You can search for "OBE verification experiment" in google, I guess you'd find good resources about that...

As for the board, there's the Astral Pulse Island construct, but I don't know if people are actually going there anymore...

The main problem about meeting in an OBE is how rare the conditions are.

1. You need to be able to astrally project
2. You need to be able to project at the same time as someone else (because OBEs only last for a few minutes)
3. Both people need to be experienced enough to see each other, and so they don't drift out of the "Real Time Zone"

The much simpler way to verify OBEs is to ask someone to guess something they could not know in the physical... The success rate is never 100%, but it's usually above average (guessing number combinations, cards, etc).

You can get headaches and other ailments if your chakras are imbalanced -- it's important when you build up your third eye and crown chakras to always build up the others as well.

I just had an idea...

Time "doesn't exist" in the astral, in other words, you let time pass by due to human perception, much like how sometimes you'll find you get stuck in objects or have trouble flying...

Have you tried to "stop time"? i.e. this would consist in changing your perception of time so that you perceive everything as extremely slow, hence if the call back is a physical thing, you would get a lot more out of body time.

About that, though... Since you want to be able to do things at "normal pace" while everything around you is slower... And vibrations are a factor of time... You might either end up in lower vibratory planes, or have to raise your vibration frequency so you can move faster in the same plane... Kind of like if you were "out of phase" with the plane you are in...

We need more scientific info about this stuff :p

CD quality is in the range of 500-ish I believe.  I personally rip things at 320.  I can't stand things below 192.

CDs use an uncompressed format, while MP3s cut out inaudible frequencies and add compression to that. 128 is "near-cd" quality for MP3s, but it can't be compared to the data rate on CDs since they are not the same format.

192 kbps is about as good as it gets... You need superhuman powers to notice anything past that :s

This happens to a lot of people, it seems.

I recently talked to someone who systematically projects in his childhood home's bedroom even though he hasn't been there for years.

There can be multiple reasons for not appearing directly in your bedroom when you project... It can be fear, trauma from your childhood, trauma from a past life, desire to be in the place in question, etc...

Perhaps you are being called there because there is something you need to do... Just ask "why do I keep coming here" and see if you get an answer.

Also, perhaps you're just experiencing astral blindness? Make sure you open your astral eyes, tell yourself things like "I want to see" or "clarity now!"

Sometimes it's caused by interference from your physical body... If you stay too close from it, you'll have trouble perceiving non-physical things, so just express the will to get away from your body a little.

I just found an article which was linked to at Jonas Ridgeway's forum:

http://www.spiritual.com.au/articles/psychics_mediums/opening-the-third-eye-rmueller1.htm

EDIT: To anyone reading this, be careful when experimenting with the third eye, it can be dangerous, so inform yourself before attempting.

It's pretty interesting, and it makes me wonder about experiences I've had as a kid...

I've always had a big fear of mirrors because whenever I was tired and stared into a mirror, I would see my face turn green and my eyes would become bright yellow dots.

A few days before my family moved to the US I had to sleep in front of a mirror we were bringing along... I had to turn it the other way because whenever I attempted to fall asleep, I would see myself shapeshift and that just gave me the chills. I had a terrible nightmare about a plane crash too :p

Tired eyes or third eyes? Good question :o
#507
From what I read, you see the aura with your third eye. When you look at something in an unfocused way, you become pretty much able to combine what you see with the third eye and your physical eyes.

The thing to keep in mind is that you cannot see auras at all with your physical eyes, you need to concentrate on your third eye.

I am inclined to think that practicing with your third eye (by doing remote viewing, etc) is the best way to train to see auras.

EDIT: oh yeah, and the colors of auras are not actually the colors you see

Robert Bruce wrote an article in which he lists the different colors:

Well, there -is- a weird cause of death called "spontaneous combustion" -- it was on X-Files but the idea came from actual police cases.

The people were found dead in their house with what looked like a sudden explosion from the inside of the body.

These people had something in common, they were for the most part old people living alone.

Reading about improper raising of the kundalini made me think of that phenomenon, actually :o

I tend to view this the other way -- Astral projection is akin to reverse engineering in my eyes. It was not given to us, quite on the contrary, it was hidden from us.

We were clearly put on this earth to live our lives "normally," and probably not to "wander out of the matrix."

Global enlightenment (i.e. everyone becomes in touch with their soul and becomes aware of the "reality") is often viewed as the end of the world, or the critical end of an era.

I'm wondering if we are "the first." -- when everyone becomes enlightened, do the powers that be decide that this cycle is over and create a new world from scratch?

The Matrix trilogy is very interesting in the sense that, while I'm pretty sure we're not being harvested by ultra-intelligent robots, those who sent us down here expect that there will be "the one" (Robert Monroe? lol) who will start a movement and change the plane we live on by making everyone realize "the truth"

And who knows? Maybe we're all just a computer program in a physical world where there is no life after death!

About times of day, there's something I noticed about my ability to visualize and fall asleep.

