Hi all,

Yet again another attempt at giving up the dreaded weed!

On this occasion the auspicious day was on Jan 7th and thankfully I'm still going strong. Just after the New Year I had a stinking cold and realised with self disgust and loathing that I had merrily smoked all the way through it!

Also with all the healthy NEW practice back in December and revitalised interest in self healing it seem high time to put resolve into practice.

Oddly the extra NEW work in December seemed to go hand in hand with increased nicotine/cigarette craving. I was puzzled at this and now assume that NEW precipitated in part a healing crisis which was initially symptomized by mild case of the winter blues and the later viral infection.

It seemed sensible to apply some basic lateral and intuitive thinking and and I took the decision to 'Never Take Another Puff'.

Did anyone else Quit and are you strugglingor not? If so share your experiences here.

Well, first of all, does anyone know about the lower astral realm? You know, the place that has the neat creatures of all shapes, forms and sizes, such as snakes with wings, astral larvae, half human, half something else, horned looking beings that look human but are not necessarily human and so on. That mostly is where I take interest in exploring and learning more about, but I tend to at times get myself into big trouble...especially if I just accidentally wind up projecting there without protecting myself with white light or using some other protective technique first.

If anyone else on here takes interest in this kind of realm that I've briefly described...please feel free to private message, e-mail or post on here to me! Let's open this new board up! Of course, if you don't take a particular interest in the lower astral realms, we can also talk about the higher one's instead. The higher one's generally seem to be much more stable and don't seem to really fluctuate, flicker or suddenly disappear as much as the lower realms do. Also, does anyone know why that may be? Why the lower realms seem to be so much more unstable and fluctuate so much more than the higher one's do? Anyone?

As for knowing about the more higher realms...I've projected to them at times. They tend to have brighter colors and not as many astral parasites and bad things that like to attach to a projector like "astral larvae" that Robert has talked about in his book before. Darn those things! The bad things mostly exist on the lower realms, but could they ever be up in the higher realms? Does anyone know? It's as though these little pesty things main purpose to exist on the lower realms are specifically are to make the projector miserable, both on a spiritual level as well as a physical level over time. Over time, a projector can actually develop some sort of physical sickness or even a type of mental problem associated from getting one of these nasty things attached to them from after they've projected to these lower realms. So, please go to the lower realms with caution, and don't forget to try using some form of spiritual protection before attempting to project to one of the lower realms!

One of the other things that I've noticed about the higher realms are people who behave as though they are some sort of teacher. They have a type of Medieval feeling and style of clothing that they have about them. I like seeing them. They don't appear to be speaking with their mouth but mostly with thoughts, feelings and actions. I think that's pretty neat. Has anyone ever projected before to the higher realms and know and have seen what I've just talked about here, about these kinds of people? If so, please do let me know!

Well, I believe that I've already written too much here! Sorry about that! I just love this sort of subject and would really love to hear from other's who possibly know or who have had experiences similar to what I've described here before.

In the selfish pursuit of my mediumistic studies I have been very blessed by some great tutors. Three of them: Sue Rowlands, David Rogers and Marcus Bezerra also do some great work in raising awareness and fundraising for local and international children's charities.

Kawaguchi was a Japanese Buddhist monk, and although his story is written as a travelogue, it provides Western gaze upon Oriental perception in how one man searched for truth and enlightenment. Some of his experience is harrowing to the extreme and also full of imaginary fears, but on the other hand he reveals glistening moments if tranquility which fills the reader with a yearning to share his experience of joy with this remarkable individual.

I lost my copy, probably with an ex girlfriend... ah well.

hmmm, i adapted  (through trial and error) the technique from IIH:

instead of dry skin brushing i use standard hot water/soap to open the pores of the skin (i have "harsh" sponge too []), then take cold shower to close the pores (clean now)

most people just get out after hot shower/bath and immediately their pores are stucked again with dirt from towel or clothes they wear, or when they start some actvity

i also noticed improvement of skin condition

Many thanks for the links, I hope to try and get to see each of the episodes. Everyman documentaries are usually very good, hopefully this one will be a balanced and impartial look at mediumship.

I'm not familiar with any of the mediums taking part in the show so that should prove to be interesting too.

My sister has had a reading with Derek Acorah that contained some astonishingly accurate information, my mother has also had readings in a spiritualist church that were also very accurate and incidentally the spirit that came through was the same on both occasions.

What are the workshops like that you went to? Were they like the development groups that are often held at spiritualist churches?

It's something that fascinates me greatly but due to my living abroad and other personal issues regarding the subject it's something that I can't really explore as I would wish.

Appreciate you are living with TMJ and respect that you have enough discomfort without additional uncomfortable energy related sensations around the throat area during your OB practice attempts!

