Hi, a good friend of mine is seriously considering an ordination as a Buddhist monk, he did some research, wrote some e-mails just to find out it's not as easy as it seems.

I thought this forum would be a good place to ask,

Any ideas how a guy from UK can become a Buddhist monk. He is very serious about it

Thanks

p.s and the question from me, what do you guys personally think of Buddhism?

Szaxx

There are meeting rooms around the country. These can teach too, usually open one day a week. Im sure one exists in Buxton Derbyshire.
It's a Google job...
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

As Szaxx suggests, I think this is a job for da Google.  :)

In any case, the second question I can provide my perspective...

Of any religion, the philosophies and beliefs of the Buddhist, I believe, are most closely entwined with spirituality and the greater truth.
However, with that said, and in my opinion, *ALL* organized religions are useless and have missed the forest for the trees.

I would also say its google , dogpile , or the phone book , to find the closest  Buddhist temple .
