Weird dream.. and possibly sleep paralysis?

Well, as usual, I took a little "nap" before going to school this morning. I had this weird dream where a girl with a head the size of a baseball, with a normal sized body, came running down my stairs like a zombie and then yelled at me like she was going to kill me. It was quite lucid, so I changed the dream up and made it so she wasn't there anymore. I proceeded to go up my stairs and then she came down again, this time I threw her down the stairs. She got up and came yelling again, so I kicked her in the face. At that instant, she mutated and it made me so scared that I woke up, only to feel that feeling of being trapped in your body. I felt as if this was prime time to try and project so I tried to get the vibrations to get to me. I went back to sleep again and had the same dream, this time waking up for real. Anyone know what this could have been?(the sleep paralysis thing.)

Hey an3mptyb0tt13,

This sounds very similar to a lot of my 'waking into a sleep paralysis state' experiences. Usually the immediate precursor dream contains a degree of lucidity, and an element of fear. What I think is happening is that we are on the border of sleep, so still seeing the dream images, but we become subconsciously aware of the paralysis state – this immediately generates a knee-jerk fear reaction which colours the dream which is occurring – making it more dark/scary. Once we become more awake and consciously aware of the sleep paralysis, we can reduce the fear and utilise it to OBE.

Thanks for the reply! I haven't had this happen again, but I'm sure it will happen again eventually. I have never experienced this before, so I didn't quite know what to do. Sleep paralysis is a weird feeling, and it's hard to get used to the feeling of not being able to move. I did enjoy the slight "floating" feeling whilst in this state, though.
