A dream is to a lucid dream what a lucid dream is to an astral projection.

Distinguishing between etheric and astral projection seems kind of silly, as inevitably, you will end up in the etheric first, I haven't heard of anyone being able to skip it, even if just for a few seconds.

Dreams and lucid dreams occur out of the body, invariably.

Lucid dreams are basically projections where you are not conscious during the separation.

So when you became lucid, you already had left the body.

Although I must say I've witnessed on several occasions recalls to the physical body where I felt vibrations again and then felt the separation. As a matter of fact, my experiences were all several separations in a row, kind of like if instead of going back to my body and waking up, I went back to the body but projected again right after, without giving myself time to become conscious.

So congratulations on your -two- OBEs :)

Welcome to Astral Projection Experiences! / WTF?

Hmm... are you the kind of person who can sleep 10 hours in a row but still doesn't feel rested?

This sounds a bit like sleep apnea -- you have trouble breathing while sleeping, and therefore you wake up every time you stop breathing, which completely ruins your sleep.

This could very well induce false awakenings -- did you experience more than just waking up and going back to sleep?

They'll do anything to get people to talk to them and sucker them into signing up for a shady bank account...

It's the first time I hear of someone getting instant messages from them, but somehow it doesn't surprise me :)

Actually, I'm the kind of person who could create a million ugly monsters and zombies and whatnot just by imagining them...

When I was out of body/lucid dreaming for the first time the other day, however, I didn't meet any monsters, as a matter of fact, I didn't even think about such things.

In my view, it's pretty much as if things I wanted to happen subconsciously happened, but things I wanted to see happen consciously just wouldn't... I would say it's probably pretty hard to make horrible things appear by mistake...

I'm really not worried about my fears or nightmares appearing -- if I express the willpower to see them, I can probably express the willpower not to!

Well, astral projection books are definitely not money makers... The target audience is so small, and the books so numerous...

Anyway... We are all bound to find out the truth one day, one way or the other...

EDIT: and sorry, I can't prove anything myself because I've had only two exits so far :p
#481
In theory... With the third eye, you can see in the dark in the first place... So what I think is, while the third eye's vision won't be combined with the physical eyes' vision, it will still look the same as if the room was lit!

But then again, the aura's light is possibly like a cloud of etheric matter through which white light passes to produce different colors...

So I don't really have a conclusive answer...
#482
I'm sorry to hear that. What condition do you have, if you don't mind me asking?

In any case, there have been verification experiments (google "OBE verification experiment") where people were able to prove that OBEs are "real" -- in other words that they are more than just a creation of the mind, because they give you the ability to see and know things that you couldn't possibly have made up (such as guessing numbers or being able to describe a place in detail without having been there physically, and without having seen pictures of it)

About the afterlife... I am pretty convinced there is something after life. There's plenty of books by respectable authors who explained what happened... Plenty of internet resources as well. I trust authors who talk about OBEs, since those are real, and therefore I trust what they say about the afterlife.

I won't give you advice about what to do, however. If I were you I would read a bit on the subject, but I think overall "knowing in advance" spoils the experience. One thing that may be useful, though, is to find out about the things you need to avoid (to prevent being stuck in a lower vibratory plane).
#483
But are thought balls actual physical phenomenons?
#484
Quote from: LeilahI just don't understand why you would want go OB when your already lucid in dream. In my view, it's like taking a step backwards.

Well, in my view, being lucid in a dream means you're "trapped" in a dream... But I'm not only looking to have fun... There's dead people I need to talk to and certain knowledge I need to acquire about the universe...

Anyway... I was told that a lucid dream (or any dream for that matter) WAS an OBE, just one on a different level of consciousness.

How true is it?

My "theory" is that I could not stay in the RTZ because I didn't know I was dreaming, so as soon as my subconscious created something (like for instance when I was able to get up and lift the bed covers, which is pretty much an automatic action when you wake up), I didn't focus and drifted further away, expecting things to happen instead of watching things happen.

I wonder if I really did meet my grandfather now, too... I need to go back and ask him if he saw me... heh
#485
They were very shortened days though... Basically each time I got up from bed felt like I woke up from the dream, so they did feel like a new day starting, but they were pretty short.

Anyway, now I've talked to people about this... I'm wondering if I was out of body except just not in the RTZ...

Any tips on getting from a lucid dream to an OBE without dreaming you're having an OBE?
#486
Yeah, basically there are certain "ideal conditions" for things to output a radio signal ; a radio really isn't a complex digital electronics device, it's just a couple coils and a circuit to amplify the signal and output to the speakers.

Once something catches the signal and vibrates, anything can act as a radio.
#487
So you got people killed and you're happy? lol!

But more seriously, congrats!
#488
The eye twitching is usually linked to losing your focus. As your eyes try to "get a grip" of something in the darkness of your eyelids, if you stare too hard you will get a reflex to open your eyes.