I think for most people, there's a cycle that repeats where every 3 hours you get a time window where it will be much easier to fall asleep compared to other times of the day. A sure sign that you are entering this cycle is that you start to feel a bit sleepy -- if you miss the window and try to go to sleep, it could take hours before you get in the right "cycle" again.

I hate to speculate all the time, but perhaps there is a similar cycle when out of body, and as soon as you feel called back, if you manage to resist it for a while, the cycle will pass and you will be able to stay out another 20-odd minutes without having to worry about it. The call-back could also be caused by physical "phase changes" -- i.e. transitions between different sleep states in the brain.

I'm curious about the "call back" phenomenon... As you know, when people fall asleep they usually unconsciously get out of their body -- how long do they stay out and if it's several hours long, do they sporadically get called back throughout their sleep?

I've never seen accounts of APers meeting sleeping people where the sleeping person would get called back, it's always the person having a conscious OBE that gets called back first!

Maybe your fear of being pulled back is what is causing you to be pulled back in the first place -- have you ever tried to ignore or "forget" about the "time limit?"

Have you tried "gathering energy" that would enable you to stay out longer?

Most authors seem to suggest that your first OBEs will be short and will progressively become longer as you have them, kind of like if an imaginary muscle was being slowly built up over time.

Perhaps you could search or ask for an astral "exercise machine" that will help you strengthen this "muscle" faster :)

Well, I received KR2 tonight as well... And I haven't felt anything special :(

While I'm a bit disappointed that I have yet to witness anything "tangible," I'm hoping that I will feel the attunements as the higher levels come.

Hi

In regards to that post I made, I finally "reopened" the door not too long ago. I was able to finally see some very vivid hypnogogic images and hear sounds.

The hardest part is to stay in that state now. I'm practicing to go deeper into trance, because so far, everything has lasted about 2 seconds before I opened my eyes out of surprise.

In case you're interested, here's the three things I saw:

First, I fell asleep and noticed a bright orange glow stick in front of me, and there was a man sitting at a desk talking to me -- I could hear his voice but not understand what he was saying, he was apparently explaining something important!

The second time, I re-enacted a "falling off a cliff" nightmare in my mind. I fell asleep while dreaming it, and as soon as I hit the ground, instead of waking up, the darkness in the back of my eyelids became a very vivid white and I saw a big red flower in the center -- it looked a lot like the flag of Japan :o

The third time, I opened my eyes (not my physical eyes) and saw a small fire on my desk. It looked as real as it gets, and even though I was determined to stay in the trance, I just didn't expect to see that, so I opened my eyes and woke up...

So right now I'm going to keep on walking the line between awake and asleep, and eventually try not to get startled with trance... I've experienced this only four or five times (there's one I'm not sure about) since I started trying to induce OBEs again, so I think it will take some more tries, but I am definitely very close!

Last semester I missed roughly two weeks of classes because my alarm clock stopped functioning correctly... If I set it for one minute after the current time, it would ring, but if I set it to ring in the morning, it just doesn't ring... I thought I was just waking up and going back to sleep, until I put the alarm clock at a different place in the room so I'd have to walk to turn it off -- and that's where I realized it just stopped working properly :P

Try doing the same :o

This reminds me of Robert Peterson's book:

from http://www.robertpeterson.org/chap02.html

QuoteAnother experience happened when I was a little older, perhaps 14 or 15. I used to have playful wrestling matches with two other boys.

One day we were talking about wrestling, and got on the subject of the world-famous wrestling hold called "the sleeper hold." The hold would knock an opponent out by cutting off blood circulation to the brain. Anyway, we all wondered what it would be like to be knocked out. FD was the strongest of the three and the third boy was afraid, so I agreed to let FD knock me out with a bear-hug.

We went outside and he gave me the strongest bear-hug I've ever experienced. I couldn't breathe and soon became unconscious. It was like waking from a dream; this world was a dream and I awoke to a reality more real and vivid than this world is. I saw the illusion of this existence on Earth dispelled! It faded away and I didn't regret it. Soon I found myself in the "real" world in a huge city that I already knew.

My memory seemed to return--Yes--I had gone to sleep and dreamed of a little place called "Earth" and now I was awake. "That was a silly dream" I thought, and I soon forgot all about "Earth." I continued my life, just like before I fell asleep. I lived in that fantastic city for years and years--centuries it seemed. I lived there so long that I COMPLETELY forgot all about Earth. For hundreds of years I had forgotten Earth. If someone was to ask me about it, I couldn't remember, since it happened so long ago.

Then one day I was walking to a store. Suddenly a confusing loss of direction hit me and I felt myself falling. Suddenly I opened my eyes only to see strange leaves, the sky and FD and the other boy looking at me! Where was I now? How did I get here? What happened? Then I remembered: Hundreds of years ago, I fell asleep and found myself here. This place was called "Earth" and was a part of a weird dream. I must have fallen asleep again. Slowly my Earthly memory returned. I asked the boys how long I had been unconscious. They said only a few minutes. They asked me what happened, and I told them I didn't want to talk about it.

As for its meaning... I don't know... It could be a fantasy of the mind or bits of experiences of someone else that got "directly downloaded into your brain.." Although I've never really heard of such a thing happening...

