Once right before I was just about to 'seperate' from my physical body, I hear the most beautiful symphonic orchestral song I have, possibly, ever heard. The best way I can describe it is that it seemed familiar and yet it twisted and turned in ways that kept surprising me.
My question is...
Is this song a production of my mind or do you think it came from the Astral?

If only I could of recorded it! :)

Many of the famous Artists of yesterday and today did just that. The Beatles and Paul McCartney are just a couple of famous names that I know have given credit to the NPR (Non Physical Reality) for their songs. Others like Pink Floyd have attributed most of their Altered States via drugs to being a inspiration to their music as well.

@ Amorda,
Next time you get to the hypnagogic state just think of some music that you like. Play it in your mind and soon you'll be hearing it. It doesn't matter if you don't know all the words too, you can create your own and the song you appear to be hearing will sing the ad-libbed lyrics you made up.
If you use binaural beats create one where you have a 6.3 HZ beat from a base 136.3HZ   and a single base of 143.3HZ. Set the volume at 50% for each.
Add pink noise set at 40% volume.
Play this mix at a higher than normal volume so its very clear without being too loud and obtrusive.
If you are relaxed the hypnagogic noises will appear within 1 min of listening. These can be manipulated very easily and you can create any sound you like.
The beat setting is useful for a projection too.
I use Eden Beats, an android app, free from play store or whatever name they have now.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

I watched "Cloud Atlas" last night for the first time. This was premise of the movie. The song came to him in a "Dream".

The movie was excellent. It got kind of boring and hard to follow at a couple of different times in the movie and I found myself ready to turn it off, then all of a sudden something interesting occurred and sucked me back into it. It is a 3 hours movie, so you really need to be "prepared" for that when you watch it.  :-)
