This sounds like the real McCoy to me. There is really not much difference between the two IMO. From the length of this thread, it seems like you've been struggling for a while. And when you finally surrendered, it happens!!

LionHeart would be proud.

Congrats. Prepare yourself. Usually knowing that you can actually achieve one, makes it sooooo much easier.
It becomes the difference from believing to just knowing.

FWB, Someone said that any focus away from the here and now, is to focus away from the physical. It is helpful to view it like that. There are just so many different states of consciousness, that it's hard not to just simplify it into PR and NPR. Since surely the different states would fit comfortably in one or the other.

I used to view A.I. as a distant potential threat. We can do send brain signals at the speed of light but then it gets bogged down by the speed of chemical composition. A.I. would not have the chemical disadvantage. Nor would it have to be exposed to the same scenario repeatedly to understand if something is a benefit or a disadvantage.

The rate at which A.I. could think would be scary. What if they just view us as we do bugs and squash us. I doubt they would see any benefit in morality. Perhaps they would eliminate O2 to slow their decomp. Crazy stuff.

But there is a difference between intelligence and consciousness. To become self-aware, it would probably take consciousness and I don't see that happening through technology.

William, do you really need a list of how technology and advancement of the sciences can be harmful? Keep in mind, I'm not saying it should be feared. Just understood.

Hello, Taylor. We are always close to APing. During your experience, you were just a little closer than normal. The sounds and sensations are a good indication of that. Eye and Facial twitches used to be the last little hurdle I had to get past in order to phase.

Fear is natural when we explore the unknown. Please do your self a favor and don't read any crap that talks about bad spirits following you and such. "Ain't gonna happen, homeboy.", like I've been told concerning other aspects of living.

This type of info is everywhere on the web and there is a convenient button next to the message that will link you to a store that sells candles and incense to ward off these negative entities.

Welcome and read the many great threads that already exist. They are a gold mine. Use the search button for specific phrases because most threads evolve into different animals than intended and you never know where the gold is sometimes.

LOG, I honestly do believe there is something about what we put into our bodies and how it affects our dreams and recall.

What we eat affects every other aspect of our physical lives so why would this be any different?

However, I am currently experiencing some mind blowing personal experiences and the only thing that has changed is my mindset. When I get a grip on that, I would be happy to give this a try.

Right now, I have to leave things as they are so I can objectively see what is going on. As much as that is subjectively possible, anyhow. :-)

I get the meditation suggestion. You mean become a better person through meditation or just in general? In that case, how does that help with astral projection?

Being a better person won't necessarily help you to meditate. It will allow you to reap the benefits faster. One feeds the other, in my limited opinion.

QuoteAny fear associated with this can be sourced in religion (the bible – 666 etc) and in lack of knowing for sure who you are – or otherwise having an incomplete or false or misinformed understanding of your true nature and identity.

To say that all people who don't embrace technology, avoid it because of fear is akin to saying that all who do are fat and lazy. It is generalizing at it's zenith.

Tech, is good so long as it serves a purpose of eventual good. It may not be evident for decades to come though and in the meantime, it may be harming millions.

Naturally, William will want some examples and I have them aplenty.

thx so much for sharing your story.

actually something similar like this happened to me today. there's this person who doesn't have any class in common with me but their quietness/loneliness makes me want to approach them. but as a quiet person myself, I couldn't bring myself to stand in front of them and befriend them. I always wish I'm more of an open-minded person.

but then today, there was a lecture that every student needed to attend and there she was, sitting alone, a teacher told me to sit beside her and till the end of the lecture, we never said a single word. I thought there was an invisible boundary between 2 quiet people. I see this kind of situation or coincidence as a spiritual message, that the spirit knows I wanted to befriend this person and I finally got a chance but I didn't make use of it.

after the lecture, I told myself I should move on since she is a senior and I'm a sophomore and maybe after I move up to study in college, I will renew myself and become more outgoing.

Dude!!! You just back slapped fate and said you had a better plan. Your teacher pulled a classic Drew Barrymore. Watch "Donnie Darko", it's a must see, so get it over with now and be cooler than everyone else in your school. I need to tell you a joke.

