Hi Covelo

The sound is a bit muddy, would it be possible to have a slightly higher quality file (like 64 or 96kbps)?

If not, that's fine, I'm listening to it right now, it's just that it takes that little bit of an extra effort to understand what is said :)

Thanks for the sound file!

The site is very interesting, definitely lots of information and experiences to read!

The one big advice I have for you, however, is to make the contents of the word documents directly accessible on the site, rather than simply providing the files for download.

With that said, I have a big assignment due tomorrow that I just found out about, so I'll get to that first. I'll help you with spelling and such once I'm done.

This is something I've been experiencing when I had trouble sleeping... The feeling of something immeasurably big contrasting with something infinitely small, losing track of whether I am a very small thing in a huge universe, or just a big thing lying on my bed...

I'm not sure what these feelings are ; they are like feeling of disorientation...
#554
The invisibility technology uses projectors though, from what I could understand. It is much closer to the green screens they use in weather news than a light-bending trick :P

Hahaha wow... The guys on Survivor would probably love to have that ability... lol

This is the kind of stuff I need to see with my eyes to believe... It's just... too much!

Well, very often in dreams you'll see people that you instantly recognize even if you don't see their face or hear their voice... It seems you are experiencing the opposite!

The fact that you can't recognize them instantly seems unusual.

I don't know how you are in real life, but perhaps these people are people you have talked to in the past and wish you had gotten to know better.

Are you a shy person by nature? Perhaps the dream is showing you that you should not be afraid of meeting new people, or something to that effect.

Surely, there must be a message for you, hidden in that symbolism.

Speaking of 2012... Sorry for going a bit off topic...

I've been thinking about what would happen if someone proved to everyone that none of the current "mainstream" religions are accurate, and introduced the concepts we are familiar with from the recollections and studies of people who have experienced OBEs/NDEs...

Everyone would know about reincarnation, as well as this ability to go into the astral, etc... What is rather scary about this is that if everyone starts going to the other planes without ignoring the fact that these planes exist, the experiences gained as a result of coming to the physical world will not be as effective, or perhaps not as "interesting."

Somehow, the experience of physical life would be 'spoiled' -- would you like to start a new life only to have the soul come back to you?

What if the moment everyone is "enlightened" is the moment the powers that be decide to destroy the world, to recall all souls living in the physical plane, and start a new physical plane somewhere else (along with the infinity of other physical planes that supposedly exist).

While in the grand scheme of things this shouldn't be too scary -- or at least, about as scary as death -- perhaps we are spoiling this physical world. This has probably happened countless times with other physical planes, and well... "Ignorance is bliss" takes on a whole new and deeper meaning than ever before!

Just my infinity of cents..

What is happening to you is something you have the power to discover.

My opinion is just that you've dreamt of waking up. The tossing and turning in the dream could be related to feeling uncomfortable in your position.

If it keeps happening to you, just keep thinking about becoming lucid during one of these dreams, from there something great could happen -- noticing that the blanket was different was an excellent way to become aware during the dream, next time, try not to wake up and start looking around.

Congratulations, that was mildly amusing. Not.

Hey... So what are vibrations exactly?

I have felt intense swaying motions, sensation of falling very fast, always accompanied by an increased heart rate and "butterflies."

I've always dismissed those feelings as not being vibrations but just me getting excited for no reason :o

That's even scarier than a nuclear winter :o

So... How about that headline from next week? Would that be a possibility?

