Hello Nick.

You have already been through more stuff then what I hope most of us will endure in three lifetimes to experience. Don't give up on trying to have an OOBE. Like Lion said, read the articles regarding sleep paralysis and work through that first. Really understand the natural process and this will help alleviate some of your fear and anxiety.

The rest is just a matter of trust and allowing it to happen.

Good luck and thank you for all you have done.

If giving, sharing and helping others makes me selfish.

Well, then call me selfish!  :-D

It's not going to change!

I'm with you on that. Two months ago, this stuff bothered me but now I don't care. If doing good is selfish then call me selfish. I'm perfectly fine with that.
#728
Did you look up the price equation yet? It proves mathematically that every act of kindness is an act of selfishness. You can stop wondering. It has already been pondered and proven as much.

The real question is why is this true and not is it true.

Ignoring the spam is no problem but it sucks when the server is overwhelmed. Adrian will do what's best, I'm sure. Is he having a problem on his other forum as well?

Hello Elias. You expressed yourself just fine and Szaxx completely understands you.

It's nice to see the youth taking an interest in philosophy. Look up the price equation and you'll get your answer. You're essentially saying that everything we do boils down to serving a selfish purpose but you're making a lot of assumptions. Why do you think it would be odd for a father to want his child to succeed without consideration or thought to his own happiness? Even if you were correct, what exactly is wrong with that?

If I feel good for helping out people who desperately need my help, where in that do you find fault. Are you suggesting that this would be a better world if we felt bad for helping others?

When we do good, we feel good. And guess what? We want to do more good. Where is the motivation to do good if we don't feel good in return? Do you see what I'm doing? I'm in a circular argument just as you were.

Again, it is refreshing to see the youth ponder something other than X-BOX. I bet your parents are proud of you and you should feel good about that. I'm sure they do.

That's what I call an OOBE, however brief. You have saturated your mind with the idea of projecting so your consciousness went to work for you as soon as you got out of your own way. Don't over analyze every little thing. In fact, don't analyze anything. Just take note of it and move on.

2fly said a lot of wise things. Just get together with like minded folks and try and learn from each other instead of taking on a teacher role like 2fly suggested. I think you might find that it's not so easy getting one interested person local to you much less enough to form a class.

Without the personal experience to rely on, teaching will be a tough gig and you may even lose confidence. Your on the right track now so I don't really see a need for a drastic change of any sort.

Since you have many lucid dreams, why don't you project from them? This will triple your confidence and belief and make phasing much easier. I think your looking too hard for a quick fix while the answer is right under your nose.

Good luck.

"The Techniques of Astral Combat" is a important book. Providing a unique look into the culture and tradition of the Astral Warrior, this book reveals this tradition's metaphysical understanding of the universe, one's role within it, and a powerful means of self-discovery. Important to our times, as it reveals the hidden influences of the astral planes upon our lives and our society, "The Techniques of Astral Combat" provides the reader with new tools, skills, and an understanding that empowers one to confront evil with new-found strength.

Have mercy. This is the synopsis of his book.

Sure, Go ahead and try as many times you want to in a day. Just don't give to frustrated and give up for good.

Here's the deal concerning the sensations. You may not feel any of them at all. They may seem to be very intense at times as well. No matter the case, you can still project. The sensations are actually caused by your body falling asleep and SP is kicking in. They are closely associated with projecting because the goal is for your body to fall asleep while your mind stays awake. We all go through the process every night. It's just that our minds are usually asleep as well so we aren't aware of the feelings.

So don't worry if they aren't intense or you think you're having a heart attack. Nothing is wrong.

I get a little jealous of the uninitiated sometimes, believe it or not. That's because your first intended OOBE  is usually a positive life changing event and that feeling and realization doesn't happen every day. It probably feels like winning the lottery only the odds of winning this game are in your favor. Knowing this, could you imagine yourself ever giving up?

I don't necessarily believe that there are different realms or levels of the astral but it sure seems like it at times.

Some of my experiences are completely painted by my "wants" and expectations and other times, there seems to be very little that is influenced by the same. Regardless of how this all works, we will only see what we are open to seeing. Plain and simple.

If I'm completely closed off to something existing, I won't experience it but if I am open to the possibility of something existing, then I just might see it whether i consciously want to or not. When we are ready, we will each see our own truth's. What does that mean? Exactly what it says.

There are somethings that are facts objectively despite what we believe while there are other things that may only be true for you because you personally want to believe it. Both are personal truths.

