Hello YoungSpirit,

Regarding pets - I very much agree with Gandalf. If there is a bond of love, then why shouldn't they come back?

Our family dog came back about a year after he passed on.At the time I was half asleep and was aware of something moving at the foot of my bed. At first I thought was hallucinating, but I became aware of his form and sensed his warmth at my feet. Since then I have had experience of contact with animals from time to time. This included an opportunity while practicing a blindfold reading during a group experiment. Although I thought being aware of someone's pet was daft at the time, I was surprised to be able to describe the type of dog, aspects of his personality and other specific evidence for his survival (as an individual personality) to the beloved human companion. It made sense to the sitter! I am quite confident that they can come back. I for one trust in that!

Warm wishes,

Hi DigitalMoon,

Nice to see that you had a good SP experience and thanks for relating it! It is good to see other people's perspectives.

Here is another spin. From personal experience of a frightening sleep paralysis episode some 20 odd yrs ago, and from the comfort of learning other possibilities from reading AD and later having opportunity of talking to Robert Bruce  -  could it be that your green visitor was your own projected double (mine was more like moving object or point of light). This may seem to fit considering that the image faded before you regained use of your body. It is also interesting that your cat was not alarmed by the presence. Is it possible that your cat may have recognised a familiar energy, hence the avid attention. Without the sleep paralysis and your cat's behavior I might have thought it to have been one of the other suggestions, although less likely the Guardian of the Threshold. Alternatively it may have been a spirit helper. The green aura is intriguing! As well as your feeling at the time, it would be interesting to know if you can remember if it had any particular shades and intensity. From my experience of working clairvoyantly (be it with human or with spirit) it is always a pleasure to be able to have opportunity to practice aura reading and enjoy having interactive communication using colour as a medium. Is this something that you have been developing since this experience?

Cheers,

Hi Kenshi,

Neat reply, although I would be interested to know why you think "Life it self is my guru :)" ???

Could it not be said that life is not in fact the teacher, but rather a vehicle or schooling ground for the training of the spirit towards self realization! Is it worth considering that in fact the true teacher might therefore be your self? Hence GURU!

Moving slightly off track, yet perhaps along a similar and intertwining path, is part of little exercise I for one had found useful at times.

The peace troubadour and author James Twyman alleges that it had been handed from time immemorial to a group once known as the 'Church of John' or the 'Community of the Beloved Disciple'. He alludes that it had been rediscovered from a lost Gnostic teaching and is part of what he describes as The Secret of the Beloved Disciple. It might also be considered that this might only be a shard of knowledge/Gnosis that roots in all ancient traditions. Whichever way I hope you enjoy it!

A nutshell summary (although it is only my current spin on this) of this particular process (call it self programming or perhaps deprogramming if you wish), would be to place yourself in total and absolute surrender to God (divine principle, all that is and is not, Architect of the universe, higher self). Next in sequence would be to apply the same to Trust and finally to Gratitude. Finally having already immersed oneself in those three states, but not necessarily thinking about them on a conscious level, one proceeds through the following process or initiation (I am sure you get the idea): -

"To See as God Sees. To Feel As God Feels. To Know What God Knows. The Beloved Sees Only the Beloved."

You could substitute the use of 'I' rather than 'To' and if practiced with a partner one could use 'You'.

Yet again perhaps this brings us back to where one started again. Hence GURU (Ugh)! Or In others words is it possibel that this exercise might bring one to the realisation that 'you are God and therefore are already enlightened'. If you can believe that, that is !

Forgive my feeble and amateur attempt at philosophy[;)]

Enjoy and have a fun Easter break,

S[:o)]

Only but a humble student.

Hi,

Trance Mediumship is a fascinating and very interesting subject. I have a modicum of experience with both trance for spoken communication and for trance healing. There are various good sources on the web, try http://www.fst.org/trance.htm for a nutshell explanation. If you want to go a little deeper and explore for instance other trance states like physical Mediumship see: http://www.noahsarksoc.co.uk/

The work of Jane Roberts is a good example of a truly gifted trance medium without the trappings of spiritualist ideology. There are more esoteric levels of trance out there, but that should give you a bit of food for thought!

