Congratulations, Lysear!  :-)

I really wish I could hurry up and get out of my body. I's so annoying how the astral and spiritual worlds are so near, yet so far.

Thanks for your input, everyone. I used to think that vibrations were absolutely necessary.
#78
I thought projektr meant it stopped permanently (until somebody gets it going again.)

Quote from: Awakened_Mind on December 09, 2006, 19:47:26It baffles me why in times such as death, one would stare at his watch.

Maybe it's something they notice afterwards?

When practicing, do you have to wait until you get vibrations before moving on to a technique to exit your body? Or can you move on to a technique before you get vibrations, but hope to get from from using the technique?

(I hope I've worded this properly.)

Thanks James, that's very helpful. I think I'll try to talk to him/her next time I feel the presence.

I hope things go well!  :-)

Thanks, Hagethuriel.  :-)

A_M, I've heard that before, about spirit guides not coming to help unless it's an emergency. Does that mean they won't come to help me leave my body if I ask for them?

Quote from: Goober on December 05, 2006, 23:50:48Did the atmosphere in your room change before the tap on your curtain?

I don't think it did. Everything seemed to stay the same, except for something touching the curtain. But 'Nay could be right; it might have been something other than a spirit. I guess I can never really know for sure.

You'd be able to create a flashlight for yourself in the astral world, wouldn't you, Steel Hawk? People say whatever you want to have, you create it, and it should apear instantaneously.

I dont think you want australian music blasting into your ear when your trying to focus mate :-o :-D

I didn't necessarily mean music.  :-) I think it'd be good to have an entity around who'd help, though. Maybe the Steve-man himself could come and yank me out of my body! Oh, that would be great. He could leap on me like he does when he's rescuing a crocodile, grab my astral body, and pull me straight out!

People have reported hearing noises while attempting to project before. It's never happened to me, but it's supposed to be quite normal.

I'd say you're on the right track, but I'm not hugely experienced, so you may like the viewpoint of others.

That's really cool, A_M, thanks for sharing it with us.  :-) Your little sister sounds very sweet.

Jonas Ridgeway's site (http://www.jonasridgeway.com) has a long list of books about astral projection. I've asked for some for Christmas, and I got them from looking at Jonas's website.

I've asked for The Projection of the Astral Body by Sylvan Muldoon and Hereward Carrington, Journeys Out of the Body by Robert Monroe, and Astral Dynamics by Robert Bruce.

I almost wish there were entities around when I'm attempting to project. I was practicing last night, and asked for help, but I don't think any came.

Welcome, David, this is very interesting.  :-) I'm really impressed that you're practicing for four hours a day. I usually only practice for about half an hour. I should probably make it a bit longer, but I always seem to be busy doing other things.

You seem really focused, and that's a good thing.  :-)

Quote from: Buster0 on December 02, 2006, 10:16:11although annoying sounds were coming into my mind like some australian guy saying "fancy a jingle mate?"

Hey, maybe it was Steve Irwin! :-) I'd love to meet him in the astral.

You may have got out the first time. I'm not sure if you did or not. If you actually did feel yourself hitting it, then I'd say it's likely you got out.

I'm really glad that people here are encouraging people to have fun with any psychic abilities they may have, or are trying to get, because that's really what I want to do with mine, should I ever achieve them.

For instance, with astral projection - if I ever manage to do it, I really want to use it to:

A: Meet some dead people I admire

B: Meet fictional people and go on adventures with them.

C: Travel, and basically have fun.

I know there's loads of work you can do - spiritual work - and I think it's great that people can do that. I really admire them for using astral projection to better themselves, spiritually. And sometimes I feel a bit ashamed that all I want to do is have a lot of fun in the astral world, but at this point in time, I don't really feel like doing much work. I'd just like to have a good time.

However, that's not to say I won't try out any work in the astral. It would probably be very good for me, and it would probably be very interesting to do. I do think I'd like to have fun most of the time, but I'd give spiritual work/enlightenment a go as well.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Re: Karma rating?

If everyone behaves in a nice, friendly manner, then surely nobody would need to smite anybody?

Welcome kie101.  :-) I'm from the UK too.

I wish you the greatest success in your projection efforts!  :-)

There are a lot of people who feel afraid, Steel Hawk.  :-)

Anyway, you could just try telling yourself that there is nothing in the astral that can harm you, and that you're going to have fun and going to have an adventure. Hopefully, that will replace fear with excitement. (Although too much excitement can hinder you.)

Welcome to Dreams! / Re: Healing power of sleep?
December 01, 2006, 12:37:22
I'd like to think that in higher dimensions, people can rest, even if they don't need to. I like the idea of, after I'm dead, snuggling up in a nice bed.

Thanks for all the great advice, guys.  :-) I think I need to spend a bit more time practicing, as well. I spent about twenty minutes last night, which I don't think is really long enough. Since it's Saturday tomorrow, and I don't need to be up early, I hope to spend some more time practicing tonight.

Welcome to Dreams! / Re: Easy way to lucid dream
November 29, 2006, 18:24:59
That seems a useful thing to try.  :-)

I've also had someone tell me that a way to lucid dream is to tell yourself, mentally, before you go to sleep, that you are going to have a lucid dream. Does that work?

I'm sticking with practicing lying on my back for now. The time varies slightly - I practice when I go to bed, but the time I go to bed can vary by an hour or two - but it's generally the same time.

I really want to achieve this. Can my desire to do it hinder me, though? I've heard people say that it's best not to be too impatient.