Welcome Goldrim. Be sure and take advantage of older posts as well as the many great stickies. All your concerns have surely been addressed but don't worry. I'm here to give you some vague advice tailored for you specifically. :-D

The short answer is yes. You are very close to projecting and are definitely on the right track. But that's the case even if you weren't trying to project intentionally. That's how easy this is.

You listed a few things that are distracting you. The most important thing here is that you are able to get comfortable and relax. So if something is bothering you to the point that you can't tune it out then go ahead and do what you think is best.

I almost always cover up when I try to project. That's because I get cold easily and not because it helps me to feel safe and secure. Is there any specific fear you have about astral projection? Whatever they are, I can guarantee you that they are silly fears. I know this because there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO FEAR.

If you start to feel some of the common sensations, then "go with the flow". They are all natural and nothing is wrong. Be sure and read one of the stickies that Beedeekin wrote concerning sleep paralysis. They are excellent and he covered all the bases in detail.

Don't give up and be that guy or girl who stopped one try short of success. If it takes you ten years, it will be worth it. Hopefully you will stick around and teach us something as well.

Good luck and keep exploring. :-) :-)

Forums Bugs Reports and Questions / Timing out
March 27, 2013, 23:01:58
For the past week or so, my connection to the Pulse has been crappy. Sometimes I can't get on it and other times my connection lasts a few minutes. When I reply to a post I get the "sorry but the connection timed out" response or something like that and I end up having to rewrite is usually because it can be an hour or so before I can get back on.

I'm not having any problems with any other websites so I was wondering if it's on my end or has anyone else had this prob too.

QuoteThe sad thing is I feel like I don't know who I can share this with without sounding a bit crazy - outside of this forum (or one like it). That sounds very self concious... but it's honestly how I feel sadly.

Most of us feel the same way and I know I certainly do. This forum is all I need as far as venting goes but it's a shame that we can't spread the goodness to our friends and family without sounding loony to them. And once they think you're a nut job not much will change their minds. Oh well, it's their loss.

Hi Chad and Welcome.

It sounds like you had an incredible introduction in to the non physical reality. Belief isn't a requirement to have an OOBE but it is required to learn and grow from them. For now, don't over analyze anything and be ready and open to have some more experiences.

I haven't yet seen anything exactly how you described but the emotions you felt are very common, not only for a first time but for any exceptional projection. Personally, I hope I never lose that sense of awe and wonderment.

Meeshatech- OOBE are amazing but they're nothing compared to the feeling you get when you apply the lessons learned in this physical reality. I know exactly what you mean by putting life on the back burner but we can't do that very long. Life awaits and you have a lot of it to do. :-)

ive been trying everynight since i fist made this post and have not got there yet, i dont even feel the vibrations anymore just feel numb and is this due to trying to often should i forgett about for a while it and do it less often twice i have woken up at say 4am and attemptged but leaves me feeling numb and like im progressing untill say an hour passes and i find ive fallen asleep agian

Don't get frustrated. It can take years for some people while others have reported success on their first attempt. Besides, you have to pass the time somehow from when you lay down until you fall asleep so there's no harm in not giving up. It took me about a month or a little longer. I think the average seems to be about two months or so.

Have you tried lucid dreaming as a way of projecting? Many people have their first success this way and they find it easier to phase. It works like that because their belief is strengthened. Have you caught on to this whole theme of believing yet? It works wonders.

It can't hurt to take a break from actively trying to project. Just don't lose you goal. You know...come to think of it, many people have had success after they took a break and stopped actively trying to phase.

Don't worry about all the physical sensations that people associate with projecting. You can feel them all or feel none of them and still project. You may even feel different combinations each time. The only importance anything has to projecting is the importance you give it.

Good luck and keep exploring.

I can relate to much of what you are experiencing only I don't view it so much as energy.

Many things become apparent to us once we start our journey into the NPR. Once we realize that we are  not our physical bodies, we open the door to different states of consciousness. These different states can be utilized for psychic healing, remote viewing, enhanced intuition, reading auras, increased sensitivity to "spirits", and much more.

I have had many experiences with a few of these different states but I am not able to control them as of yet. I think I'm still in awe of it all. Thinking back, I realized that I have had the experiences since I first started projecting but I have only recently accepted this as fact.

It's just my opinion but I think the people who can psychically heal others have a predisposition to it. We may all be capable of it in some form but aren't as easily inclined. Like everything else, this comes down to belief I'm sure.