Hope this helps,

Thank you for the information that was posted.  But I guess I didn't state my questions clearly.

I have been on the Reiki path.  I was attuned (levels I and II) in Reiki-Seichim.  My teacher was a Westernern and a clairvoyant.  She spoke to me specifically about my healing guides and I have, on many occasions, felt my healing guides and I've met with them in dreams.  She also spoke about general Reiki guides, high level guides that work with the Reiki energy and help Reiki practitioners.

Also, the way I was taught to perform Reiki was by drawing the healing energy down through my Crown chakra, through my main channel and out my hands.  Or rather, I was taught to let the energy flow this way.  And the attunement, as I understand it--I'm not a Reiki master--does make changes to the Crown and hand chakras.

So what I'm curious about the relation of performing Reiki and
channeling (I mean, trancemedium channeling).  As a developing clairvoyant myself, I haven't seen all the energybody channels with clarity.  But I understand that the "channeling"  channels are connected to the Crown chakra.

I am actually concerned about maintaining my spiritual seniority when I perform healing, and though I have appreciated the help of my guides, I don't wish them to plug into me without my being aware of it.  Sometimes my experience of Reiki has been very ungrounding.  It is a high vibration and I suspect that the vibration (in the room, in my aura) is hiked by the presence of guides that I may not be sensing.

I'm not worried of being taken advantage of in any way, but the type of focus on my path right now is on grounding, coming into the body, validating the lower vibration of the body and being okay with it.  Reiki, in my experience, tends to be a higher spectrum energy--so I'm looking to amend my agreement with it, or find a way to practice it that doesn't have the "floaty" effect.

That's it in a nutshell.  I would appreciate any insight you all have to offer.

Hi all,

Thought it time to introduce myself and wish you all well. I am one of those slack people who has been lurking the site since off an on for about 5 odd years now, but have put a few posts in of late. You certainly have built a great place here and wonderful rapport with each other. I for one have not consciously projected for some time as I had been working on other aspects of development, but was lucky enough to attend the Buckland Hall workshop last year!

I have been quite a number of semi-lucid dreams of late with only some minor control, but had remembered what I thought just to be a silly one within the last week or so.

I found myself at a beach bar which had a big Astral Pulse sign. There seemed to be other people there. They all looked like they were well pleased to be there (a few grins had)! Can't remember much more than that sorry to say! So on awaking I had let the memory go, because I had thought that perhaps I was overdoing my interest in the AP site generally. Let me know if am on the wrong track on this one or not? Either way it's a good lesson to learn from. Perhaps catch you there sometime (if I can remember that is).

Wishing you all well the project!

Cheers for now,

Stephen

Hi Sofiewulven,

You have picked some choice places in the UK already. Glastonbury is 40mins drive from Bristol, full of tourists in the summer but has a very powerful energy. The 2nd hand book shops are great although the new age stores are very expensive. Make a point if you can to visit Chalice Well, The Abbey and The Tor. Bath, Wells Cathedral and Wooky Hole are worth a look see. Avebury and Stonehenge are little further afield!

Western and North Scotland are stunning. However if you have opportunity and time take the Seacat catamaran over to Northern Ireland and get yourself up to the Antrim Coast, you will not be disappointed. See: www.discovernorthernireland.com

For other ideas also see Martin Grey's www.sacredsites.com or even better take time to browse Julian Cope's mammoth site: www.themodernantiquarian.com

Enjoy your trip,

Hi Qwerty,

I had a not wildly dissimilar experience some 15 yrs ago or so which really quite frightened me at the time. On reflection, it had a positive outcome, whether or not I personally had an influence. That is another question altogether. I¡¦d rather like to believe that a higher power had a hand!

You do not have to believe this little story, but I hope that it is of some help to you. Allow me to relate it as best I can, and allow you to seek your own conclusions.

