Thank you "Awakened_Mind"... Just the correct confirmation I was looking for, so I guessed right... Buddhism does have its "protective shield", towards kundalini/chakra related problems.

Thanks to everyone for valuable thoughts

#2
How often i hear it in hinduism?

I should say - always. I mean the chakra topic. The problems caused are also discussed in advanced books, but its not known by the average follower.

I was suprised to read in 1 book which said, raising kundalini too quickly is not advisable because it will come down soon & stir up desire to dangerous levels.

But in buddhism, where meditation is a primary part of the religion, these  topics are suprisingly missing. Which means, something in that religion filters them (prevents from happening).

Thats why i was curious about  buddha's standpoint in this subject.

Hello Sara & cool guy,

I agree with both of you. I noticed that only after you pointed out. And I know the reason for that too. Because I am from a Buddhist country, I have seen him being worshiped... its a common thing here.

Maybe that has influenced me to unconsciously type like that  :-)

Thanks for the replies... [ By the way Sarah, if you didn't know it before... There is a temple for Ghandi in India!!  :-) ]

Note: I modified the title of the post (Removed the 'Lord' part)

I'm still waiting for an answer to my original question...

Hello Everybody,

I have NEVER heard of any unpleasant experiences, due to energy imbalance among the buddhist monks (even in their sacred text).

As a person who respect Buddha & his teachings (I am Hindu), I really wanted to know what the Buddha has to say about Kundalini energy, because I didn't like the 'energy imbalance' experiences I read about (e.g: Gopi Krishna).

But I couldn't find any article that points to any of the discourses of Buddha, where he talks about this energy or the experiences  :-(

Please share any information you know...

Welcome to Dreams! / Re: Dream Journal Software
November 19, 2007, 10:46:52
Hi there...

I am using the simple TiddlyWiki. Its just an HTML file with some javascript. The HTML page updates itself when you save it. It even has tagging... all in one simple HTML file.

Following is the link to the 'empty' tiddlywikki page which you have to save and use as you tiddlywiki page.
Just right-click on the following link and save the target ("Save Link As" in FireFox).
http://tiddlywiki.com/empty.html

Following is the link to their site: http://tiddlywiki.com/ (which is also a collection of TiddlyWiki posts)

There's no other 'software' to download. you need only a modern browser (I recommend Firefox). It can be used as anything (E.g. To-Do list etc)

If you found any useful tool that can be used as a dream journal please share.

Welcome to Dreams! / Re: Liquidised Baby...! :-o

Sorry for the long delay. By the way, I think I have only the 'normal' expectations as a guy. No special interests.

Anyways I didn't get those disturbing dreams after that... Thank you very much for your response

Welcome to Dreams! / Liquidised Baby...! :-o
September 24, 2007, 03:10:26
Hello everybody,

Hope someone has an explanation to the uncommon dreams I had.

I had 2 dreams in the last 2 days. BOTH of them having babies. (I'm Male, 28, not married & don't have any relationship currently)

1. I am holding a container and seated inside a vehicle that looks like a bus or something. The container is hot and you can see the steam through the semi-transparent white plastic container. I KNOW there's a baby inside and I have a feeling that its my baby! The bus goes through somewhat an uneven road that rocks everybody. When the bus stops, I open and peek in the container... the baby is DISSOLVED into liquid...  :-o
Looked like several eggs were broken and put inside. I was very upset when I woke up.

2. The 2nd day, I was taking a lady in a vehicle, who seems to be worried because of an abortion that happened suddenly. I was also upset (in that dream I had a feeling that I am the father). I even meet some of my friends who show sympathy because of the incident and comforts me.

I don't understand why I got such dreams. I am sunk in my software projects & hardly have time. Had a little free time only the last 2 days (the days I had the dreams), and I was playing the guitar (just bought, and I am a novice) for the 2 days (fingers hurt like wounds because I  am a beginner, I told that also so that you all have a full account of the current situation)

Hope everything is ok. Expecting your replies...

Cheers

I always hear a ringing if a computer, or tv or something comes on...but i'm pretty sure thats a common thing.

about a month ago i got a new tv and I had to put it in the far corner of the room because if i get to close the ringing is waaaaayyyyy too loud.

Hey kizzyboy328,

Im so glad that someone is there who hears the same thing... i mean TV, PC etc, sound. I have that with florescent lamps too (even if they are very silent ones).

I just wrote a reply to a post at:
http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_obe_discussions/i_saw_through_my_eyelids-t26417.0.html;msg220357#msg220357
with the same subject.

Cheers!

