I don't know how old you are but I imagine you are young. Telling someone that you have feelings for them is a hard thing to do in the beginning, or so I've been told. I'll be honest, since I was a little kid, I told every girl that I ever crushed on that I loved them. Love was the wrong word but I did not know what else to say at such a young age. It paid off countless times, though. I am no Casanova and the furthest thing from a heart throb. I am just me which is all any of us can be.

Have you ever seen a couple and wondered how that guy could get a girl like that? I'm that guy.

I am a helpless fool for the opposite sex but when it comes to real love, I know that I have missed out but it's not because I wussed out on an opportunity. It's because I had my priorities drastically confused.

I recommend that you hurry up and tell this girl how you feel. Rejection stings a lot but it gets easier and easier and unfortunately, it gets even easier. And who knows?

This is one of the fears that you absolutely have to face down and deal with. Good luck with all your endeavors.

I know it annoys you to get off topic but would you please explain your mirror of the Earth. I never understood what your avatar was until I saw it in the member's art thread.

It is amazing to say the least and completely fascinating to look at. I am not asking from a critical stance, I just want to know what inspired you to may such a beautiful piece that appears to be so much more than just art.

Thanks,

A fan.

It sounds like you have made some positive changes in your life. This may be a jump start to something great. Keep up the good work for the poor saps like me.

I am remaining committed to science for now. In the interests of mankind, I will sacrifice my health and stay on the twenty first century diet. No need to thank me for my sacrifice, it is my honor.  I can't just turn my back on the animal protein that has fueled our brain growth. :-D

QuoteI am simply pointing out the facts as they surface.

You do understand that we are trying to discuss a theory, right? Even though I'm on board with a lot of what we are discussing, this is all conjecture.

I usually hear voices and footsteps. On occasion, I'll hear musical notes as if coming from a piano or electric keyboard.

I think it's a 50-50 mix of bodily function/and "other".

Thanks Beedeekin. Since this is my most often experienced problem with SP, I appreciated the attention on the auditory.

But while I was reading it, I realize that I often think my cat is walking on my bed. I feel her jumping on it but I always know when it's not her because she has a predictable pattern...Pounce twice on the bed and then my head. If the head pounce doesn't come, I know it's the ghost kitty.

"Shape shifters" have always lived amongst us, when they shift into human form they become unaware of there true forms, it is like a safety valve, until certain times when they all become aware.

There are always small groups of these "shifters" that are always aware, these maintain the illusion we all live in.

Full awakening comes around in cycles, the last full awakening i know of happened about 8yrs ago, but when they awake, the world fulls into a slumber.

I have long been aware of these entities, the unaware ones are very hard to detect, But they do seem to lack the basics we humans learnt "growing up".
The aware ones give of a strange odour that seems to proceed them.

But they are easy to detect in groups even when they are "unaware" of their true forms.

I have a few "shifters" friends myself, plus a few within the family, but at the moment they are unaware of themselves, which i prefere. :-)
From what i can gather, the numbers at this moment are fairly even between us.

Many in this forum will be "shifters" but will be unaware.

QuoteThe contradiction is that you want the 'destination' explained by skipping the 'journey' to 'get to the point' and then show your disapproval/frustration by your impetuous responses.

The problem is that I'm not sure we are on a journey. But I'll hang in there until you finally convince me otherwise.

Auditory hallucinations are the hardest for me to ignore but I'm expecting the visuals and I don't really have tactile hallucinations other than the smothering in SP. I'm so reliant on my vision that I want to open my eyes and see what the heck is making all that racket.

As I get closer to phasing, the noises become much clearer and start to think of them as coming from the astral. This helps to prepare my mind as well.

Danggit, that leaves me out. I'm only interested in creepy ways.

Let us know if something cool happens.

Quotebut you are actually cow towing to something that is ultimately the biggest most preachery thing that currently exists in the world today... bar evangelical atheism.  grin
You just couldn't let me fart and tell everyone it's potpourri, could you? :-D
#911
Have you read through the many posts that address your concerns? The advice given is directed at you as well. One of the great things about AP'ing is that we knew you would be joining so everybody addressed your concerns ahead of time. :-D

We just left your name out of it so you wouldn't freak out.

Welcome, by the way.