In my case it was awaking quite shocked on awaking from a very lucid and seemingly shocking dream. In the dream I saw a young girl of about 5 to 7 years of age. What disturbed me was the intense feeling of desperate emotion she was pouring out.
I appeared to move closer to her and observed that her face was badly disfigured. In fact it was really quite horrific. I am from a culture (N Ireland) where daily horror was something we as a people had, including myself become somewhat sensitized to (sad as that is to say). Yet the power of shear pain and anguish was like nothing I had experienced before in or out of body! It took some months before the image of this little creature faded from my memory, and as I write I can visualize her in this very moment.

Moving forward in time (I can't remember how long) I found myself working in a motor driver training. I received a call from a prospective new student, a lady, who lived in rough sectarian area of North Belfast. Normally I would not have taken her on board as it was on the far side of the City from where I lived, but I felt compelled to book her in for lessons anyway. Eventually the day arrived when I would take her out for her first lesson.

On arriving at the door I rung the bell and was greeted by an attractive lady in her mid thirties. But my attention was caught by a small crying voice. I turned to look and noticed that a young child was on the other side of the inner porch door. I was unable to see her features at the time, but felt the emotional tie she had with her mum and the sense of separation that comes when a parent and child (as normally interdependent as they are) have on a daily basis. Usually this is forgotten by both parties shortly thereafter and amends made as a matter of fact family experience.

Over time, I got to know the lady reasonably well and found out from her that her daughter had a very rare cancer, a flesh wasting condition which had taken away almost one side of her once beautiful young face. It was then that the penny dropped and I realized this was in fact the child in my dream had some time before.

I felt truly powerless and almost ashamed of my good fortune in life and health! What could I do? My mind ran wild ¡K That evening I chose to pray for her daughter (and I was far divorced from any form of spirituality at the time). To be honest I think I must have prayed myself sick, and like never before in my life. I asked for help for this beloved child like nobodies business. That is what I tried to do anyway (for the sake of actual material action). Although, somehow I found it difficult if not distasteful to let her mum pay for driving lessons ever again. Well I actually accepted a some payment (just to please her sense of pride), but tried my utmost to confuse and somehow always daid that she had already paid for the lessons and may have forgotten what her credit left for lessons was. Belfast women are rightly proud!

Some time later, after the lady had completed her course of lessons I was truly pleased when on the local BBC TV channel documented her daughter's story on the news. I was to learn that funds had been raised somehow which enabled a top specialist from the States to come over to Belfast and carry out ground breaking reconstructive surgery on her face.

Over time I lost touch with the family, but in quiet moments I think that perhaps divine fortune was able to bless them after all!

The rest is up to you my friend... and I hope this little story is of some help (forgive the sentimentality)ļ

Trust that your dream girl (or real) will find relief from the cruelty of such a despicable man. Do send her positive and protective thoughts, yet expect nothing for yourself. It is easy to feel helpless especially when you see someone weaker suffer. Peaceful intervention always has opportunity to come around. Physical action is another matter and best left to the powers that be! No doubt others may have a more indiscreet opinion, but that is their free choice to have.

In light,

Hi,

Interesting question... I am also trying to get a handle on the Hermetic concepts within IIH. I more used to oriental modalities with the like of prana, Qi, Chi, Ki etc.

Here is one which might sow something of a comparison, although I would also very much welcome a more plain English summary on Ahasha?