Hi,

Although I haven't had that experience during vibrational stages, I do have the sound in my ears during waking time...

I think, when we are awake in a quite room you can hear it like the high-pitched sound you hear when the TV is switched on (which most people don't hear). I even hear the same kind of sound when a florescent lamp is lighted (I have had arguments with some of my friends  :-) , they don't hear anything)

And if you concentrate on it, it gets louder. This might be the same sound you are also hearing when you go to the vibrational stage.

Or... am I talking about something else here  :?

Cheers!...

First of all I apologize from everybody who replied to my post for coming sooo late... (I was trapped in work all this time, while in the back of my mind I was thinking what would have happened to the post)

When I came back today (with a good news of 6 or 7 consecutive lucid dreams for the 1st time last night, described in the following post: http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_dreams/6_or_7_consecutive_lucid_dreams_induced_intentionally-t25921.0.html), i was happy to see all your replies.

Well, I don't think it has anything to do with politics as CFTraveler has thought, since I hate politics :x and wouldn't think of it while i am in bed. But your "religious", idea might have a point (I am a Hindu), more on it below.

Quote
I don't believe the people were you, you are being sympathetic to some external people.. Because you are too far above them you cannot help these people.

Maybe Alaskans is right in that... I remember running away only because I can't stand there and watch that horrible squashing. I was not afraid that I would be squashed too, I was kind of "sure" about my character at that moment.

My meditation + reading spiritual text + spiritual thoughts might be playing a part too. I am a Hindu, but not that religious in the sense of 'rituals' & going to temple (i rarely go). But have a strong spiritual urge that pushes me to something.

I love animals... all of them. I have started feeling guilty of consuming chicken, fish etc. recently (I never stopped though). I even saw a dream where there are so much of animals on the road (all kinds, big & small), blocking my way (not angry, but just blocking the way), on a day I had chicken for lunch! Maybe I am scared deep within my subconscious mind about it)

Well, that sort of dreams never came again. Only happy lucid dreams, and my success rate increases in that

Thanks for all the thoughtful replies.

Hello everybody,

I am a happy guy today, for I had 6 or 7 (I lost the count on the way ) lucid dreams last night, and they were 'induced' intentionally (the place & content of almost 5 of them as I remember)

Its a surprise because I didn't do any reality check on the day. Only updated my dream journal last week (which has only 3 entries in total  :-) ). And I didn't think of lucid dreams when I went to sleep either...

I woke up early for an unknown reason (just eyes open, in bed). Then when I started to fall asleep gradually, I had a strong grip on my consciousness, i didn't lose it completely. And I started feeling a tingling all over the body while an image started to form in my mind's eye... my heart was racing, knowing that a lucid dream is on its way... and within seconds the image got clearer & I was the world of a lucid dream. Since the world was not that clear I tried spinning, and looking at my hands.

But that dream world was not spawned by my will. Then I lost that dream & woke up (eyes still closed). After a couple of minutes I started falling asleep again, this time I was telling myself "I am having a firm grip on my consciousness & will spawn a lucid dream", then the same cycle again...

Now I did my part of "visualizing" & thinking what I want to see, while the image is unfolding itself...
A point I would like to emphasize on is that I search for the sky in the unfolding image, while having a strong desire to see a specific place... (optionally, specific people or things in it).

Then like magic, when the image made itself clear, I was standing on the very place I desired to be at... I quickly looked at my hands, examining them thoroughly (i do this every-time when I need clarity)

So in short this was the cycle...

1. Starting to fall asleep... (try to hold the consciousness, while waiting for images to form...)
2. Tingling feeling all over the body with goosebumps... heart racing...
3. An image starts forming in the mind's eye... (visualize the place you want & believe you will be there, search for elements in the sky, like clouds etc...)
4. Now you are in the lucid dream world... so clear, excited (don't loose it, look at your hands, remind yourself to stay relaxed)
5. Dream ends, waking up, eyes still closed (Start again from number 1 ....)

set the alarm to 4 a.m in the morning and try...

Its quite sometime since I had this dream. I somehow forgot about it for a while...

But I remembered it again yesterday and thought to write it here, so that I can see whether anyone else can relate to such a dream.

Well, it was really scary... I was standing on a platform thats about 15 feet from the ground, the roof was close to my head...

The building was something like a pig farm... which had a fence of about 4 feet, filled with naked men and women! all covered with a thick liquid, slippery like oil & muddy in color... screaming in terror.

They all tried to crawl & swim there way to the rightmost side of the fence (to save there lives) atop of other men and women, they can't stand up since there are lot of people in the muddy oil, and all of them were floating & sinking simultaneously.

