Welcome to Astral Chat! / Re: Prison Planet?

Lets go with the theory that as eternal consciousness, we are evolving in to love. Not just learning how to love but to actually be love. I know that sounds like some new age hippy stuff but lets go with that for now since it is one of the most dominate philosophies right now.

To be love, it is not enough to only care deeply for others that love you and treat you right. You would have to love and forgive all those who have wronged you in even the most heinous of ways. Actually, you wouldn't have to forgive them because as love, you never judged them in the first place. Sadly, it takes some unimaginable circumstances to place us in so that we are faced with the lessons that will test us.

Many people are willing to forgive some really bad wrongs but think the lessons of the Bible and other religious books and teachings that tell us to turn the other cheek and to love thy neighbor have loop holes that can be applied under the most extreme circumstances. So it's okay to pick and choose some teachings and take them literally when it suits us just fine, while we dismiss others depending on this, that, or the other.

If a parent loves the murderer of their child, are they crazy or just as "evil" themselves? In either case, not too many people would see them as normal or good parents.

Particularly in America, we are indoctrinated under the illusion that there is such a thing called justice. We just have to have someone punished in some way for doing something wrong against us. Now I know that we can't just let murderers and rapists roam the streets at large and I'm certainly not for that, but when we're busy getting ourselves some payback, we shouldn't kid ourselves thinking that justice has anything to do with it.

But I believe like you do Cody and I also think that we also exist in other "worlds" under different sets of socially acceptable behaviors and norms. How much they differ, I can't begin to say but just look at how much diversity there is in our culture here on Earth. Moral values, political systems, and religious beliefs are just a few of the tools used to keep us separated. Can you imagine just how much better we would be if we thought of ourselves as just Earthlings rather than Americans, English, or Chinese to name a few.

This systemic strategy of divide and conquer only makes sense and wouldn't even be possible, IMO, unless we were being played like puppets.Yes sir, I'm calling this one a conspiracy. :-D

Anyhow, that's just one way to look at it and it isn't necessarily my personal belief.

Chops, you freak me out sometimes. I had an OOBE two days ago that fits almost perfectly with yours. The only difference is that when I realized I was descending to rapidly, it was already too late.

I went kablam into the ground and actually penetrated it for about ten feet or so. The interesting part is that I lost my vision as soon as my head was buried as if I had physically hit the ground (if one could do so without dying that is). :-D

I can only give you a broad explanation. Different cultures have different beliefs in regards to what the "astral" is exactly. But in general, many people perceive it to consist of many different realms/planes/ dimensions including our own physical reality. We can interact with non-physical entities including "aliens", ghosts and spirit guides. That is by no means all but just a general basis.

I recommend that you abstain from forming an opinion too early and please hold off from adopting the opinion of someone else as your own until you have enough personal experiences to compare them to others.

I've noticed that some people get upset when we tell them that because they think that it is the same exact "place" for everyone and therefor there should be a universal definition or description. Nothing could be further away from impossible without actually being so.

I'm not trying to sound like a mystic nor am I purposely being cryptic.  :-)

Good luck.

I still have some trouble every once in a while maintaining my awareness and not getting caught up in the narrative of the dream. You'll get more and more control as you start having more experiences.

The 3-D blackness almost always occurs to me when I am projecting from a dream. The original dream that I gained my awareness in will start to destabilize and fade away to the blackness. That's when you can "go" anywhere you like.

Anything goes in the "astral".

You are really progressing. That's awesome! 8-)
#456
You are having spontaneous out of body experiences. OOBE and AP are the same thing. I have read many accounts where the people say that they felt real heavy and could barely move.

The next time this happens, acknowledge the fact that you are having an OOBE and that you can move as fast as you like. That should take care of it. It's really as simple as just thinking it.

Since you are already aware of what you are doing when they occur spontaneous, you should have no real problem inducing an OOBE intentionally. Just don't over think the process and try not to expect anything.

And welcome to the Pulse.! :-) :-)

Darshan, please disregard anything that says "this is the only way". Lie in whatever position you like. Sit up if you wish.

#458
Never mind the other stuff.

To answer your question, there is no technique or method that can be applied that will lead to 100% accurate interpretation of anything while "out". :-)

I'd be happy with half that. :-)
#459
You are looking for an answer that doesn't exist. I have had many experiences that have proved to ME that there is more to this than just my imagination, though there is most certainly that as well. Unfortunately for you, I have no experiences that can prove this to YOU.

What we are telling you is that many people have taken the time to prove to themselves the accuracy and validity of their experiences but nobody has yet figured out how to prove it to you.

Personal experience trumps all.

QuoteIt seems possible that instead of actually going anywhere when you astral travel, you could just be imagining that you've gone places. And even if you don't completely imagine places, your imagination could still fill in some things, making your experience inaccurate and partially imagined.

If you can not accept this statement, then you can't be satisfied.

Expectations = Disappointments

#460
There are no shortcuts for experience. Like everything in life, you have to decide for yourself the validity of the experience.

With time, you will come to a satisfactory conclusion as to whether or not this is all just your imagination.

Very interesting story. Did the rail cars have any significance to you? There could be many different reasons why you didn't contact the right "P.L." and rest assured that I don't know any of them. :-D

Lightbeam is much more adept in this area and I'm sure she'll be around to help you. :-)

But it sounds like you were not disappointed overall and that's always positive.
#462
Have you tried hypnosis? It is a very credible and promising practice. It's not even that expensive anymore. Since you can project, you're almost a shoe-in for going under.

Think about it.
#463
Does anyone else see the problem with telling a self admittedly hypochondriac that he needs to see a Dr?

