Hi! i don't usually write here, but i'm always reading what others write, and i'm pretty new at this, so i need some help, please! :)
ok, so this is what happened to me this morning.

I woke up at about 8, so i just hung out for about an hour, and then went back to sleep. I'm not really sure how this happened, but i remember realizing that i was dreaming, so i took advantage of the situation, and started lifting my astral body. I don't know if this is 'normal' but every time i try to do that, my body feels REALLY heavy, (it actually hurts) and i have a hard time trying to pull away my astral body. I also have problems trying to open my eyes. I don't know why but they won't open. So today, when i started flying, i struggled to have my eyes half-open, and then i woke up. Then, i fell asleep again, and thinking that i was awake, i started hearing some voices in my ear. I don't remember exactly what they said, but they sounded as if they were having fun (i mean, i didn't think they were 'evil' or anything). Has that happened to anybody? I think that maybe they were the voices of other people astral projecting? what do you guys think?

Oh, and does anybody know how to get my eyes open without waking myself up?
Any comments will be appreciated  :D
Thanks!!

Once I woke to the feeling of leaving my body...I heard children laughing and playing which sorta scared me and as I got frightened the laughs became cries and screams which really scared me but I said to myself its ok...just relax and they will fade and after a moment they did.

Most of my astral projections have this same problem (I've been doing this for like 5-6 months) I feel myself leave my body buy I cannot see...I will try to will myself to see but it doesn't work...I try to use my astral hands to pry my eyes open and it doesn't work either.

I just think that eventually I will learn a way to see when I project (consiously or unconsiously)

Also when you said it hurts...I've felt pains when a chakra becomes very active as well...then I say no it doesn't hurt and I focus on the feeling more and I realize its not really pain its more pressure or tingling or as I once wrote "Like a photon rapidly hitting a plate in the middle of my head"

Hi melynna,

The noises you experienced are very common during the exit phase of a projection and are called (quite succinctly) "astral noises" by Robert Bruce (check out the Astral Dynamics section on this).  These noises can be of ANYTHING--from simple creaks and groans, to animal noises, to laughing, screaming, etc.  They apparently always go away after you have completely left your physical body.  The best thing to do is to just ignore them...they are just a distraction to projecting.  I don't know how many times I have been scared or tricked out of projecting by believing one of the noises.  As to what they are, I'm not sure, but they're probably just a defense mechanism of the subconscious to keep you from projecting before you are ready--they definitely seem to act that way.  Keeping the relaxed focus needed for projection requires that you don't give any excess attention or an emotional response to the noises you hear as you project.  Once you "get out", they most likely will go away (they always have for me...in fact, it's been peacefully quiet).  It is possible that you are hearing energetic echoes or voices from people sleeping or projecting nearby (relatively speaking), but those usually don't have the distracting quality of the "astral noises".

As for not being able to see, I've had similar experiences.  My guess is that I haven't transferred my point of consciousness to the projection; i.e., I may have projected, but my dominant state of consciousness is still with my physical/bioenergetic body.  It may also be that your energetic body doesn't have enough energy to "pump in" and activate your astral sight--doing energy building exercises may help that problem.  The heaviness/pain may also have to do with the need to strengthen the energy body.

:)

Thanks for your responses!  :D

I was thinking about the energy stuff, do you know why it happens? and where can i find information on how to do those kind of exercises?

Timothy Yuen

It seems that the astral body is created by the physical/energetic body.  If there isn't enough "juice", the astral body isn't fully activated or brought to a place where it can use it's innate capabilities.  Building the energetic body provides a capacitor of sorts to hold and pump energy that can be used to fashion an astral body (though calling it a "body" is in some sense a misnomer, since it only has something resembling a physical body when you create one).  With more development, the energetic body becomes more of a conduit where energy continually flows in rather than building up and discharging.  Robert Bruce's New Energy Ways (NEW) is a very accessible system for energy development.

There are many other methods/traditions that have energy building exercises (such as forms of qigong, yoga, etc.)--most likely there is one that will suit your personality.  However, the NEW system is simple and direct and can easily get you to where you want to be with astral projection.

