Every time I am about to leave...

I have been trying to astral project for at least two years now and every time I feel myself about to leave (vibrations, twitching, a sense of floating) my heart starts to race so hard and rapidly that it distracts me back into full consciousness. Last night was the furthest out I have ever been, yet I got to a point that it felt like my entire body was pounding, like there were little shock waves emanating from the center of my body...what do I do about this?

You don't do anything, it is normal. The exit sensations can trigger the natural human fight/flight fear response in the body and cause adrinaline to be released which will cause your heart to race. Disrupting the experience. Learn to ignore it. Just keep practicing so the body can adapt.

However, from what you wrote you should be in a deep enough trance not to feel your body so just go with the vibrations. The pulsing wave sensations you feel at that point is caused by your heart chakra, not your physical heart. The intensity of these sensations will become less noticeable over time.

Oh and you might want to go read some books and search the forum for posts. These vibrations have been mentioned a thousand times by many, many people.  :-)

Thank you, I think you have pinpointed my problem; I have never been in a deep enough trance, so as not to feel my entire body. My core and head have always remained present...only my arms and legs have been "numb". I am so close I can feel it, I just get the feeling that I don't know how to make the exit, because I have never really done it before. I have read so much on the subject, I own at least four books but sometimes you just cant juxtapose written words to the real thing...

I have had this problem off and on for sometime now. I feel it is the conicous mind resisting for we naturally fear the unknown and whenever doing something not familar those sensations happen. It'll happen in time. With me I have obe lots of times and some of those times I literally have to fight with myself to do it other times it happens quickly.