QuotePersonal experimentation is the most logical method for validation of these sensations, and researchers are largely reliant on the accumulation of data relating to personal accounts in seeking to identify the elements common to these experiences. For this reason, survey research has often been used in the study of the OOBE. One of the first recorded was conducted in the UK in 1890 by the British Society of Psychical Research.
More than 100 years later, in 1999, a sophisticated online survey analysing 98 different aspects of the OOBE was launched via the Internet by the International Academy of Consciousness [see NEXUS 6/05]. To date, over 7,000 Internet users have responded. The IAC researchers Wagner Alegretti and Nanci Trivellato acknowledge that the survey participants are not representative of the general population as they are all Internet users and most had some pre-existing interest in studies of the paranormal. Nevertheless, the results show that many different characteristics of the phenomena associated with the OOBE are shared by people around the world, irrespective of their age, gender, nationality, ethnicity, cultural background, religion, level of education or socio-economic status. This is a significant outcome that further confirms the value of pursuing such investigations. (This survey may be accessed at http://www.iacworld.org.)
The sensations mentioned previously are corroborated by the preliminary results of the IAC online survey, which reveal that, of the first 1,185 people who responded to this survey in 1999, 1,007 reported experiencing some of these sensations.
Other historical surveys of interest include a study conducted by Celia Elizabeth Green. In 1967, she asked 380 students at Oxford University if they had had any experiences in which they felt themselves to be outside their body. Thirty-four per cent of the students replied affirmatively.
In addition, much experimental research has been conducted by a number of scientists. In 1972, for example, Janet Lee Mitchell, a researcher at the American Society for Psychical Research in New York, USA, carried out a number of experiments aimed at furthering knowledge of vision whilst outside the body. The research subject was Ingo Swann, a known clairvoyant and surrealist painter. During the experiments, different target objects were hidden on a platform suspended 3.5 metres above the floor of the room. After "projecting" his vision, Swann described the objects he saw both verbally and with illustrations. An independent judge correctly matched eight of Swann's drawings with the eight target objects used in the experiment. Such satisfactory results were highly improbable and attest to the "travelling" nature of Swann's viewing.
The following year, Karlis Osis, a parapsychologist, sent an open invitation throughout the United States to all individuals capable of projecting at will, to project themselves out of body and into the premises of the American Society for Psychical Research in New York. One hundred people were selected from the large number that volunteered. Four target objects were placed at a predetermined location within the building. Although the experiment didn't achieve total success, 15 per cent of the participants produced clear evidence of having visited the office through extraphysical means.
In 1979, in partnership with Donna L. McCormick and again at the American Society for Psychical Research in New York, Karlis Osis tested the kinetic effects of the projected consciousness. The team developed a means of measuring the presence of the extraphysical body of the projector (Alexander Tanous, in this experiment) through a system of sensors placed inside a sealed chamber. In addition, the projector was to attempt to perceive figures that were randomly produced by a specially designed optical system inside the chamber. Of the 197 attempts made by Tanous, 114 hits and 83 misses were made during 20 sessions. Every time that Tanous was able to describe correctly the figure selected and shown, the sensors detected the presence of something inside the shielded chamber.
Currently, an experimental research project entitled Projective Field is being conducted by the aforementioned IAC researchers. The experiment is aimed at understanding the processes by which an individual captures information through the OOBE and remote viewing. The main purpose of the experiment is to investigate both the apprehension of the information via nonphysical means and the subsequent transfer of this information to the physical brain.
Five batteries of well-designed experiments have already been conducted in Spain, Portugal, the United States and the United Kingdom. External auditors and judges participated in all experiments to attest to the validity of the scientific methodology. Intriguing preliminary results presented at the Third International Congress of Projectiology and Conscientiology at the New York School of Medicine in 2002 showed that, of the 105 participants, 52 reported 93 instances of the OOBE. The results presented also suggested that shapes of objects, followed by colours, are most easily perceived when outside the body.

Since you are able to lucid dream easily... Perhaps you should attempt projecting and doing your own experiments... I know I will triple check everything I've read so far :P

If everyone could change everything the way they want it, chaos would reign.

If you believe you're the only person that "exists" and everything else around you has been created by you, perhaps you could come up with an answer yourself :)

Cherish the limitations, maximize your freedom.

Guys... This is a very common occurence, you'll sometimes dream that you found the secret of the universe or the answer to some mathematical dilemma in your dreams, and then you'll realize all of a sudden that you only remember finding it, receiving it, being told "it" -- but you don't have any idea what "it" is!

Well, very often, you haven't actually discovered the secret to the universe...

