I'm sorry, I got carried away and that was one of the points I intended to make. I understand what you are saying because I don't personally put any belief into astral when I say it other than to relate to the existence of a NPR. There's no need to create a whole new language when there are already commonly accepted phrases. Just pointing out that this all very relevant to my own path. When I was a Christian I had to first drop the other terminology before I was able to rationalize it with my prior beliefs. I was so afraid of damnation.

It's not just you. I think he is making us suffer for his great insights just to give it all more meaning.

I was actually just trying to make a joke. When I got home I noticed it on the ingredients and thought, man that cant be good. I looked it up and I couldnt believe they put this in food and other products. Pretty cruel.

I'll admit that I did not look it up but I imagine that 4lbs. of titanium anything doesn't come cheap.

It's undeniable that we all have common experiences and we have to use common phrases and terms in order to relate and share the understanding of the experience with others. But many terms are in fact belief centric and this alone makes people unaware that they too can have the same experience if only they approached it from a different view.

The sensations that you felt and believed had the power to rip your physical body apart (which I assume that you are speaking metaphorically) does sound like the typical Kundalini snake experience. And it has helped you to relate this with the belief centric idea of Kundalini.

Many people get caught up in the terms and this prevents them from having the experience, much less relating to it. I am a big believer that any religious or theological approach to having an OOBE can be a hindrance to some (myself) and just the ticket for others. But I feel that those who approach it from a belief centric idea are closing themselves off to other possibilities. But if it works for them, then there is absolutely nothing wrong with that at all.

I just think it is a good idea to point at to those who have not yet had an OOBE, that it may be a good idea to wait and see for themselves so that they don't close their mind to other possibilities. I say this with the deepest respect for everyone's concerns and personal beliefs.

Many people have used the ringing in their ears as a way to fixate their focus on something that is non physical.

I wouldn't say that tinnitus is what is causing your OOBE's but that you are unknowingly using it to achieve one.

From what I understand this condition is hard on many people so I admire you for using it in a positive way.

All the recent gun debate in America has really shown what we value more. There is talk about putting armed guards in all the schools but then there is outage over who will pay for it. It just seems ironic that people will spare no expense to protect there personal property but want to argue over money to protect children. I'm not saying that I am for or against it but I'm only speaking of what it implies.

I forgot to add, is there a difference between a test and a retrieval? I just want to clarify this for myself.

To me there is but I may only be seeing it how I want to.

A test prepares us for many things and let's us know the areas where we excel as well as the one's we need more work. Obviously this is the same take on tests in the physical but in the NPR, they help us to grow much faster.

After my experience, I watched a Bob Monroe film in which he discusses retrievals but I don't recall if he ever used that term specifically. He says that the beings we retrieve from their own personal misery are just aspects of ourselves while others may be of no relation.

He has some amazing insights and I love how he is constantly reminding us to go and see for ourselves and not to take his word for it.

Four pounds of anything sounds like a big investment.

I always assume that everyone I meet online is as lucky as I am and gets to eat great food all the time. However, I know that I am wrong about this for many reasons.

I know nothing about supplements but I understand that some people can't eat the right foods to get the nutrients and vitamins they need.

I just can't understand why people want to torture themselves with good health. It's the slowest way to die.

Its strange, before when I was into lucid dreaming I would always try my hardest but sex would pop up.  I didn't feel guilty about doing it as I knew I was conjuring up something of my imagination.  But after my first OBE I can never see myself wanting to conjure up someone to have sex with in the astral.  Sex seems to human.  If I was sharing energy with another energy source in the astral, I would not think of it as sex at all but something much greater and meaningful.  

I think you have the right view. It's hard for many of us to think about this type of intimacy in any other terms.

Chops made an excellent point about the probable origins of some of these dark spirits or whatever.

I wouldn't doubt it some people were actually caught doing the horizontal bop and then blamed the guy/gal diving out of the hut window as a spirit that was there to violate him or her just to get off easy.
Never realizing that their little tale would plague generations to come.

We can use all kinds of knowledge gained from the NPR to make our physical lives better. So it may be possible but consider the possibility that coming in to a ton of easy cash may just well be the opposite of making your life better. It has happened to more than one individual.

Money is important to this life but I think it is one of the things that keeps some poor spirits grounded and unable to move on.

I have a great work ethic but I hate working for other people. I currently work for myself and get to work my own hours but it is a struggle at times in this economy. I can save money like a hoarder and then spend it like a drunken sailor in a new port. Easy come, easy go.