I'd be insensitive if I bad talked people who followed organized religion. There are plenty of beautifully good people who are part of organized religion. It just doesn't float my particular boat. I don't wanna imply it's a negative thing, or that people mostly turn to it because of fear.

There are plenty of religious leaders who practice what they preach and are all about hope and love, just as there are followers who are the same.

I know that I am more critical than most but it's only because I was a true believer and I was "abandoned" in what I thought was my darkest moment. Maybe I just have some silly grudge but I've earned it.

If anyone reads one of my posts and they are a devout follower of an organized faith then I hope they know that I meant their beliefs no ill intent. I am not privy to anything special nor am I any more certain of what comes next than what they might be certain of themselves.

The last thing I want to be is to sound preachy but when I hear followers of a particular faith worrying about the devil when their belief in a savior is all that is supposedly needed, I do question whether or not it's fear or love that motivates their belief in certain faiths.

But we can't all be right and I'm betting on my own beliefs. But on the bright side, according to my beliefs, we can all go to a heaven of sorts. This is not a pass because I believe we will all have to honestly judge ourselves in one way or another. And I do mean honestly.

QuoteThe destination can be surmised, but the journey is the focus, and what might be experienced and learned and that data accessible to the wider Consciousness which resides outside the physical universe.

Uh...That's what Chopsticks said.

Does 1+1=2 only after you say it does? It seems as if we all agree on a whole lot but it comes down to semantics with you a lot of the times.

Will, you have some fascinating ideas but it's hard to see your point sometimes because you constrain the topic. I understand that you are talking apples and not oranges but to understand the oranges we need to know the seed. Why won't you just give us a generalized idea of why you think consciousness uses physical forms. You already said it's not to relate or understand cause and effect, so what's left? Just a curiosity to contemplate a death perhaps?

I promise that you can get right back on topic after you do so don't fear it, just go with it.

My name is Simon and I'm glad you recognized it for the joke it was.You are right about me learning just what I want to learn but I still pick up useful knowledge along the way that I never intended to. That's just life I suppose.

I am an optimist but only for my own little world and not the world as a whole. I agree with Silva when he says a society's technology is representative of their culture but this is not a good thing. As Lion already pointed out, any advancement in tech is always applied militarily first.

This is not gonna change any time soon or in the distant future I'm sorry to say.

QuoteIt can take faith to take your own path

That's a great way to look at it.

You are right when you say that fear and not faith is what leads most people to organized religion.

What you are doing may end up working for you but is this really what you want. I know you have strong feelings for this girl but if she was attracted to you through some sort of force that she was not aware of, it almost sounds like slavery.

There is a good reason why good women make us act like fools before they will give us the time of day. I just have no idea what it is.

But I have only been in real love once and even though the hell-B#$% (sorry Xanth, but that's her real name, honestly) tried to destroy me, I'm still the same ol' sap.

The heart wants what the heart wants and I know better than to try and talk you out of it.

Good luck to the both of you.

its_all_bad - Oh no way! The original is AMAZING. The voice on that woman is like SNAP!

Szaxx - I suppose when the time comes, I'll do what needs to be done. :) I wonder if they will continue to evolve in the direction they're going or it'll spin off on a tangent. Curious, curious....

Her name is Amy Lee and she is more than amazing like you say. She is one of the few female vocals that I actually really like. There is another but she is currently in China doing her thing and isn't concerned with the big stage right now.

Relax. Don't make expectations. Observe. Surrender and allow. Yeah, I think I might have stolen that saying from someone... :)
That would be Lionheart. I steal from him all the time.

You should put a warning on your cover songs.

Something like this:

Warning:  :-oListening to my cover may change your opinion about the original and it may seem less impressive than before I gave it my own spin. :-o

Hello laerrus. My reply may sound blunt at times but please understand that I am not being rude and I believe you can handle it. After all, your becoming an AP'er and can handle anything after that.
Everything I say is of course only my own belief.

QuoteMy father passed away when I was very young, it was a suicide, ever since he passed I've felt something following me, I quickly reached out to a church and immersed myself in all things "God,"

I'm sorry that you missed out on getting to know your father longer. Many cultures view suicide differently but in the western world we tend to place a lot of shame on it. It leaves a greater wake in it's path but I think that's because we tend to imagine if we could reach that level of despair personally. Your own thoughts are so chaotic right now that you may fear that you too, are capable of suicide. We all are but we are all capable of reaching a calmer more peaceful state as well. I've lost two friends to suicide and it is tough. But understand that your dad is not in any kind of hell because of his last choice. Me may be in a personal hell but he will one day figure it out and move on.

