Not feeling vibrations?

Hello everybody, just a quick question. I've been using the rope method, but I've been having trouble. I get very relaxed. I imagine myself climbing the rope, and I get that floating feeling. But I've been trying almost every day, and I have not been getting the vibrations. Am I supposed to feel them with this method? If so, how do I bring about the vibrations?

Hello everybody,
Hello Liminalitus.
Quotejust a quick question.
Ok, a few things:
The rope method is an exit method.  This means you should be feeling exit sensations first, and then doing it, not using it to get exit sensations.
As I inferred before, vibrations are exit sensations.  This means that they are something that happens to you when your conscious awareness is moving away from your body, not something you do.  The author who popularized this method describes it as the sensations you feel as your energy body generates a double.  In other words, they are a perceptual phenomenon that happens upon the exit, and also known as transition sensations.  They are not something you do to get out, the exit method is what you use to get out.
So there's a possibility that there are a few things going on here: The first is that you have already projected or are transitioning quickly and are not feeling the transition (hence the floaty feeling).  If this is the case you're already out but not moving anywhere because by using the rope you are relocating yourself in.
The more obvious reason is that you're not deep in trance enough, and need more preliminary relaxation, and things to add to your routine.  (Further down).
Another reason could be that you're not the type of person who gets vibrations as exit symptoms, if this is the case you will have to find another way to find out if you are ready to get out yet.  There are other symptoms, such as hypnagogic hallucinations, sounds, and the 'rocking and floaty' feeling, which I call end-stage vibrations.
If any of these is the case, try to get further into your trance, maybe try some energy loosening exercises before you start on an exit technique, and especially with rope, don't ever stop and give up.
In other words, if you reach what you believe to be a very deep trance, pull on the rope and not feel it's working, keep pulling on that thing until you either become exhausted and pass out or wake up.  (If you get up and walk away this is an indication that you were not relaxed enough, and if you pass out then this is an indication that you need more trance training, or do not have enough energy (or a host of others, but these are the main ones.)
Good luck, and remember, don't use rope as a trance technique, use it as what it was intended for, the exit.

I'll try and add a little to CFT's advice,

First, don't get too frustrated; most of us go through this initial difficulty. IMO you are searching for the trigger or set of triggers that, uniquely, will work for you. You will probably 'stumble' on it, and then have to work backwards to figure out what actually worked. So, try different techniques, different times of the day or during your normal sleep cycle. Read up on the techniques offered on this site.

Every meditation/trance event you undertake, even if it is seemingly unsuccessful, serves to 'program' your subconscious/superconscious/astral mind (or whatever) with your 'intent' to go OBE or Phase, and I think that has to help create the neural/astral connections needed to complete the process.

The vibrations are unmistakeable; the noises and voices can be alarming in their realism; the floaty, disconnected feelings are physically very noticeable...these are great roadsigns but not necessarily present for everyone, or every time.

Personally, I've had a few dozen projections, but never from a clearheaded, waking, meditative trancestate, my ego still refuses to let go. But if I set my alarm for 3 in the morning, and then try meditating, my results improve dramatically. The body is rested and relaxed, and the mind is relaxed. However, sometimes I get nothing after 30 minutes of trance, get frustrated, give up and roll over to go back to sleep; and after a minute Bang! There are the vibrations and I'm lifting out...

My neural/psychic connections seem to be getting stronger, but it's still, admittedly, an imperfect process.

Another thing that helps, as CFT pointed out; any kind of preliminary chakra stimulation or Robert Bruces' energy loosening techniques are very beneficial, at least in my experience.

Best of luck and have fun,

EV

QuoteYou will probably 'stumble' on it, and then have to work backwards to figure out what actually worked.

Thats what happened to me... around 5 days ago i woke up in bed and caught myself in a great condition to exit, and almost had it. it ended up with me floating upside down with my astral/etheric head still connected to my physical head, hoping to god my brother wouldnt come in the room and (somehow) see me floating upside down.  ever since then i've only ever not felt like this on 1 of those 5 mornings.

now that i've 'stumbled' onto the way i work best at i just need to exit fully... so far the furthest away from my body i've managed is the end of my bed... cant seem to move any further than that...

as for vibrations i've never felt any that i didnt assume was my own heartbeat, never really noticed any at all... unless you can count that intense tingling feeling you get when you're in your etheric body as vibrations... nor have i heared any noises other than something similar to when you hold a sea shell up to your ear.

you'll never exit unless you're relaxed enough to fall asleep, just dont give up... the worst thing you can do is probably give in completely. part of the reason people can project when they want to is because they truly believe that they can. brainwash yourself with the true belief that it's possible and easy when you know how and it will be if you're relaxed enough.

Thank you all very much! The advice has gotten me closer to a projection than ever before, but I'm going to try tonight, and I think this is it. I plan on becoming a regular around these forums, it's the least I can do. See you all around.