A river is rising and is rapidly flooding a town. Most of the town leaves right away to get ahead of the danger. A faithful man stays knowing that God will save him. As the river rises, it is no longer safe on ground so he climbs on his roof. A man comes along on a boat and offers him a ride.

No, thanks, he says. God will save me.

The river rises more and is almost up to his roof but luckily a sheriff's patrol boat comes along. Get on, they tell him. No, he replies. God will save me.

A few hours later, the river is above his roof and is threatening his life. A coast guard helicopter comes along and throws him a rope to winch him up. He refuses, knowing that God will save him.

An hour later the man dies and finds himself in heaven. He is a little upset with God and asks him why he didn't save a faithful man such as himself.

God replies, I sent you two boats and a helicopter. What else did you expect from me?
-------------------------------------

Maybe. Just maybe someone was listening to all your prayers and understood your heart. But you still have to meet them half way.

This senior girl sounds perfect. If she rejects you, she'll be gone in half a year and you won't have to be reminded of it. If it works out, she will still go on to tear your heart out  but don't worry about it. It's an experience we all need to grow. I'm such an optimist. :-D

QuoteI've been telling people for a while now, in my real life

FWB, What do you tell people in your fake life? If it has half the insight you show here, it must be incredible.

QuoteA more complete picture of what I am saying can really only happen as it becomes apparent that you are getting a handle on what I am saying already and at present you are still largely engaged in making commentary on me, or my method of approach.

You are right about the commenting on the messenger and not the message but this is a break through post from you William. I think we can move on with more understanding.

I tried to meet up the other night with a member here but I was no where close. I think it is to specific a goal for my "skill set", so to speak. As I have said, I have only very recently accepted much of what I have come to understand.

I recently had an experience and now I am confused as to whether it was a remote viewing in real time, an OOBE in which I "traveled" there, or if it was a prophetic "dream". I'm not even sure why I am labeling the experience other than for a confirmation of sorts. The experience has been confirmed but only through a little trickery on my part. I didn't want to freak the person out.

QuoteBut never without the reality check. Call me paranoid!

This is a testament to the reality of the NPR and why it's just crazy to deny it's objectiveness IMO.

Same reason we all are. To try to understand conciousness consciously.

That makes so much sense. I'm glad you put it like that.
#889
QuoteWhy are you here, if consciousness already knows everything about everything?

I don't believe that consciousness knows everything about everything and that is why we are here. I thought you believed this quote. That is why I am questioning your statements about consciousness exploring what I thought you believed it already knew. Existing in a physical body with both internal and external limitations will at the very least, give a free form consciousness a new way at looking at itself.

I'm not sure if you ever said this outright but you follow-up most of my responses with consciousness already knows this and that and the other.

I am not suggesting that it is not expanding out. I am questioning whether or not your model accurately explains why it is in accordance with my own experiences. You would do well to never underestimate someone's intelligence or overestimate your own.

Your approach, as you say, is to give us one piece of the puzzle and then *sigh* when it makes no sense to us alone. This is why I asked earlier for a more complete picture of your theory.

I viewed LionHeart locking your thread because of the bickering and not the discussion. None of the moderators here filter the info but only the tone used. They have to keep the peace in the interest of the forum. They all encourage open minds.

False awakenings are serious traps for our minds. It is after one that I can really set myself up for a scare. Like LionHeart, I am always peeved with myself for being frightened but when you really believe nap time is over and you see a monster in the room...ahhh...It's funny after but in the moment,it is a different story.

I keep my posts set up to warn me that another post had been made while I was typing. Let's just say that I would have felt like a horse's rear if i had made my post before reading what Lion had to say. :-D

Sorry to be so literal Will, but the definition of conjecture is to basically guess off of little to no objective evidence.

But I am not following you on why consciousness as a whole needs to expand and explore it's own creation. I'm sure artists need to stop and admire their work and take note of how they accomplished their work but they don't need to explore it since it comes from them. It is an extension of themselves in a way and they know inside and out.

You need to KNOW you can do it. It's that simple.
Any thoughts to the contrary and they win over.
Intend to feel something on the other side then put your hand through.

That sounds like advice Bruce Lee would give. "Don't punch your opponent. Punch through them."