He has seen them aplenty as well as the mental docs according to past posts so Cody, my friend, I tell you this with sincere kindness and concern. It's time to mature.

You know this already. :-)
#464
QuoteI used to like the challenge of teaching skeptics how to OOBE. I actually found it quite easy, which might give a little clue as to a type of successful mindset.

I thought about this for awhile and thought about how unfair it is, if true, that a skeptic can have an easier time than an open-minded person with sincere desire.

The only thing that I can think of is that a skeptic might give it a real chance since they want to prove that it doesn't work and therefor has no expectations. Well, I think expectations are a real killer for achieving an OOBE.

Just my thoughts but you may be right.
#465
Occasionally, they can start almost immediately and this is usually surprising. Other times they don't seem to occur for several maybe even ten minutes or so. This is also the time that I have seen things that turned out to be true. Most images seem random and disconnected but the precognitive ones always jump out and become engrained.

#466
QuoteHowever, as a direct result of my "spiritual awakening" (or whatever you want to call it) some 9ish months ago, I'm simply happier. Knowing, or in my case believing (I hope to "know" this some day), that we are eternal, non-physical consciousnesses temporarily inhabiting physical bodies, makes it much easier to be truly happy in this life, in this incarnation. And after all, what's more important than being happy?

Knowing will come with time and more experience. Some people are afraid to acknowledge certain things to themselves as if doing so will cause them to suddenly become irrational thinkers prone to delusions who will never be taken serious again. They adhere to strict definitions so that nothing can penetrate their beliefs.

And as far as to what could be more important than being happy, IDK, you may be right but making others happy sounds important too. :-)
#467
Yeah, drop of the hat guys are rare animals. I always give up within 30 minutes of trying to phase if I can tell it ain't happening. Luckily, I can almost always project from a dream after a failed phase attempt. It takes a long time of programming the intent to do it as regularly as some of us. And honestly, I know some people say they want it to happen more than anything but I question that. :-)

But I don't try to do this more than once or twice a week and sometimes not at all.
#468
Beedeekin said it all well enough but I would add that getting caught up in "is it real" too soon will prevent you from having the personal experiences that would eventually allow the answers to come on their own personally and comfortably.

Strangely, intellect and consciousness do not seem to mix well. Asking too many questions that can never really be answered by someone else in a satisfying way poisons the well. I'm not advocating ignorance, rather self-discovery, the only way to truly know anything.

Welcome!

Don't sweat the fracking. I make a living off the Eagle Ford Shale here in South Texas. If you ever get tired of the cold and don't mind making more money, they're always hiring.  :-D

Many people take a big slight with the oil biz for many conspiratorial reasons but one thing they consistently do is they squirm out of their responsibilities after huge accidents.  If there really is free energy tech and I suspect there is, then it would be in the world's interest for big oil to pull their influence but there would be a lot of misery and chaos in the transition and nobody likes to think about that.

Sorry about that. I don't get many opportunities to talk about certain thought here so I jumped on it.

I hope to hear about your journey and good luck.
#470
I have never used anything to help me but I see no reason not to and I can think of many reasons for it.

Some people, especially those in pain, need some assistance to help them block their pain, or at least, give them something to take their mind off of it in order to change shift their focus.

I know meditation itself can accomplish that to a certain degree but some pain can be almost intolerable otherwise. :-)
#471
QuoteYou know. I don't think we are all different.

DUDE....What are you doing? Oh well, cat's out of the bag now.

It's one of those things that it's so cool to be different and everyone tries so hard to be that they're the same.
Besides, all the methods to project are the same at their core anyhow...turn your focus away from the PMR to the NPR. That's it in a nutshell.

He has some long pauses but compared to Tolle, he's a speed talker.

I liked his analogy on enlightment wbout the t.v. screen when a lady told him how she that she has been working for over twenty years to become enlightened and is waiting for some grand event. Now she would settle for a simple "a-ha" moment.

As a highly enlightened individual myself   , I agree with him when he says it is no event.
#473
To me, it seems like you are questioning the process too much instead of just allowing it to happen. It's really not important if the images that you are seeing are blurry or if they're crystal clear. If you were just observing and not trying to control the clarity, you might get "there" before you even realize it.

If you want to jump into the water, all you have to do is jump off the platform and let gravity take over. You don't have to keep thinking about falling in the water in order for it to happen. Nothing you do will make your dive stop so you just allow your descent to happen. This is a poor analogy but I'm trying to help you see that your getting in the way of something that will happen on it's own so long as you jump.

Good luck.

I think plans are useless for the most part. Having a goal is far more important IMO. There really is a difference and I'm not trying to play a game semantics here.

However, accomplishing your goals should be the long term plan because sometimes we can be very passionate about something while in this PMR but once we phase, the goals that we set can suddenly become trivial in that state of consciousness. It's not that we forgot the goals, though that sometimes happens, but we never know for certain where we will go or what is happening.

For instance, you mentioned the goal of being able to touch your ceiling yet you may end up projecting somewhere outdoors.

QuoteIntending to go very very far is obviously a ridiculous goal for what will some day be a first true success, and something like "I plan to touch the ceiling" seems a bit silly... or is it?

Like I said, you never know where you will go so it's possible to go to a planet in another galaxy even on your first projection. Wanting to touch your ceiling may sound a little silly now but wait until you actually project and feel the excitement of realizing that your finally "out". Touching the ceiling in that case could be exhilarating as winning the lottery (not that I ever have). :-o

Like I said, perspective can change dramatically while we are in a different state of consciousness.  :-)
