One World Gov/New World Order

Warning this is kinda long as I was playing out some random thoughts.

The One World Government or The New World Order, however you want to put it there is deffinately more talk and worries coming into the light about this sequence of events.

  Many, many people predict this insane form of government coming to power to rule the world with an iron fist.  Many of these same people believe that it will be the U.S. starts this and ends up in control.  Well not so much the U.S. persay but the "Shadow Government" that is sapposedly running the show from back stage even now.  They believe that this government will not be for the good of the people but only for the good of those in power.  But with this change in gov. comes a change in that power.  Those that think they are in control now will be cast down from thier throwns to wollow with the meek.  It is believed as well that this new gov. will be of a militaristic nature and march much to the tune of the Nazi's of WW2.  Those that do not join will be cut down and considered rebels, terrorists, and traitors.  Many believe also that this will be started by a war or plauge that stricks the whole world at once.  Some even think that it will be like the movie "Independance Day" except that the sapposed threat will be from our own kind in disguise.  It is believed that there are two main points for this kind of action.  One would be to cause a unifying force, one that will call for the world to gather and protect itself.  The second being to cut down the number of people on the planet.  Many claim that groups like the Masons and the Illuminaty will be the new leaders and they currently have plans to reduce the population to a more managable number.  It would be easier for them to gain and maintain control untill everything is place, this also would be done to maximize the usage of what rescourses would be let after such a cotastrafy.
    So how would a situation like this impact us normal people?  I guess that all depends on if you are among those that survive.  The wrold as we know it today would become a harsh place to live.   Perhaps it would be better to be one that does not make it.
    I also wonder how this would impact our collective consiouness?  With so much loss of life would it become damaged beyond repair?  Would some thing like this cause the human race to de-evolve mentally?  How much would be lost?  How much would be gained?  Would things eventually become like in StarTrek, a civilized utopia?  How long would that take?

    I also wonder how this fits into the religious side of things.  Is some thing like this akin to the comming of a false god as describe by many religions?  And now that I am thinking of it, Any body ever notice that in StarTrek there is no referance to what religion Humans are?  Some times they mention something but always in the past tence, like they no longer believe in anything.  Just a thought.

    On the other side of things many people think that such a case is not as bad as some would have you believe.  They think a unified gov. would be a good thing and that there would be no power struggle to install it.  Again many of them think that the U.S. will be starter of that as well.  This side of the coin says that there is no threat from anyone but ourselves and that we need to unify in order to survive as a species.  They think that all the other nations will eventually see how every thing should be done and will join the U.S. as sister states so to speak.
    I personally think that is an arrogant point of view but still some people believe it.  But what are the possabilities of that happening either.  Me personally I think more of the first case.  Unfortunatly I don't think that we here in the U.S. have our act together at all and if given or even attempted to "go for the gold" there would much resistance.  Most of the other nations of the world don't like us very much as a country and I don't think it would be possible to create a New World Order with out a lot of blood shed.

    So what do you all think?  Are we headed for a World Gov?  Do you believe this to be good or bad?  How will effect us spiritually?  Is this the next step in our overall evolution?