The best "cure" for this is to fool your body into thinking that you're falling asleep - make sure you get in a position that'll allow you to fall asleep, and drift away from your physical senses (stop staring in the dark, make the darkness disappear).

I know when I try to sleep on my back, this happens a lot, so I just roll over to the side in a fetal position and it stops.

I just had an amazing experience... A huge repetitive false awakening lucid dream...

Here's my dream log entry (Sorry in advance for the abundant use of the f-word)

QuoteWow wow wow

I had a lucid dream tonight.

It was the hugest dream I have ever had in my entire life, and it was crazy.

This post is separated in days but these all happened over the course of a 2 hour nap from 10PM to 12AM tonight.

DAY 1 of the dream

I hear my mom talking in the hallway, she woke me up. Just one thing: SHE LIVES IN NEW YORK, I DON'T! So I get up to check it out and she and my dad are on a surprise visit. So I hide all my cigarettes from them (I quit smoking a year ago but for some reason in my dreams I still smoke??). My mom smells the cigarettes and starts screaming at me. Damn it.

DAY 2

I wake up and to my surprise my mom isn't here... Whew. Just a dream! Not busted! I try to get up but my blanket is too heavy. I move my hands around and it just won't budge! Every time I lift it over myself there's more blanket! Then I look at my hand and it's fading in and out of sight, it's semi-transparent. So I realize I'm still in a dream...

DAY 3

I wake up and this time there's someone sitting on me. It's the spirit of a little boy. He's roughing me up and I fight him. I make him go away several times. Then he comes back and keeps moving me around but I can't move. I scream "bonk OFF ME DUDE LEAVE ME ALONE" and then he puts his mouth near my ear and says "Hey there's a little something I want to say to you *laugh* bonk YOU!!!" -- I'm still in a dream.

DAY 4

My mom wakes me up again with her voice. My mom and dad really are on a surprise visit. Damn. If I had known instead of falling asleep and having this weird repetitive dream, I would have hidden my cigarettes. Why are there cigarettes, damn it. She sees them and gets ticked off. She then tells me that they're here to fix up my apartment. For some reason there's another room in here I didn't know about and they want to move me to that room. So for about 30 minutes I help them. We cut stuff and put it on the walls, move the furniture, etc. At some point we realize that we cut off too much of the floor and now we're stuck in this room because it's dangerous to jump to the other side. So we run around and find this door with an alarm on it. It's a door that lets you get in to the neighbor's apartment. So my mom starts banging on it and I'm like "stop annoying the neighbor!" -- it was mildly amusing, still scary though.

DAY 5-8

God damn it stuck in my blanket again

DAY 9

I finally get up and run to see my sister to ask her if I'm still in a dream. At this point I'm quite shaken. To my surprise, she has a TOTALLY different haircut, like short hair and blonde! She's like "do you like my new haircut"? "JUST ANSWER ME, AM I IN A DREAM??????" I shake her and she won't answer... "Okay... I guess you don't need to answer that"

DAY 10

The kid is bonking with me again. "GET OFF ME DAMN IT"

DAY 11

I get out of my room and go see my sister again. This time she isn't here! So I open the door to the apartment and look around. Much to my surprise, there's construction everywhere in the hallway and my building now has 51 stories, overnight! They even raised our apartment to floor 11. Now what are the odds of that! I get into the new, huge elevator and someone else comes in. He says he's a detective and he asks me if I know about the recent crime across the street. So I tell him "sorry... I was asleep the whole time... I had a really weird dream!" "Oh, then you're pretty much useless to me!" He then proceeds to interview people on the street and I walk away. At this point I realize I'm probably still dreaming (about time!) and decide to see if I can make the best of it by flying. I jump and jump but it just won't work! I can jump really far and really high, but I just can't fly! A black guy sitting on a bench looks at me like "What the hell is this guy doing?"

DAY 12-15

== sexual dreams == ; I decide that the best way to find out if I'm dreaming is to go into some random girl's house and ask her if she'll have sex with me. Whether she says yes or no, I still win, ya know? Well, let's just say they never say no in dreams, and let's leave it at that.

DAY 16

This time, finally tired of all the amazingly hot secks (lol), I decide that the best way to see if I'm dreaming is to jump. If I can hit the ceiling with my head I'm definitely dreaming. Sure enough, my head never hits the ceiling. "Whew... Not in a dream" and then I look at my room and it's completely empty. There's nothing there. God damn it. Stupid dream won't end.