Most organized religions like to scare us into telling us that suicide is a mortal sin. Well, first of all, there is no such thing as a sin. The Christian church only declared suicide a sin several hundred years after the birth of Christ. This was because too many people took the teachings at its word and offed themselves in the belief that faith in Christ alone was all you needed for a ticket to heaven.  I think the church realized how much money they were missing out on because of these premature deaths and declared it a sin soon after.

I don't think that I am telling you something you haven't already learned but the church can't heal your heart or stop the dark thoughts. You have to personally believe that you are better and you don't need religion for that.

I've only smoked DMT twice and I put no thought or work into chakras so I can't comment with any knowledge on that.

But I can say that the negative force that you are feeling is all from you. There is nothing trying to get you but I know the feelings can be strong. You are dealing with some strong emotions and are vulnerable to misinterpreting simple things that you would not have even noticed in a more peaceful state. You have to work through the chaos in your thoughts and deal with them one by one.

Do you know what sleep paralysis is? If not, then read this thread.
http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_out_of_body_experiences/sleep_paralysis_the_whats_whys_and_wherefores-t38734.0.html

After you do, you should realize why the loud cracks coincide exactly with your deep, relaxed state. So long as you keep trying to conquer your fears, there is hope. Where there is hope, there is peace.

Good luck.

It seems to me that you are not fully surrendering. You have too many expectations.

Having an OOBE is like breathing. We can consciously take control of our own breathing but our bodies do a much better job if we just leave it be.

Try not to analyze everything that is happening. Just acknowledge the feeling and let them go. If you place too much significance on any one sensation, you'll automatically feel as if this isn't going to work because so and so said that they felt this that or the other.

We don't have to be mechanics to drive a car and it's the same thing with having an OOBE. You really are close but to be honest, you're no closer than you were before you never knew about the experience in the first place. That is how fragile the line is between the physical and non physical.

That's really not a fair statement but I want to point out that we all tend to dwell on things that happen naturally but we get in the way with our thinking.

You have already succeeded every time you dream. The key is to realize that there is nowhere to go and no body to get out of. Understand that and we'll see you in the astral.

Good luck.

Lately, I've been having what people keep telling me are false awakenings where I'll be dreaming that I wake up, will find myself in SP (dream sleep paralysis? Haha), will try to wiggle my way out, will get up, and will find myself either in my room or in some other realm for a few moments, until waking up in the real world.

Take your pick as to what it could be. Apples and oranges. I've recently been posting a lot about how my dreams are becoming more real and vivid. Been having more false awakenings, and am even going as far as to dream about being in sleep paralysis, or will dream about getting up and doing things in 100% physical feeling scenarios, that aren't real. So, like I said, I totally feel what you're going through and can probably relate to the weirdness you're feeling.  :-P

Hi Bridgy. This is a classic false awakening combined with SP. We don't realize just how quickly we can slip into the SP state.

Just the other night, I rolled over and decided to attempt an OOBE. Literally within seconds I was in SP and a light sleep but I never lost my awareness, or so I think. Anyways, the light came on in the room so I wanted to know how that was possible since I live alone. I leaned up and I was immediately pushed back down with a pillow and someone was smothering me. I was paralyzed except for my arms so I reached for the hands holding the pillow and had to peel each finger back, one by one, to see just who in the hell was tying to smother me.

Can you believe it was E.T. The E.T. I never trusted that little guy.

Needless to say, I never got up after my initial roll over and the light never came on and everybody knows E.T. went home many years ago.

SP can be a real mofo even when you know what it is and actually enjoy it most times.

You should go through this thread to read the difference between AP and OBE : http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_out_of_body_experiences/what_is_the_difference_between_astral_projection_and_obe-t30758.0.html

That thread gives a really good definition for people who insist on applying a difference. But that difference is only there by choice IMO.  :-)

Well you mentioned 'god' so I kept with that naming of it.  It is the common word or name for 'creator' but really we are it.
It is not the form which makes us 'grow'.  It is not 'less' it is just not our real identity.

It doesn't make us grow but it allows us to. It gives us the ability to really understand cause and effect.