This is strange. This voices that you hear- I hear them right before I actually fall asleep.. usually before I enter a dream I will start hearing voices talk to me and laughing. I usually talk back wondering what they are speaking of - since its mostly random stuff. I thought this happened before you drifted off to sleep - does it happen then as well? OR just around the time that your APing?

It happened just before i fall asleep. And it was exactly like you said, i mean the voices were talking and laughing. I remember that one of them was a woman's and she said something about me freaking out (about something). that's all i can remember, but i thought she was nice. Nothing scary. But i didn't talk back to them. And when you do talk back to them, what do they say to you?

skydust

i used to hear voices, or more like random bits of conversations just before i fell asleep. it was as if i was hearing people around the world talking. they didnt make much sense though, cause as soon as i tried to make sense of what they said it would end and another start, but they did melt into eachother. i dont know if they were astral voices or just my mind playing a trick on me.

poetic_tragedy

Melynna, When I talk back I they respond to me. I usually just accept what they tell me and dont take much consideration in what theyre saying. Almost the same thing happens when I wake up in the mornings with a thought in my head about something crazy (for instance, " dont forget to go to the field". Does this happen to you as well?

mhat

I get this too sometimes...I was just remined of an instance reading your post. I remember I was in trance and it was two old ladies saying something like "If only we were behind" or something I forget...I've also heard my parents in conversation but I forgot everything they said by the time I woke up...and they live 20hrs drive away!

Regarding voices, this is very common.

Fequently for me after apparently waking in the morning I will hear voices.  Sometimes sounds exactly like the radio is on, or else it sounds like other people are in the house just chatting.  It is extremely realistic, and if you are living alone at the time quite disturbing - cos you wonder who the strangers are in your house!!!

For me these sounds are a sure sign of a "false-awakening".  Just get out of bed and you're free!  The sounds then go away.

Regarding vision problems, I have these too.  One way to address this is to start flying or moving rapidly over whatever environment you find yourself in - be it countryside, town, over ocean or wherever.  But as you fly, observer the scenery intently and wait for it to sharpen up.  For some reason observing moving scenery is an effective way of improving clarity.  For me this often works very well....

btw "clarity now!" for me does not work!

poetic_tragedy: well, that thing about waking up with weird thoughts, doesn't happen to me, or at least, i don't remember..  it's interesting though lol
mhat : you know that happens to me too, i've always thought that maybe i was hearing REAL conversations, but i could never find that out, because i as soon as i stop listening to the voices, i forget what they where talking about...most of them were of people real close to me (such as parents, friends or grandparents, and i think i should add they're all alive); except for the woman's voice that i said before, but then, when i was younger, i wasn't trying to astral project. So i don't know it's confusing...
Catmeow: i've tried to fly and get out of my room ( that's where i usually show up). And i can float, but most of the times, i can't get get out of the room. Except for one time, in which i could, and went to the ocean, or sea, i'm not sure what that was, but somehow i managed to open my eyes. That was one of my first projections, but i can't remember of being able to do the same thing later. I've never tried the 'clarity now' thing but as far as i know (or read here), it doesn't work most of times.

Hi melynna

Well if you're stuck in the vicinity of your physical body, this might be why you can't see properly.  I almost invariably find vision is poor when close to my physical body.  I think you need to try to get out of your room!

It sounds dumb, I know, but are you able to get to your bedroom door and open it?  I don't mean pass through it, I mean to go over to the door (or to feel for it perhaps by feeling your way with your hands), grab hold of the handle and walk out like you would do physically?

Once out of your room then try opening your eyes.  It might just work wonders.  This is how I operated when I first started years ago, and it was remarkably effective...

Quote from: MajorTomHearing voices is fairly common in the pre-exit stages of trance and meditation, and the borderline of sleep.

Heard bunches of voices last night while trying to blank out my mind to see what would happen. They came while I was trying to not think of things and then just start thinking a bit. They're distracting little buggers that'll break your concentration and you'll start to think about more things and visualize stuff without fully realizing it.

The idea that the voices/images are are sort of safeguard, to prevent projection before you're ready makes alot of sense to me.  Perhaps it's a warning from your higher self, one time immediately after entering the vibration state I clear-as-day heard "There's something you don't know yet!"
Well, that was enough for me!!  I thought "I'll take your word for it I'm outta here!" and I immediately focussed on moving my finger and snapped right out of it!!