Why there was so much terror and struggle to get to the far right? well, thats the most scariest things in this dream... in the leftmost side i can see there's an opening through which the men & women fall through, because there are lot of people filled in, they are pushed out through that opening... which goes down like a dark cave...

I can hear the sound of a machine, right at the beginning of the opening of the tunnel through which the people are falling one by one... and that machine... (oh man I hate this...) squashes them into liquid in a second... :-o only the blood can be seen flowing through the tunnel... whoever was close to the machine would scream like hell and grab other slippery bodies to get to the other side...

I was watching them with equal terror until I understood whats going on, something in the back of the mind told me that these are "bad" type of people and they are being punished...

Then I start running down the staircase  :-o, and out of that place...

I was really upset when I woke up and was telling my friends too about the dream. It was really vivid than the everyday dreams, thats why I was a little disturbed... wish I can draw a picture of the scene sometime when I get time, to post it here.

I agree with you completely...

coming from a Hindu background, and living in a Buddhist country, I have read so much on the subject (although I never have experienced it yet).

Controlling your sexual urge is highly recommended to achieve a "smooth" awakening... even if you do, the awakening will still take you by surprise. Swami Vivekananda says, the Kundalini energy will come down suddenly as fast as she went up through your spine, and when she does, for untrained minds, it will create an uncontrollable sexual urge. Which will be really hard to fight.

Rick NurrieStearns of personaltransformation.com writes:
"A couple of years later the sexual energy became more intense and at times started to manifest during the day. When the energy came forth I would feel sexually charged to the point of being consumed in raging lust. The energy was intensely primal, being completely beyond all thought and having no ethic or moral discrimination to it"

I read that part in the following page (I discovered the site recently and can't assure its truthfulness): http://www.personaltransformation.com/PubTransform.html

Thats why asceticism is recommended by yogis.

It doesn't mean that you should not marry or live a normal life. But if you are a monk your progress will be accelerated. If you live a normal life and practice with confidence... well, still you are going to be successful.

The best example I can give you of a person who lived a normal life and was transformed by the spiritual serpent energy is Gopi Krishna of India. Whats so special about him is the way he puts his experiences into writing. Just try googling his name (He has written some excellent books too)

Here's one paragraph from his autobiography that describes his awakening excellently:

"Suddenly, with a roar like that of a waterfall, I felt a stream of liquid light entering my brain through the spinal cord. Entirely unprepared for such a development, I was completely taken by surprise; but regaining my self-control, keeping my mind on the point of concentration. The illumination grew brighter and brighter, the roaring louder, I experienced a rocking sensation and then felt myself slipping out of my body, entirely enveloped in a halo of light. It is impossible to describe the experience accurately. I felt the point of consciousness that was myself growing wider surrounded by waves of light. It grew wider and wider, spreading outward while the body, normally the immediate object of its perception, appeared to have receded into the distance until I became entirely unconscious of it. I was now all consciousness without any outline, without any idea of corporeal appendage, without any feeling or sensation coming from the senses, immersed in a sea of light simultaneously conscious and aware at every point, spread out, as it were, in all directions without any barrier or material obstruction. I was no longer myself, or to be more accurate, no longer as I knew myself to be, a small point of awareness confined to a body, but instead was a vast circle of consciousness in which the body was but a point, bathed in light and in a state of exultation and happiness impossible to describe"

As for my knowledge, Gopi Krishna did the "Visualizing a lotus flower above your head that emits bright white light" kind of meditation.

Hope the information helps somebody...

did u mean "orgasms" ???  :-o

thats risky!  :-)

well, can anybody suggest me a specific "beginner's" technique (or a link that points to one) for me to raise kundalini energy? which HAS WORKED for you.

Looking forward anxiously to start straightaway tonight...

Thanks in advance

Hello everybody,

I have never experienced the rising of energy... I would like to know from any experienced person, a simple method to give me a head start to raise kundalini energy...

well, is there one like that? where you can feel 'something' during your first attempt itself (which will give me so much confidence in the path to continue with more enthusiasm)

#17
Hi everybody...

I am a person who is still trying to project... Last night when I went to bed after meditation, I remember getting the vibes very soon, with occasional sinking feelings...

Then I lost awareness for a while... then suddenly the awareness came back... while my eyes were still closed, i started to see everything faintly...

When it got a little more clear... this was the part that scared me... I saw a very big white hand (only up-to the wrist) like a "this way" sign with the index finger pointed right at my face!  :-o

Oh man, with a speeding heart, i woke up... then I had to struggle for a while to go to sleep normally.