Take for instance when you meet someone in a dream, but you don't recall seeing their face, you just know who they are, or you remember that the sound of their voice was a certain way, yet you can't remember what the voice sounded like.

The dreaming state actually only occurs for a few seconds, as most of you may know -- it is not like watching a movie, it is more like saving your recollections of the movie into your brain's "hard disk" ; I am not sure if this applies to lucid dreaming, but I am pretty sure most things experienced are actually only slowed down because of how you perceive time in the physical plane, but in another plane, time is not an issue, everything happens atomically beyond our comprehension...

EDIT: "This is not... The greatest song in the world, no! This is just a tribute!"

I don't think time travel is really possible, at least not the kind we see in Back to the Future!

I have read about this "akashic records" plane which is a recollection of all the events in the world which you can visit ; some of the events in that plane are actually future events, but they are very often mere probabilities rather than actual happenings. -- Robert Bruce explains it much better than I ever could, scroll down or Ctrl+F to "Akashic Records" on this page: http://www.v-j-enterprises.com/rbruce2.html

I would think that Time Shifter was shown the way to this plane and found these future events which could in the end just be the convergence of fears of many, many people.

He could just happen to be telling the truth, but interpreted his experiences in a way that was too subjective.

-- of course, he could just be another forum troll :P

Well, I seem to have reached kind of a dead end...

I'm not sure how to describe it, but basically, all the things I've experienced that feel like I made progress towards inducing an OBE have happened only once. I can't seem to reproduce anything that happened.

The list of things in question:
- Seeing hypnogogic images when feeling sleepy (only learned that there was something special about them recently, and have been unable to see any ever since, even though I often witnessed them in the past!)
- Waking paralysis (happened when I was little)
- Feeling an intense back and forth swaying motion following a very short lucid dream
- Seeing a tunnel as an hypnogogic image and feeling like I was being sucked into it
- Waking up in the middle of the night from hearing a loud crash sound, and having a voice tell me to go back to sleep

For the past couple of days, I have been unable to achieve anything ; I could not even start any meaningful imagery in my mind, which was never a problem to me before... I just stare into darkness and nothing happens, as if I was just too focused on the physical...

Much like how fear is usually feared, and not the object of the fear itself... I think I am probably looking forward to witnessing these things happen again, instead of actually working towards them, and this is why I am unable to reproduce them.

What should I do to get in the right path again? I was thinking of just stopping any kind of practice for a while, but can it really help? How do I reopen the doors I've closed?

Pretty interesting... A fail-safe way of entering profound meditation by putting ping pong balls on your eyes...

Sounds silly, but someone should definitely test this :)

Ah yes, I see now!

Thanks for debunking this.

If the invention was really created, even 60 years after, why would the principles be different?

I still have yet to see definite proof that he is saying the truth from him, or definite proof that he is lying from others...

Hey

I've been experimenting in the past few days with becoming conscious as I fall asleep ; I feel I've made real progress.

Something that I find weird is that things have happened, but I only recalled them later on. The feeling is a bit like when someone wakes you up, talks to you, and you go back to sleep, then they ask you if you remember what you told them and you only recall the moment they've talked to you when they talk to you about it.

There's two things I experienced (during the practice sessions of the past few days) that I did not remember right away, that I remembered only a few hours later or the next day.

The first one was this vision I had of a colored tunnel that was trying to suck me in. I got startled and lost this vision, but somehow instantly forgot about it and recalled it hours later. I am pretty sure I was being sucked out of my body.

Another thing I felt was a crash sound. I don't know how to describe it. It wasn't anything like an explosion or a car crash... It was kind of like a rather quiet thunderbolt with "shrapnel" -- like metallic projections of some kind that made this glittery sound. Kind of like a broken window but with electricity, actually! When I remembered it hours later, I realized that it made me question myself, I asked myself what the sound was, and then I said something like "oh, it's just the crash sound, no problem!" and I went back to sleep!

