Strange Memories That Seem Very Real

Ever have a very real memory, with someone else in it, and they don't remember it when you ask them? What is this?


I vividly remember when I was about 4, being in a dark 'hospital room', with 'cords with suction cups' (sorry can't remember actual term  ) on my bare chest.
To my left was a screen showing my heart, and what it was doing at that moment. I remember thinking it was weird, because I thought hearts were shaped.. like a cartoon heart.

There was a nurse in the room with me, and my mother.
When I ask my mother about this, she says it never happened.
Does such technology even exist?
I never had any heart problems..


..So what happened?
I'm thinking it could be:

1. Alien Abduction Thing, my mom just doesn't remember
2. Past Life Moment, where my mom from that life was there, but in my memory, my brain makes her appear as my mom from this life
3. A Dream, although it was very real, and I don't know how I could come up with that at such a young age


But how can it be a past life moment, when I believe in the astral planes for the afterlife? Do you not stay there forever, or can you sometimes reincarnate? I haven't read this, but, I haven't read much.

Could it be that you were actually in a hospital at that age and hooked up to a cardiac monitor?
Also the memory could be from an earlier time that you have transplanted at time you can consciously recall. Were you perhaps born before term?