Try asking for an explanation in the astral, as well... Someone out there must know :)

Well, I don't know... I don't think Abraham is being provocative, rather strongly skeptic, which is easy to understand.

Anyway, about Bin Laden, he's real because his birth was documented by a birth certificate. Whether it's real or not is unfortunately impossible to verify, but even if he has nothing to do with any kind of terrorist activity, there was someone called Osama Bin Laden, born in 1955 in Saudi Arabia, the son of Muhammad Bin Laden. He has over 50 brothers and sisters... Sweet polygamy! :p

Anyway, about finding people/places in the astral -- I've seen the question being asked countless times... Some people claimed that they were able to visit places they had never seen with their own eyes before they astrally projected there, just by thinking of the place's name. Someone even claimed to have won the lottery by simply wishing to see the numbers while astrally projecting...

I just don't think "finding osama bin laden" would be such a difficult endeavor -- it probably takes not much more than the will to do so, and knowledge about the person and their life is only of relative importance...

Once again, this is all gathered from my readings and not actual experience ; finding Osama is however on my "list" of things to do when I become capable of leaving my body consciously, and I will be sure to revive this thread when I find him :p

I have followed many conspiracy theories and I do think there is a lot of shady stuff going on with the US government in regards to the 9/11 aftermath.

For this thread, however, there is no call to talk about the conspiracy theories, because we are not trying to prove or find out anything about government cover ups or justifications for wars, etc ; the man exists and is america's most wanted terrorist, period.

If you want to talk about conspiracy theories, it would probably be wise to open a different thread...
#521
Please don't turn this thread into

- Conspiracy theory talk

or

- A religious argument

... Because this was not meant as one.

Osama Bin Laden is a real person, or WAS. Whether he is dead or alive, it is possible to locate him with astral projection, or it will eventually be. It takes a lot of experience so not many people can do this. The people who can might not want to, because Astral projection isn't a toy to prove things to people on message boards, and especially not a tool to turn someone against their own religion.

:/
#522
Abraham, please read more about the ransom, and you'll see it's pretty much impossible to claim it without -solid- proof.

Also, I have reason to believe that "proving" that astral projection is real is not a good idea. It is actually pretty dangerous, and the world isn't ready.

In any case, perhaps you can arrange for a simpler verification experiment. If you post a challenge and someone feels like it and feels confident they can do it, they will accept your challenge.

This "shady" site seems to have the novadreamer for sale for 300 bucks:

http://www.espionage-store.com/secret/psi.html

This site has a similar product for 130 euros:

http://www.remdreamer.com/

This store sells "Standard LED goggles" for 35 bucks:

http://www.cerebrex.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=C&Product_Code=SLG

I'm not sure if they detect the REM phase or if they're even programmable...

Same thing with more expensive LEDs with fancy names (100 bucks):

http://www.cerebrex.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=C&Product_Code=PLG

Those seem to be tools to enhance your field of vision rather than dream goggles :s

All these things seem pretty expensive, what was the original price of the NovaDreamer, anyone know?

This is something that happens often when you realize you're asleep.

The trick is to make yourself walk the line between asleep and awake and eventually find a way to stay there, as Robert Peterson recommends (http://www.robertpeterson.org/obebook.html)

Here's part of something I posted at another message board:

QuoteI've managed to do this 3 times in a row tonight. I've had some light hallucinations on the way.

In the first hallucination I saw a bright orange glow stick. When I opened my eyes, it was still there, and it turns out it was light coming from under the door. I'm not sure if remote vision is forming or if my eyes were slightly open, but it was interesting.

The second time, I induced sleep by imagining one of those "falling down a cliff" nightmares. As soon as I hit the ground, I woke up and saw a big flash of light and my vision instantly became all white with a big red flower in the center. I think this was a hypnogogic image, and as usual, it disappeared as soon as I noticed it :(

The third time, I saw what looked like a small but tall fire right on my desk. It's only when I realized that moving shape was fire that I opened my eyes and saw that it was just light that had passed through the half-open door and projected on the wall, except it looked so real!

Anyway... I was going to ask for advice... How do you avoid getting surprised? If I'm too prepared, I never get to experience these images, but when I let myself drift, I always get caught off guard!

You mentioned "it happening without trying" -- this is exactly what you need to do! Just like expecting to fall asleep is the best way to stay awake, trying too hard to become conscious in your subconscious will prevent you from achieving your goal.

I have been practicing "falling half asleep" for a while now, and it's pretty tough to "forget but remember" what you were trying to do.

First, try Robert Peterson's exercise where you put your hand up while you're falling asleep and try to fall asleep that way -- when you fall asleep, your hand will fall or move slightly and wake you up. As you keep trying this, you will slowly gain the ability, like I have, to realize you've fallen asleep a few seconds after it happens.

The hardest part, unfortunately, is staying in a trance state... Like the experiences I quoted, every time I'm successful all the images and sounds disappear right when I notice them, and I have to start over!

Adding the two digits of a number together and substracting that from the number will always give you a multiple of 9 :)