What I have noticed over the last few years more with trance states related to mediumistic development, but also from reading other peoples experiences with trance for OBE work - is that discomfort of various forms can be experienced in and around the throat or vishuddha chakra.

Certainly several years ago while I experienced a variety of uncomfortable symptoms including: – neck pain (although that was related to an old whip lash hyperextension injury), gagging, difficulty swallowing, excess mucus production and tightening sensations around the throat etc.  I can also appreciate that mental stress can exacerbate neck problems and the region in and around that area including the jaw. Can I assure you that the energy related feelings will ease given time!

Like you I also had a father who although not physically abusive 'was' (with respect to him as he is a better person now) psychologically abusive and yelled a lot! This was in part due to his dominant intellectual type nature and his conditioning in his formative years etc.

So I can also empathise in small part with the root cause of your difficulties. As you can see not dissimilar circumstances had a detrimental impact on my own self worth, and ability to be able to handle my self in this world with any reasonable sense of self confidence! It also had an impact on my ability to be effective at school in terms of getting to grips with my academic studies (I had the potential to be a very high achiever). I am glad to say that in my case I was able to overcome these barriers to a great extent as I moved through into my 20's and 30's, but it took some doing to be honest!

In my case it took for things to come to a head during a difficult confrontation my father and we fell out for several years (literally not speaking to each other and only via 3rd parties at that). The healing of this was precipitated by the passing of my dad's 2nd wife – in that that painful event and in the approach to her passing the family came back together. I recognised that I had held on to blame mentality for simply too long and realised that my father (warts and all) was human after all (his grief was heart rending). The realisation was that he as much as I deserved better! So I am glad to say that: my and my sibling's relationships with my father had matured over time and old sores were healed to a great extent.

I would not begin to be able to say that I am some sort of expert on the energetic body and the relationship of chakras, but as you may already know the throat chakra area relates to a number of physical, psychological, mental, emotional attributes as discussed in other words above. As you can see personal attributes like motivation, communication, personal will, sense of self, one's place in the world and ability to assimilating knowledge seem to fit the bill here.

Again I respect your circumstances are different and that you may or may not have different issues to deal with. Yet I also found (for other reasons as well) that overcoming issues related to the heart/emotions seemed to also be related to discomfort on many levels with the throat area as well, and that they came to a head

I regurgitated a lot of old angst in a personal healing process over a number of years and recognised that some of my physical, emotional issues gone through related to spiritual and personal growth. I realised that I simply needed help and was too arrogant to ask for it! As soon as I started to ask for help or guidance it came along (much to my surprise). If you have not already done so please do ask for healing and please do have a look at the healing section on the forum. Needless to say – given time I believe that each of us can overcome what appear to have been barriers set before us by others, and in our turn be able to grow and develop according to the challenges set by our own higher selves (such as the ones I have given as examples). It is my hope that perhaps you might gleam some insight in my humble words that may help you to see beyond the pale in overcoming often deeply personal issues.

My granparents gave and gave to the Catholic church (money and time).  But, when they needed some mental and spiritual support of the church it wasn't there.  This is circa 1960-1990, but I feel fundamentally the church hasn't changed.  My grand mother desperately wanted me to be catholic (my mother is a fallen catholic, married a luthern of all things! but my parents were 100% not religious).  I spent a summer in vacation bible school (in which they couldn't answer my questions), as well as innumerable masses on sunday mornings when I spent the weekend with them.

In hindsight, that may have started my metaphysical awakening.  Nothing like sitting in an old church during a high mass to get some energy sensations going []

I have had two good friends that were Mormon.  They never preeched about it and it didn't come up.  I've had many friends that didn't drink, it's never been an issue.

In my part of the country, there aren't a lot of 'cultish' christian style churches.  They tend to be in 2 other distinct parts of the country.  I'm not so sure it's the religion that's the issue.  Most of these people were 'nut jobs' before they joined the cults.  The cults are more of a justification for their lunacy?

Chicken and egg question:  Which came first, the Cult or the NutJob?

LOL..his he the character from Benny Hill?  

Of course being from the States I don't know too much about your regular shows.  But I just love some of the shows on BBC.  oh, like... my favorite, "Keeping Up Appearances"  Got to love the way she say Bouquet, instead of Bucket..LOL. I use to watch "Upstairs, downstairs" and my new one is the....Oh, geez, I forgot the first part..I think it is the "Vicar Of Dublin"  oh but she is good!  Love her humor!

While I type this, my internet has gone down, but I'm able to type away..oh..goodies.[]  Think I'll chat away then...hmmmm...lets see, what else do I like on BBC..

They have their own version of "While You Were Out"  always fixen up the backyards.. Does everyone have fenced in backyards like that?  I would love a fence!  No worries for the little ones or the new dog that hopefully we will get one day.