I think this is the famous sound some people hear when entering OBE state, the same crash that accompanied the buzzing sound my mother told me about in her two involuntary OBEs...

I read from many sources that the key to remembering these experiences was to write them down as soon as you wake up -- I've been writing down my experiences as soon as I would wake up or decide to end a practice sessions, but I tend to go back later and 'complete' the entries with "oh, by the way, I saw this".

Recalling things with a delay has happened to me on several occasions in the past... For the most part, they were dreams or lucid dreams, but I remember waking up with sleeping paralysis when I was just a little kid, maybe 8 or 9 years old, and even though it scared me very much, I did not talk about it to my parents until I actually recalled it, days later...

I remember this lucid dream around the same age where a metallic object was stuck in my arm, and I realized I wasn't hurt or anything, that's what made me realize I was in a dream ; the same phenomenon happened, I had this "everything's normal, everything's in order" feeling and forgot about the experience until much later.

Does anyone have memory tips that would allow me to better recall these kinds of events? Is it common to forget things that are actually very startling?

All these things I recall later tend to be extremely important things that I am looking to achieve, yet they are the ones I forget most easily... Weird! Or maybe not so weird... Perhaps the fact that I get startled makes me close a hypothetical door to my subconscious... The ideal thing would perhaps be to stop being scared... Hopefully the fear or feeling of "unexpected-ness" will wither away as I get more similar experiences.

-- Something that I find good about asking questions here is that I tend to answer my own questions. Several times I've closed the window without pressing "submit" because I found the answer, or what I thought to be the answer, right here, in my post. I'd like to submit this anyway :)

I experienced a tunnel-like vision for a few seconds when doing experiments with the "triangle/third eye technique" and it did look a bit like this, but not quite...

From what I could gather, what people see in the 'back of their eyelids' is very different from person to person, I tend to see black, silver and blue with red blinking lights, but I've seen other people give very different descriptions, different colors, etc...

Shapes are also different, my tunnel looked more like fragments of "blue stuff" being sucked in a certain direction... More importantly, it was in 3 dimensions...

I do hope finding this tunnel had a significance, it was one of the first times I saw any kind of shape appear in what I think was my third eye, but it startled me more than anything, so I only saw it for a second or two and opened my eyes...

Has anyone seen "the tunnel?"

I was thinking about something today... About the way people perceive things differently on a case by case basis, about sounds, imagery and elements.

When I think about "inner peace," about things that have a tendency to calm me down, I think of the sound of running water, the refreshing sounds of the rain, waterfalls, etc.

In everyday life, I seem to find peace in not having anything to do, just being allowed to do anything I want without any contracts or obligations, kind of like running water that never wants to end up in the ocean, or stuck at a dam.

When I look around me, I see very different characters.

Some of them listen to heavy metal music, cut their arms and basically think only of escaping from 'this world.' They find peace in their self-torment.

Some of them find their comfort in physical things, such as money, working hard to make money ; they spend more time thinking about living a good life than actually living their life, their peace consists mainly in knowing that nothing can disrupt them for as long as they gather all their effort towards a goal.

Some of them believe that for as long as they do what they are told, nobody will bother them. When they do not do as they are told, bad things happen, or so they feel.

These are just examples of people I know, but no two people are alike.

What has a tendency to calm you down in terms of sound and imagery?
Where do you find peace in everyday life?

The Eloheim talked about the purpose of our life, about reincarnation.

What do they consider suicide as? Is there such a thing as a "sin?"

Is there anything we can do that might damage our soul permanently? (in other words, I noticed a lot about how our soul is growing -- can it ever regress or 'die' due to our actions in the physical world?)

I often think about life and wonder why everyone struggles to stay alive. These souls that are trying to expand their knowledge by sending us on earth and other places in the physical plane -- are they being tormented by their lack of knowledge? Have they thought about just shutting off and never having to worry about learning again?

Don't they already know that one day, we will reach a dead end, anyway... Why not cut it short?

Note: My life is great and I am not suicidal, I am merely detailing the big question "why exist when you could just not?" :)