One explanation found: -

http://beaskund.helloyou.ws/netnews/bk/soul/soul1028.html

Vivekananda, who did so much to reveal the soul of India to the West, says:
"According to the philosophers of India, the whole universe is composed of two materials, one of which they call Akasha. It is the omnipresent all penetrating existence. Everything that has form, everything that is the result of the compounds, is evolved out of this Akasha. It is the Akasha that becomes the air, that becomes the liquids, that becomes the solids; it is the Akasha that becomes the sun, the earth, the moon, the stars, the comets; it is the Akasha that becomes the body, the animal body, the planets, every form that we see, everything that can be sensed, everything that exists. It itself cannot be perceived; it is so subtle that [97] it is beyond all ordinary perception; it can only be seen when it has become gross, has taken form. At the beginning of creation there is only this Akasha; at the end of the cycle the solids, the liquids, and the gases all melt into the Akasha again, and the next creation similarly proceeds out of this Akasha.
By what power is this Akasha manufactured into this universe? By the power of Prana. Just as Akasha is the infinite omnipresent material of this universe, so is this Prana the infinite omnipresent manifesting power of this universe. At the beginning and at the end of a cycle everything becomes Akasha, and all the forces that are in the universe resolve back into the Prana; in the next cycle, out of this Prana, is evolved everything that we call energy, everything that we call force. It is the Prana that is manifesting as motion; it is the Prana that is manifesting as gravitation, as magnetism. It is the Prana that is manifesting as the actions of the body, as the nerve currents, as thought force. From thought, down to the lowest physical force, everything is but the manifestation of Prana. The sumtotal of all force in the universe, mental or physical when resolved back to its original state, is called Prana...

Bundles of practical insight within (pardon the pun), but since its been a couple of years since I read Robert Bruce's article 'Training To See Auras'. It can easily be found via the Training link.

See: http://www.astralpulse.com/guides/auras/auras.htm

A fascinating subject and always worthy of discussion! Why not post your question as a new topic and see what response you get!

I would also agree that there is no need to perform divination as a prerequisite before healing someone.

It may well be that in and around the time of healing a physical illness may not appear to respond. This does not mean to say that the healing given, has not, and is not continuing to have a positive effect on the patient, whether this is be on an emotional, spiritual or physical level.

It is often said that the patient will have accepted the healing perhaps subconsciously even though they may appear to have rejected it at face value.

From my humble and limited experience with face to face healing - I have never seen anyone refuse an offer of healing or help. Although we all know people who appear to be suffering and in need refuse offers of healing, or even simple loving human contact like an embrace or holding of a hand (which is very healing).

It may not be appropriate to carry out hands on healing with some people as this may not be good behavior, and certainly you should ask for permission to give them healing. If any physical contact is involved you must ask the patients permission first and agree with them as to what they are comfortable with in the first place. In other words apply common sense and adhere at least to a moral code if not professional level of conduct as a healer. In addition and this is slightly off subject: the healer or sensitive may become aware of physical or other problems with their patient. This is often the case with the highly developed intuitive healers. He or she really should not offer diagnosis for good reason therefore as this has moral and legal implications. This is certainly the case in the UK and I assume so elsewhere.

It is appreciated that if you have a personal relationship with the person in need, then it may be difficult to act with detached compassion and may have your own feelings to take into account. But then it is often said 'heal the healer within'... which can be a hard bullet to bite. Take some time out to work on yourself and be resolved in building your spiritual power, emotional and physical resilience as best you can when you have time.

With distance healing one could ask for permission to offer healing. If you so wished you could send thought up to the patient or their spirit first as a gesture of respect. On the other hand it is probably worth considering that you are acting as the channel and putting yourself in a position of trust that healing will be sent... which is invariably the case. So whether you ask for permission or not may well be in some way irrelevant!

With respect to Tarot and spirit contact: tarot use does not imply spirit contact. However the tarot reader may have mediumistic ability. I respect that this is another nest of worms and probably worthy of separate debate...

Hope my little reply helps,

Stephen

Dear SmileySpirit,

Hope you do not mind but I have followed a few of your threads this evening... with sincere a deepest respect and please do not take offense, but you seem to be over cooking the biscuits as it were... It is all too easy when opening up to greater awareness to be almost overwhelmed by every perceived experience... if you are not already doing so is good practice to keep a journal and to refer to past perceptions and use judicious reflection of your development. When not specifically working developing and honing your skills it is best to close down and ground or just enjoy everyday life. One good way of enabling this is to make a clear affirmation or send a thought out that you are not to be disturbed unless you choose to carry out your exercises etc. In other words you make it quite clear that you are in control... this will help to make you feel more balanced and help to build your power and confidence. Sometimes it does not quite always work this way, but on the whole you will find it really beneficial.

