Weird shrieking noise...

Sometimes a flash of brilliant white light is strongly related to clairvoyance and is a strong indicator that clairvoyant potential is present. []

As for the screaming..just astral noises that one hears during an exit, so my friend you were about to exit and be on your way!!  Sometimes it can be quite scary, but ignore it at all cost next time!

Thanks Nay. I wasn't even trying to AP, just trying to sleep. Plus I never had my usual exit sensations... the noise I heard was very different to the noise I normally hear when I'm about to AP... (please note, that although I've experienced the sensations, but I've not actually consciously gone OOB yet).

I've been told I have some kind of psychic ability, and I've suspected it myself. So that kind of confirms some sort of psychic activity is going on to me.

Not to belittle your experience, but was your first reaction, "I'm clueless of such things, I better go to AstralPulse and ask the experts!"...? Record the experience in as much detail as you see fit, like with any other mysterious or interesting experience. Your subconscious will work on it, you'll become consciously aware of other interesting things that connect to the experience. Perhaps you'll read in the newspaper a murder occured at that exact moment? Perhaps not.

Actually guys, Phong has some excellent advice there.
The suggestion is to become aware of the smallest detail and then let it simmer while being as observant of what's going on around and what happened around the time of the experience.

The significant sentence:

What type of noise was it?  I've heard different stuff.  Once as I was thinking about someone, I heard someone call my name.  Another time I could have sworn there were like thousands of voices all speaking at the same time, getting louder and louder.  Another time I heard a shrieking noise, like the loud pitch you hear after the TV goes off the air.

It's not that I object to, it's the "sarcastic" comment before that. I.E.

I think the reason Phong went for that style is that people are too keen to see evil around every dark corner and behind every unusual bonk in the night.

Yes I know, but I wasn't looking for something evil in what happened to me. That is why I got annoyed with Phong because as in "unnecessary", it was uncalled for. Understand what I mean now? I know it was a joke to him/her, but I didn't find it funny this time simply because it isn't a joke to me.

True. I suppose Phong is after myself in that he has a hair trigger for sarcasm [] Anything not funny can be safely ignored.

The sound and light show was most probably an inadvertent venture into the astral made all the more startling by it being entirely spontaneus and catching you off guard.

Last night when I was falling asleep, I drifted off as usual, then suddenly in my mind's eye, I saw this flash of brilliant white and blue light streaking across, and woke up to hear an extremely loud screaming/shrieking noise in my left ear. This scared the beejesus out of me...

Any idea what this could have been?