DAY 17

I decide that since I'm in full control it would be good to try and exit my body, to have an out of body experience. So I lay in bed calmly and wait for vibrations to come. My whole bed starts shaking and suddenly I'm standing in my room. I turn around to check if I left my body and I see myself sleeping in bed. So I walk towards my body and start touching it. That's when I notice it reacts to when I move it. So I push it around and bonk around with it (exactly in the same way as the kid did, by the way), until my physical body's joints are all bonked up and I just leave myself there on the corner of the bed... Then I decide to fly. Once again, it doesn't work. God damn it, stupid gravity. That's when I think "Hey, I should go meet grandpa!" I'm instantly teleported to a room where my grandpa is lying in bed and he starts talking to me in the usual way he did when he was still alive. Then it got weird... He started telling me about his casino (he never had a casino) and how I'm his heir. He says "so I need to teach you how to run the casino!" and we get teleported inside a casino where he proceeds to explain to me how all the machines work and how to watch for cheaters on the tables, etc. That's when I realize my grandfather turns into a detective dude from some 1930s movie... WEIRD.

DAY 18

I wake up and get stuck in the sheets again. This is where I get really freaked out... I swear the next thing I wanted to try was to kill myself.. It was unbearable!

And finally..... I woke up, and here I am... This has been both one of the scariest and most enjoyable experiences I've ever had, and I can't wait for it to happen again!

QuoteI've heard my name before while going to sleep, but this was quite loud, and to be honest, freaked me out. I should have just replied "WHAT!?"
When I was young, my great-grandmother always said that if you heard someone call your name and if you answered it and then found out no one did, it meant that you were going to die.  So I'm sort of conditioned to never answer, always check before replying.  Stupid, isn't it?

This actually happened to me all the time when I was little... I would be focused on something like playing and all of a sudden I'd hear my mom calling me... But when I went to see what she wanted, she was just reading or doing something else...

At the time I thought it was because I was so used to being interrupted by her that my fear of being interrupted caused me to hear her voice...

But who knows? It stopped happening as I grew up, and I never thought about it until now... Perhaps she was concerned about what I was up to, since she wasn't watching me, and her astral self was calling me?

That's a little far fetched though :p

Hey

Today, I took a small nap around 2PM, and started dreaming. I dreamt that I was in my childhood home, and that happens very often in dreams, so I realized I was dreaming, and suddenly the landscape changed, I was in my bedroom, here in my apartment.

All of a sudden, I started feeling vibrations. I clearly remember separating from my body several times in a row, it happened around 5 times...

The feeling of separation and the vibrations were the first time I had memory of the sense of touch in a dream, so I'm quite convinced that they were not just a dream.

In one of my 5 exits, I managed not to immediately snap back to my body, and I went towards the window and eventually got stuck there. It was weird, almost as if I was on both sides of the window at the same time.

After that, I lost my focus and went back to sleep.

My vision was rather foggy during the exits, but I clearly remember every detail of it...

In any case, this is pretty exciting -- even if I actually dreamt the "getting stuck in a window" episode, I am convinced the vibrations were real, and it was also my first lucid dream since I started making auto-suggestions about remembering my dreams and noticing discrepancies in them.

So, umm... Hooray?

Light is slow, though.... Takes 8 minutes to go from the Sun to the Earth! :p

There's no word limit -- don't stuff a book with useless words, and don't forget the important things you have to say.

Chapters do not have to have a special length, they just need to categorize your ideas, either chronologically or by subject...
#496
This could be what is referred to as "the atmic plane" -- the so-called "Nirvana," eternal bliss, highest level of spirituality and end of reincarnation :o
#497
Well, look at TVOS who has been projecting for years ; he said his longest was around 30 minutes, and that seems to be the case for a lot of APers -- rarely do they stay out for more than an hour, and that would be extremely rare...

As for number 4... That's the same as my number 3 :p
#498
Ultimately, you could channel the entity with a ouija board and get in contact with it.

The problem is, if you fail to convince it to calm down and leave the physical world, things could take a bad turn.

If you get out of your body and talk to it directly, though, you might have a better chance at explaining what they need to do -- tell them they have died and they must continue their spiritual journey rather than stay here.
#499
In my opinion this isn't possible on a physical level -- but I do believe that the astral body can receive this type of communication from other astral bodies...

We live in a world where everything around us vibrates, we're constantly bombarded with radio waves, lights, sound, etc...

If our brain wasn't shielded against this kind of interference, I'm pretty sure we would all be having constant muscle spasms and the like...

Our muscle movements are pretty much controlled by energetic impulses in the brain that propagate through the spine to stimulate muscles... It is possible to give an electrical shock to someone and their muscles will move... I don't know if you did this thing I did in biology class where you take a dead frog and put electricity through its leg and it activates their jump reflex...

I think controlling people would come in the form of affecting their emotions and intentions (through their astral self), rather than directly stimulating their brain..

I can't find an explanation for the red bars... I've never heard of anything like it...

Anyway... My advice is, if it happens again, ask "who's there?" ; try to get in contact with whatever is causing this, try to understand it, and ask it to become your friend or something. Basically, make allies out of your fears...