I for one do not claim to any sort of expert, but have found early in my development that being wide open all the time can be (to put it mildly) somewhat disorientating and very draining. It is very easy to over interpret ones perceptions: whether it be dreams, Obes, spirit communication, psychic impressions or clairvoyance such as aura observation etc. All of these thing take time to interpret correctly.

When starting and closing your practice make a point of some opening and closing prayers (there are plenty of good ones on this site). During every day life it is also good practice not to be tuning into all and sundry... although I am sure you respect other peoples space... Observing auras can be very, very interesting. But again as the aura changes constantly... a one off observation does not by necessity provide an absolute gauge for interpretation. A good awareness exercise if you can find a buddy to work with is to sense each other aura either clairvoyantly or clairsentiently (by feeling), also you do not need to see the aura to be aware of colours associated with it. For instance you could perceive what the colour is with your partner and simply be aware of it in your minds eye. This is the way in which many psychics and mediums engage in their practice colour readings. It is a good idea to develop a set of meanings for and  agree in your minds eye (or with helpers or guides) what the meaning of a specific colour or hue and tone is for yourself. For instance pink might mean that a person is loving, or looking deeper it might indicate vitality as it contains red for instance. I appreciate that this is a rather simplistic example. There is a vast amount of literature on this subject and it is worth taking time to develop and constantly revise your own set of meanings or symbols. This will enable you to become confident in your perception and interpretations. In the mean time treat it as practice and do avoid coming to scary conclusions etc.

You really must get some hands on training with a respectable teacher or organisation (if you are not already doing so), and do try to go for a personal recommendation. This does not mean that you have to stick with any one particular line of training however.

Alternatively, If you can get to one of Mr Bruce's forthcoming workshops... then you will not go far wrong... I had opportunity to attend his UK course... which was a real privilege.

All the best,

Stephen

Hi SmileySpirit14,

Interesting little thread... Healing is a wonderful gift. It can be difficult telling family and friend about ones expanding awareness and connection with things spiritual. When the time is right they will appreciate how important this is for you... it was something I chose a number of years ago and lived to survive it.

I respect that your family's belief systems may now seem outmoded to you now... in time they will know intuitively that you have outgrown the shoes you had appeared to be set in place for you. It is joyful to see someone so excited about their wonderful potential... good luck on your path.

Also don't worry too much about the path you appear to feel drawn to. Many people come to healing via meditation or energy work and think that's it that the one for them, you will find that a range of wonderful gifts may well appear and drift tantalizingly before your eyes. Approach what intuitively what feels best for you! It may be that spirit communication or healing or a completly new deeply spiritual path may follow, but which ever way it will be right for you.

With respect to sensing whether or not you can feel the flow of healing energy at the point of your hands or feel heat when applying healing with another. It is really a matter of trusting that the healing will be given. Your intent to offer yourself as an instrument for healing is the real key. I am sure that is the case for you! This often begs the question 'has the healing had a positive and beneficial effect for the recipient'. The healing has been given and will provide a true and good benefit. A very gentle word of caution: wherever possible do not become overly attached on a personal level to the outcome of healing given. Again trust that it has done even if it may appears that the desired result is not forthcoming. Giving too much of yourself can on occasion be very draining for the healer... therefore try not to use just your own energy... it is good practice to attune with whatever divine source seems most appropriate to you, be is Reiki, healing love, mother earth, guided assistance etc. No doubt you already do this anyway.

If you have an opportunity try to join a respectable healing group or circle. Avoid courses which give you a worthless certificate after spending 100's or 1,000's of hard earned cash for packed out and often short workshops. I assume you are in the States... in addition to the splendid work to be found on Astral Pulse some interesting sites worth looking at include: -

First Spiritual Temple http://www.fst.org/welcome.htm
A little bit too Christian for my temperament, but you should find some of the articles inspiring).