You personally have come a long way since your first post. I know I have.
#743
Being able to intentionally have OOBE is not like riding a bike. You will lose it if you don't use it. The good news is that all it takes is some work and dedication to get it all back. Or so I've been told. I can't imagine ever stopping purposely. I go through periods where I do it less often but I always "return" when I feel like I need to.

Just last month, it was so important to me to have OOBE where I am fully aware from start to finish and now I'd rather just let my dreams take their narrative course. I don't always seem to have a say in this and get "pulled out" for one reason or another.

Look back and see what changes have taken place in your life. Do you have a different mindset? Perhaps you've become a bit more doubtful. Whatever the reason, it can be overcome. Good luck.
#744
Meditating without the intent to project is a great way to get past your thoughts interrupting the times that you do want to project. But when your first learning, it's important to purposely question if it's time or else you risk falling asleep. This is why some people use an anchor to pull them back out of their mini-dreams or snippets. Getting the timing right takes...are you ready for this, time. :-D

Eventually, you might just notice that when you ask yourself "is it time to project", the answer will come in the form of a realization. You're already "there".

Or you may get an actual reply like "Project where?" from another traveler.
#745
It's ironic to me that the idea of meeting "God" is very appealing to me when I'm focused on the physical reality. During OOBE, however, it never seems important because it's like I am already "there" with "God". I've had many fascinating conversations with "others" in the NPR concerning this and yet, it still never leads to me wanting to have the kind of experience you just described. I think a part of me is content with what I know to be true for me personally and I want to wait for the right time so that I can really experience it if you know what I mean.

But I suppose that any time is the right time. Your experience sounds incredible but I'm sure you failed miserably in describing it.

Oh man...reading this is giving me an itch to try it myself but I usually let my "higher self" decide the focus or aim of my OOBE but sometimes, I'm just thrown into a situation and have to take it from there.

Again, great story. Have you tried this since?

Hello Olispuika. That's a very interesting name.

Welcome to the Pulse. Hopefully you'll take advantage of all the great posts and stick around to make some of your own.

Is there a God?

I have no doubt that the answer is yes but I haven't a clue on how to define the concept. I'm certain that no religion has it right and most aren't even close. Who or what "God" is doesn't matter in my opinion. All that matters is that we strive to better ourselves so that we can help others. Living this way is surely doing right by "God".

The idea of worshiping anything seems absurd to me now. Doing so, makes you feel guilty when you make mistakes and don't live up to the image of your idol. It leads to all sorts of ridiculousness. People will use their concept to do just about anything and it makes the followers vulnerable to manipulations in the worst way.

I will stop before this turns into a rant but I want to add one last thing. By asking this question, I take it that this is very important to you. Just listen to what we say but please make up your own mind. You are starting a journey that will answer many of the questions you have better than any of us can. It's far more satisfying that way instead of being told. Learning how to separate your consciousness from your physical body is only the beginning and it only gets better.

Good luck with your life's journey. Choose what feels best to you and you'll be fine.

Of course I'm reading the posts and I was replying specifically to your response in regards to Lion stating what he has been told in the NPR, namely to not tell others and to just observe.

To say " I don't know, I was just following orders", does not cut the mustard in military tribunals covering war crimes but it's perfectly acceptable and understandable when someone is shown subjective truths in the NPR. Again, to understand this reasoning, one needs to have their own experiences.

I must have completely misread your words, so I apologize if I have. Twice now, two members have reported that they have been told in the NPR not to speak of certain experiences. Both times you responded how that doesn't cut it and that everything should be reported. I mistakenly took that to mean that you were interested in their subjective experiences. Silly me. :? :-)

Welcome B.

Yup, it sux to know you're a good person yet everyone around you thinks your loony or possessed or influenced by evil.

Such crap but forgive them. Your support team is here.
#749
QuoteOne thing I do not want to have to answer to is why I kept my mouth shut...and I don't think an answer such as 'I was told to just observe' will cut the mustard.

The most likely reply to such would be 'who told you?' and to say 'Oh I don't know, I only know that I was shown what they could prevent me doing, so I assumed they were an authority over me' would be pretty lame to say the least.

Who do you think we might have to answer to?

I do not like to go into much detail concerning many of my experiences. This is only because they are intimately personal and can provide no more data than what someone can see and learn for themselves.

Contrary, to what you might believe, no one here is guarding any secrets of the astral, we are all guarding personal truths. And I do mean all.

You are in danger of trapping yourself into a belief of their being secret keepers of the astral. There may or may not be, I don't know. But I can guarantee, that there will be secrets withheld from you when the times comes because you already believe it so. Just be careful about that.
