Welcome to Astral Chat! / Re: an analogy
May 06, 2011, 10:18:27
i don't understand your attempt at analogy (i totally understand your analogy, i just disagree).

mud puddle or ocean, it's all a part of our continuous reality.  the properties of that mud puddle are attributed by your human mind.  the mud puddle and ocean are no different, they are both manifest from the same otherworld.

you could have just said we're stagnant and dirty.

don't limit yourself to just night time practice.  for some that is the worst time to practice.  your muscle tension is at it's highest throughout the day when you're going to sleep at night which can make it difficult to relax, and your serotonin levels are at their lowest which could make it difficult to focus.

for me, the most successful time to practice is in the afternoon when i'm ready for a nap, around 2-4pm.

you're really close.

don't try to move your astral appendages.  if you are able to move your astral body it should happen very easily, just like moving the physical counterpart.  if you have to struggle, don't try to do it.  you may inadvertently wake yourself up and move your physical body which would ruin your trance.

you just need to keep going deeper, let go more.  don't be worried about falling asleep, it will happen.  it's a very tricky state of mind that you want to achieve, a state that exists on the borderland between worlds.  you have to be willing to go all the way down (to sleep) and catch yourself just before you lose consciousness.  this is necessary as a short cut (which AP/OBE training in the modern era is) to bypass a disciplined meditative practice.  obe, the way it is taught today, is basically a loop-hole.  you are tricking your mind and body into believing you're asleep.  this way you can go free about your explorations.  the more traditional way is through imagination type journeys that once practices daily and eventually is able to completely shut out physical stimuli.  people call this technique phasing nowadays.

Very interesting, indeed...

However, they're jumping to the initial conclusion that the decay rates are being "mutated".  Perhaps this is something natural.

In the end, I doubt our modern science will solve it... but, it's still "interesting".  :)

nobody said it's not natural.  mutation is just a word to describe a transformation, it doesn't imply something unnatural.

like stillwater, i'm not on the 2012 eschatology band wagon.  but this is still cool.

hello and welcome to the pulse.

beyond that, hi, i'm rusty.
#685
my fault.

i fed the trolls.

allow me...
*fans a digital sage smudging all over astral pulse with the butt feather of a bald eagle*

and just for good measure...
*makes it rain quartz crystals (you know, rain, like making it rain $1 bills at the strip club)*

all better.

i agree kurt, but i can say that when i eat raw foods, especially fruits, i feel more energetic than when i eat meat.  not in some metaphysical sense, i just have more energy, i'm more alert and ready to go.

but then again, i really like meat.

just keep focusing and continue your meditations.

there are no stopping points or transitions to new techniques that need to be achieved.  you have one course of action the whole time.  meditate and continue to focus inward, making your consciousness drift ever closer to sleep.  you almost want to let yourself fall asleep.  to me, when someone says "i got to this point, what do i do now?", it means that they are trying too hard, they are allowing their mind to stay too active.  if you have sufficiently focused your awareness, you should be in a very hazy state of mind where you're barely aware of anything, let alone what you should do next.  so if you are able to clearly think to yourself, "ok, what do i do next", then you probably aren't deep enough yet.

did anyone see the daily show last night?

jon stewart had an "Obama/Osama Jar" in which he dropped a quarter every time he said obama instead of osama.  it was full.

i hate to reference robert bruce because i disagree with many of his conclusions (especially relative to this), but this reminds me of how he says that our physical brain "downloads" the experience of the projection upon return to the body.  it sounds like you're not remembering any of it except for the brief moment when your astral body returns and the trip is "downloaded" but you're not really retaining it.  i would definitely keep a dream journal if you don't already.  but in this case i also echo xanth in that you should work on programming your subconscious to remember the projection side of your journey.

that's always an issue i have.  things definitely seem intense right now, but i wasn't around to see the social climate in the past.  for all i know, events in the past may have seemed much more intense than our time now.  like the great depression or WWI or WWII.  i mean, i bet people thought the world was coming to an end.  not to mention the countless revolutions and such around the world.  i just don't know that this moment is more important than the others.  i have nothing to compare my experience to.  though, i will admit, things seem to be changing in a way that i feel has happened in a long time.

Was that from Seinfeld?  I remember a standup routine Rosie O' Donnell did when she did standup, and it was hilarious.

it might have happened on seinfeld, but i was quoting zach galifianakis from one of his old stand up routines.  i think he did the joke on late world many years ago.

this thread would have been way cooler if the title was "Was Jesus A Gay?  That's Right, I said A Gay!"

lol.

*sigh*

well, that's it.  i'm done.  i tried to address the topic you posted, but you still just want to make this personal.

good day sir.

awesome.

i never really got into the noticing side of phasing very much (i practice phasing as shamanic journeying or pathworking these days which doesn't require noticing).  however, the few times i did do the noticing bit, i always focused through my third eye and just stared straight ahead.  if i paid attention to any of the irregularities it would often make me think of my eyes and wake them up.
#699
i saw it before you retracted it CFT.
lol.

d3nd3,
i agree, i too dislike labels and definitions.  unfortunately the rest of the world seems to enjoy them.