Also see: http://www.zitaglio.com/bettyshine/
A site dedicated to a wonderful British healer now sadly passed).

Alternatively a good UK site to visit: http://www.harryedwards.org.uk/
Site about the one of the most respected healers of the 20th century.

Good books on healing include: Any of Barbara Ann Brennan's work (although her courses are very expensive), but the books are worth every little penny, and a good basic primer worth a shot is 'Your Healing Power' by Jack Angelo.

I sincerely hope that this is of some help to you.

Welcome to the Healing place! / I can't feel
March 30, 2004, 07:38:22
Dear Ronin,

One should never apologise for asking for help and being so brave in sharing ones intimate experience.

You are not alone - I too (like many) have had experience of many of the issues you are talking about. It would be crass of me to compare my experience with yours, but I want you to be sure that you are not alone in coming to terms with and living happily with the challenges you have had to face however difficult.

I have had close contact with a number of people who had attempted suicide including one of the family had been severely depressed for a considerable time and had numerous suicide attempts. I am pleased to say that individual's life turned round and she regained the place of joy and lovingness that was always there from the start. I can only but gloss how she was able to come through the needle, but suffice it to say once she chose to seek help that it when the turning point was made. It can still take what seems like a mountain of work thereafter, but we can all get there!

This is clearly something you have now met and although it may still seem to be a long and steep path to traverse be assured that you have all the potential within to regain your self esteem, confidence, strength and most of all self-love.

It is always a wonder how synchronicity kicks in when we least expect it. The right people do fall into our paths... I for one have had deja-vu experiences from childhood. It is all too easy to perhaps read too much into them and over interpret their significance. Perhaps it is just a matter of accepting that they are indicators that you are on your chosen path. Although some schools of thought decree that our life path is pre-determined it is better to come from the thinking that we choose our own destiny. I sincerely appreciate that it may appear that we are simply victims or that how could 'I' choose a life like this! Many 'new agers' would say that we have chosen to experience incarnation at this time of movement from one age to the next. It does not rally matter what any school of thought or religion says... it is how you perceive yourself and not how other dictate or impose upon you. You can choose how you feel, how you react to life's journey.

I personally know what it is like to feel alone and totally separate from what I perceived to be the feeling of being loved either internally or from an external source having hit rock bottom some 5-6 years ago. Like your good self I hit that point of despair where I felt completely distraught and trapped in an empty void. The trigger strangely for myself was simply a friend saying to me that 'you are feeling sorry for yourself'.  They were hard words to swallow but I was able to take them on board and view things from the others perspective. Subsequently it made me feel truly guilty. But the guilt was a tool which enabled me to open my heart to others. To feel compassion, to realize the other from the perspective of as you would want them to feel for you. I found myself in a ball of tears praying to god not for myself but for certain individuals and ALL the hurt souls of the world. Believe me It was as if a was drawn into a torrent of love. When I say that no words ever spoken by man could ever do it justice! Subsequently over time my mind tried to identify what the source of this love was... thinking it to be god, or angels or higher self, of spirit guides. The answer is very simple... it is YOU (rself). You are the one who is the source of love and have always been so. It does not mean that this experience of bliss has to live in your conscious awareness in every breathing moment, but you know it is there. DO trust completely that you are in the fact also this expression of love and creative positive force of being.

By the way there is nothing wrong with crying... big boys can cry... it is very a healing expression. So don't be afraid anymore or ever again... the healing is there for you if you want it. All the happiness is yours to enjoy and share with loved ones, but most importantly within yourself... It is your birthright. GO out and meet like minded people, avoid those who might attempt to bring you down. Share the wonder of life regardless of its tragedy and love others as you would want to be loved yourself.

My many blessings be with you always and forever,

Kind wishes,

Stephen

P.S. Don't worry about all the arcane stuff or Akashic records (they are there), just know that god does hear your prayers.