Well, I think I'm getting closer... getting used to these unexpected visions is the obstacle...

Meet u all in the next post with a pleasant (hopefully) experience...

Hello psychonaut...

Thank you very much for the suggestions. I didn't know about Walsch before. I'll Google & see why you recommended.

I used to read books of Paul Brunton.

By the way thanks again for the suggestions.
#19
Thanks everybody for the encouraging words...

Actually I am doing meditation for almost 1.5 years... Thats something I like doing... So I developed a liking for AP and LD only very recently.

I have found that our mental state throughout the day matters... I had the 1st and only very vivid Lucid dream because I did reality checking the whole day... And had a very strong will to have a Lucid dream that day...

But other days when I get busy at office, when all that I have in my mind is software and other technical stuff, I don't even know when I fall asleep...

So, now I have a plan... I am going to dedicate at least 1 hour to read about AP & LD everyday... That will take all the common problems out of my mind & will make me think only about all-things-spiritual...

Hope that will work.
#20
Hello everybody...

I am jealous about you guys...

I'm trying and trying... had only 1 very vivid Lucid Dream to date, and one clear
quick separation (fell through the bed & joined back instantly)

Never a full OBE... only up to vibes...

But I hope to post my great experiences one day too...  :-)

Well, how long does your OBEs last? Can you hold it as long as you want? Can you spawn people & things like in Lucid Dreams?

Which is the better? (OBE or Lucid Dreams?)

Confused...
#21
Hi there...

Can u explain what you are trying to say please. (I mean the technique, or the
way of meditation).

#22
Hello Abraham,

I was like you too. When I started meditation when I was about 20 or so, i never even read about astral projections or lucid dreaming, because I didn't believe anything other than God.

I still believe in God & do regular meditation, but also try my best on Astral Projections & Lucid Dreaming. I have had a couple of Lucid Dreams, and that's when I started believing that Lucid Dreams are for real!

I still didn't have any OBE, but i know i am so close from the vibrations. I was stunned when I experienced the vibrations for the 1st time. Now I believe and trying my best to exit.

(One of my friends who belongs to your religion is already projecting!!, he prays 5 times a day as instructed in your religion. And he is a strong Muslim guy!)

OK guys... I think you all have tried  your best to convince this guy... if he is so stubborn, why waste your precious time typing... use those valuable keystrokes to help guys like me to exit successfully...

Hi All (after a looooong time),

I thought to reply to this after reading Abraham's posts...

Well, Abraham, as others have asked u, how r u going to prove that YOU are right!? I am a Hindu but also believe in the path of Lord Buddha strongly as well.

Don't stick to something like you are blind, study your religion well, compare with the others (with a neutral point of view).

Know what other people & religions are going behind & why... There's something Lord Buddha & some other Hindu yogis have said:

"Don't believe us blindly... search the truth for yourself"

They did it with meditation... and people in this forum our trying the varieties of meditation. If they are wrong in some way, they will know it when they get to the next level... because spiritual work can only improve your consciousness...

So have an open mind & search the truth for yourself...

Hello everybody,

There are so many topics & discussions going on this forum. As I have seen there are so many people who have succeeded in their own techniques and practices. But I have to give my opinion as a whole!

Everything in this world is changing. You, me, nature, technology Etc. and everything is getting destroyed one by one, whether it be an important one or not. For example, even if we have special powers or not, we are going to be dead (Physically). What remains in the end is our soul & consiousness!

It's all in the mind. When we dream we don't know we are dreaming and think that it is the reallity. Likewise we will discover that this "real world" is something that was projected strongly to our concsiousness when we wakeup to the ultimate reallity (not death but the Enlightenment).

Many powers will come to us when we go on meditating (when kundalini rises step by step). But if we seek the path of powers, once again we are getting trapped to this world & mind only, rather than freeing ourself from them and being as one with the ultimate consiouness. (If you get disolved into God why do you need material & powers that were created by him?) Lets say you are crazy for a musician's autograph, if you marry him/her, do you need his/her autograph anymore while you have the person all for yourself??)

We can use powers, help others. But it shouldn't be our goal.

This is how I see things. My thoughts are so much influenced by the great indian yogi, Swami Vivekananda. And Mr.Paul Brunton's books (the western yogi)

I welcome any comments for my looooooooong post.

Love GUHAN

Hello everybody,
I am someone who is so curious about Meditation, Astral projection, OBE Etc. I can see that this is a very busy forum on the subjects, and I am happy to be a new member.

I am sure that I have so much to offer to the forum as a Hindu, regarding meditation and other topics

Will meet you all shortly.

Yours truly,
GUHAN.
