration between lives is intriguing. I have memory of something similar following a NDE like experience over 20's years ago. Appreciate you are living with TMJ and respect that you have enough discomfort without additional uncomfortable energy related sensations around the throat area during your OB practice attempts!

What I have noticed over the last few years more with trance states related to mediumistic development, but also from reading other peoples experiences with trance for OBE work - is that discomfort of various forms can be experienced in and around the throat or vishuddha chakra.

Certainly several years ago while I experienced a variety of uncomfortable symptoms including: – neck pain (although that was related to an old whip lash hyperextension injury), gagging, difficulty swallowing, excess mucus production and tightening sensations around the throat etc.  I can also appreciate that mental stress can exacerbate neck problems and the region in and around that area including the jaw. Can I assure you that the energy related feelings will ease given time!

Like you I also had a father who although not physically abusive 'was' (with respect to him as he is a better person now) psychologically abusive and yelled a lot! This was in part due to his dominant intellectual type nature and his conditioning in his formative years etc.

So I can also empathise in small part with the root cause of your difficulties. As you can see not dissimilar circumstances had a detrimental impact on my own self worth, and ability to be able to handle my self in this world with any reasonable sense of self confidence! It also had an impact on my ability to be effective at school in terms of getting to grips with my academic studies (I had the potential to be a very high achiever). I am glad to say that in my case I was able to overcome these barriers to a great extent as I moved through into my 20's and 30's, but it took some doing to be honest!

In my case it took for things to come to a head during a difficult confrontation my father and we fell out for several years (literally not speaking to each other and only via 3rd parties at that). The healing of this was precipitated by the passing of my dad's 2nd wife – in that that painful event and in the approach to her passing the family came back together. I recognised that I had held on to blame mentality for simply too long and realised that my father (warts and all) was human after all (his grief was heart rending). The realisation was that he as much as I deserved better! So I am glad to say that: my and my sibling's relationships with my father had matured over time and old sores were healed to a great extent.

I would not begin to be able to say that I am some sort of expert on the energetic body and the relationship of chakras, but as you may already know the throat chakra area relates to a number of physical, psychological, mental, emotional attributes as discussed in other words above. As you can see personal attributes like motivation, communication, personal will, sense of self, one's place in the world and ability to assimilating knowledge seem to fit the bill here.

Again I respect your circumstances are different and that you may or may not have different issues to deal with. Yet I also found (for other reasons as well) that overcoming issues related to the heart/emotions seemed to also be related to discomfort on many levels with the throat area as well, and that they came to a head

I regurgitated a lot of old angst in a personal healing process over a number of years and recognised that some of my physical, emotional issues gone through related to spiritual and personal growth. I realised that I simply needed help and was too arrogant to ask for it! As soon as I started to ask for help or guidance it came along (much to my surprise). If you have not already done so please do ask for healing and please do have a look at the healing section on the forum. Needless to say – given time I believe that each of us can overcome what appear to have been barriers set before us by others, and in our turn be able to grow and develop according to the challenges set by our own higher selves (such as the ones I have given as examples). It is my hope that perhaps you might gleam some insight in my humble words that may help you to see beyond the pale in overcoming often deeply personal issues.