Do you realize how accurate your terminology was? When I first got out of college, I was a contractor for the Dept. of Defense and I had to work on a lot of navy vessels. I still can't speak in accurate terms concerning ship talk and I was raised on all kinds of boats and such.

I too, was introduced to all of this spontaneously only I let fear grip me. I admire you for your ability to just embrace what was happening in the moment.

That was years ago and I am a completely new and, I believe, a better person.

Have you had any more OOBE's since your first two?

Who are "they" that won't leave you alone?

I can only change my experience through intent but I am usually so engrossed that I don't even think to do it. I can not raise or lower anything other than my awareness. I am always so affected in the moment that it doesn't seem necessary.

I might be missing out on something but so long as I keep an open mind, I'll learn what I need to learn.

Just the other night, I left a projection and I had to get back there. I tried forcing it but that didn't work. I would phase into different settings and my mindset didn't allow me to just project into the place I needed to get to. I was being stubborn for the sake of being stubborn. I finally just surrendered like Lion explains and then it happened.

There are just too many exceptions to say that there are any hard and fast rules. But if you want to phase directly into a certain scene, you should have a very clear image of the place. If not, you can wait and project from a dream. This is usually the easiest way. I have been letting many of my dreams play out normally lately. We get so conditioned to gaining our awareness that it can actually hinder us from seeing what we just need to see instead of interacting and changing the course so to speak.

It's funny that you are having problems with Tornadoes. For some reason I seem to see them from a cloud view, then I traverse down them to the ground below.

These Tornadoes seem to be more like some kind of vortex to me.

At first they are black and white, then as I start to spin/traverse down them, I become aware of more beautiful colors.

The first time I went down one of these I found myself in a an area where there was a giant traffic jam in front of me. I was disoriented from the spinning sensation of going down that vortex. So it was hard to get my bearings.

I thought I would test where I was and for some reason I opened my hands to part the way, (similar to what Moses did) and all of a sudden the cars started flying through the air to separate a path. It was total destruction, cars flying through the air, people screaming, it was terrible. I said "oops, I'm sorry) and immediately left that place and came back to my physical awareness here.

When I awoke I said to myself "I can see a ban coming from this". But nothing really came out of it. 

I found that sometimes thought=action isn't always a good thing.

It sounds like you are experiencing the baby bunny tornadoes. Mine are big, dark and scary. I can see them off in the distance and this always gives me some false bravado that I can predict it's course and just stay out of it's way. In then it jumps....and then it splits....then it call's its buddies. I always see them in the same scene that is unknown to me but is as familiar as my own back yard.

I have never considered flying above them though, much less into one. This is some valuable insight. I know they are symbolic of many things but the usual accounts don't ring true for me.

Was wondering if any one had revisited any historical events on earth while in the astral?

Just recently I was in a WW2 battle. I was an American and I feel as if it took place during The Battle of the Bulge.

I have many other experiences that were in the past but I can not pin them down to any historical significance.

This would all be less confusing if they didn't exist in the first place.

I don't but I wish I did. I was condition to believe that dreams were nothing more than the trash swirling around our subconscious mind. A crying shame. I encourage all my nephews to remember their dreams and I even remind them to do cool things like fly. That's as far as I go since I don't want to be accused of teaching them "occultist" ways.

Even though I know thought equals action, the whole physical appeal during the experience usually stops me from considering these types of actions. I would never think to will my self there in an instant. I would wait for the car to pass and hurry across the street after looking both ways again.

I would hate to take a "wait and see what happens" attitude but just what if it's the child that turns out to be the deviant.

I just read another one of Szaxx's post which said that the feeling of always knowing we are physically safe will not always be there. That concerns me more than I want to admit.

So does the second personality metaphor because if anything, I can be less confident at times, while at others I feel like Superman.

Well the idea that anyone could have sex with a non physical being is impossible and if some one believes they have or believes its possible it says allot about their understanding.

Subbcus or how ever you want to spell it is again myth and fantasy and a pentagram is something out of films and myth and the occult.
Would you be repelled and sent away by a drawing on the floor? I doubt it, so would you if you were a spirit person...lol I doubt that also. We have to remember that this world is a version of the next. Think about it.

If your talking about having physical sex with a non physical entity, then yes I agree. But During an OOBE, two non physical beings can have a personal intimacy that is interfaced to look like physical sex. It's just a way of connecting with each other.

If that's the way that somebody wants to connect with another, then that's cool with me. It's just never been important enough to me to seek it out. I had an opportunity to once and saw some things that I wasn't ready to square with yet.