My problem is when I have a specific task or goal to accomplish. It becomes so physically real that I limit myself to normal physics. I am getting better at remember to do some different stuff though thanks to everyone here.

Anyway... we are going so off thread we are sowing a completely different garment.
False Flags!! Thank you Volgerle, I could not think of that term.

I forgot the poor Tuskegee Airmen.

I can only imagine poor William when he sees what we have done to his thread. I don't want to be around when that happens. :-D

All things considered and apart from the Watergate scandal... what actual BIG lie has ever been found out?

I really don't put much thought into conspiracies but I will call them as I see them.

Well, I guess this comes down to what we choose to believe as truth. Again, truth can't be pushed on anyone. Since you mentioned Watergate, You have set a very high standard since Nixon did the unbelievable and actually admitted guilt. A rarity even when caught red handed.

But for me, it's more about the little things that just keep adding up. We can't wait around for admissions since we don't need someone to admit to the lie to know they lied. Without much details, since they are mostly well known, I will give examples that are relevant to me in no particular order.

Galileo having to recant his belief in how the planets revolve around the sun.

All things alien but Roswell in particular.

The Gulf of Tonkin.

Columbus discovering America. Why is is still being taught today?

Ask any Native American if they have been lied to by a government

The Iran-contra deal and Reagan's prior knowledge of.

Reefer Madness-Govt. sponsored movie to demonize cannabis

JFK assassination. Give me a break, that the gov tells us what they know

All things Obama and the fast and Furious crap

Obama

It took years for the gov to admit prior warning of Pearl Harbor being attacked

and of course, how smurfette can be the only female smurf yet not be the mother of all the rest.

I left some obvious stuff out since I am not convinced one way or another like 9-11 and such.

Einstein called it spooky action at a distance . It is said that all the atoms are connected from the big bang .          Do you think it has any thing to do with a.p.?    desert rat

To me, it explains why we aren't actually leaving our bodies while phasing. We are connected to everything so there is no where to go. This connection is due to a brief entanglement and so one can no longer be understood without considering the other. There is no hope for me to flesh this idea out any further than that or else it will sound even more like the newer String theory.

QuoteOne major difference between SP with HHEs and dreams is the relatively high rate of reporting fear during the former.

Everyone needs to understand this difference. There is probably nothing we can do in the moment to prevent fear from gripping us initially but it doesn't have to last for more than a few seconds if you understand what's happening. Because SP isn't a dream per se, we are gaining our full awareness while in a dream state but our physical senses are lagging and slowly catching up. That is different from an OOBE or a dream to me.

#898
I understand the process but it still gets you every once in a while. The worst ones are always the funniest ones in hindsight.

I feel for the people who have these experiences but do not believe the science behind them. They put too much trust in a belief system and end up being let down. IMO.

I just don't see consciousness creating a physical world so we can create cool stuff. That seems pointless to me from an evolutionary standpoint. Physical existence is on only temporary even if it goes on for billions of more years and just repeats.

There are at least two things that all the great people who have tried to change humanity as a whole, have in common. They worked on changing themselves for the better and they failed at changing anyone else. Simple as that. I'm not saying they didn't make a great difference in the lives of many people but everyone they helped in the long run had to first change themselves. We can inspire people but we can't change them.

Conspiracy theories are not from fear but from realization. We have been lied to time and time again. I don't put any concern in any theory because I can barely maintain the illusion of control in my own little world. I'm not gonna bang my head against the wall of changing mankind for the better. It's not even possible. We will never all agree on what better is. Your grand society may be someone else's version of hell on earth.

We are all free to believe what we want. I see the same things happening over and over again and no motivation in most people to change. The easier tech makes our lives, the easier we want it to get. Who said this was supposed to be about easy meals and such?

Sorry Will. I know you want to keep us all on track but you can't change us.

Many people have had their first OOBE during times that they were sick. It may just be because they are spending more time resting and when they are awake, they day dream about feeling better and doing the things that they are missing out on. But this is like crack for an OOBE. This shifts your focus away from the physical body and present time. This sounds like the perfect setup to me.

People may be more open to just going with it since they can blame it on their illness if they are uncomfortable with the idea of having an OOBE. Who knows why but I have read many accounts that point to being sick as a catalyst.
