In the bible, lust doesn't  mean sex.  Lust is a state of wanting something.  It can be the neighbor's cattle, or his wife.  Which back then, were equally valuable.  So when it considers lust a sin, it means that you shouldn't covet that which isn't yours
Agreed (dont covet), but thats just one of several interpretations, its not the only one though IMO

Do people eat meals in astral??  I was wondering this today  :|

They can, and they do, but obviously they don't need to. It's just one of the many physical pleasures which they feel attached to and compelled to do. I once created a meal and took a few bites, and let me tell you it was absolutely delicious! It was a perfect replica of what I considered to be one of the best meals of that type I've ever had in the physical. I don't know if the same feeling of being full is possible in the astral though (although it's probably redundant without the need to satisfy a hunger).

Everything tastes like chicken!  :D

But yeah, seriously, Fresco, haven't you ever had a dream in which you were eating something you really loved and it just tasted SO... DAMN... GOOD?

CFTraveler

When I was young and thin I used to have recurring dreams of eating the most amazing chocolate cake.  Now that I'm old and fat, it doesn't even appeal to me.
:-D

Does sniffing, swallowing, or smoking something count as a technique?

That was quite rude Alan.   May I ask what you were drinking, smoking, swallowing or sniffing when you wrote that out?

Xanth

Let's stick to the topic, and not segue into personal attacks.  ;)
Remember, discuss topics... not people.  Thanks ;)

Naykid

Yeah, sorry about that.  I just thought it was rude and saw that you didn't remind him of the personal attack rules and thought to help out.

It definitely applies there too.  :)

Yes it was rude. IMO it's just a humorous way of conveying my opinion that I think this person is on some drugs that are inducing her strange experiences. Do I need to state my opinion if it's not wanted? No, I can just keep quiet of course. But I think it necessary to inform others who might be misguided by her accounts. And if it really is that rude, then it can be ignored. Simple.

I couldn't agree more with your comment!  Thank you for that.

I find it healthy to express ones opinion.  BUT.. when I get banned for saying "panties in a wad", I'm thinking it isn't too fair for others to be able to express their feelings (about someone being on drugs) without the banning be handed out accordingly.  And believe me, the wad comment was all in jest.  Call me a nic picker, but it seems only fair that the muzzle should fit all sizes instead of just my size.  :-)

*sigh* that's not why you were banned... say "panties in a wad" all you like Nay.  I PM'd you the reason.
Let's please get back to the topic at hand though.

A trip to Hell!

Unless it's run it's course...

This is a trip to hell, so we are right on course!   :-D

Some people have the theory that life in this physical world is hell.
Dunno if I completely agree with that though.  I think every person creates their own type of hell

Lots of people feel that way because they are living a life of hell.  I'm living a great life but for many years it wasn't a walk in the park.  Do you think children create their own type of hell?  Or do you think it's a higher- self kinda thing going on?  Do we create said hell to play out karma?

AlanRK

Maybe it's just in our nature to create hell on Earth as opposed to heaven. It certainly seems that way, for the moment.

Naykid

For the moment?

Are you talking about personal moments?  or are we talking right now, in THIS moment?  And whom are we talking about?   :?  I was talking as a whole, as in people's lives and the trials people have to go thru.

This whole watching what we say really makes for a confusing conversation.

Xanth

Oh, I wanna say one more 'moderator' thing...

If anyone ever has an issue with something someone says in a post, please don't post publicly regarding it... either report the post in question stating your reason why you feel it was offensive, or PM a moderator directly.  We'll help out and talk to or edit whatever needs doing.  This way we keep the forums clear of conjecture and further escalating situations that could have otherwise been handled easily.

Thanks guys!

The present, the current state of the world, peoples personal lives and how they collectively combine their lives to mold Earth into what it is.

I don't believe in hell, or "tests". God would never send anyone to "hell" to be punished for failing a "test" (especially one they know nothing about), as we are ALL God and all innocent beings at the core - so what purpose would that serve? The only "sin" is thinking you are different and separate from God.  I wish people would realize this and stop fearing punishment.  We are free beings and are entitled to limitless mistakes. The vengeful God of the Bible is petty and unimaginative; he's just a projection from archaic humans and their miniature little ideologies.  I am a good person, but I don't condemn those who are not (not good people only in the eyes of society, NOT in the eyes of God) because we are all equal and all deserving of love. The idea of "hell" and those who believe in it really annoy me for some reason... such little faith in the unconditional love of God.

It doesnt matter what you call it, hell or something else, there's clear evidence that the absolute lowest astral planes are very unpleasant dimensions and closely resemble what we would picture "hell" to be like.  I dont think there's much debate about that

Hell is still pictured by some people as being the place where you get sent by God to repay for your sins, or simply if you didn't live a good and honorable life. In my perspective this is a mistake because what can take you to the lowest astral planes is your state of being, your emotional and mental baggage. So the concept of 'hell' still has different meanings for different people regardless of a possible consensus to the suffering you endure there.

Have you considered the Monroe/Moen concept, that all Hells are created by people themselves?

Discarnates end up in various Hells because that's their state of mind. And not because some external force puts them in Hells.

OK, but in the end what does it matter since the discarnate finds themselves in a very unpleasant dimension and most likely will remain there for quite some time.  The only thing thats wrong with modern church thinking re: hell is that its eternal, which clearly it isnt
